    I can confirm this. My 02 has the same starter you have. As soon as I turn my key, starts on a dime. Even my dad wishes his 2000 can start as fast as mine.

    I have that same starter and mine struggles a bit, kinda surges especially when cold. Wonder if I should check my batteries and connection cables

    @@tylerdavis288 yea I'd check the battery cables and connections. Battery cable can looks really good on the outside and have rusty and rotten wiring inside. Also have the batteries load tested first.

    @@jefflancaster6587 my local shop said it's a big old Ford and with it being roughly 20 degrees here most days, he said that's normal. I will add a word of caution. I started it the other day and heard a horrible metallic scrape sound, found out the top bolt of my starter had shaken loose and fallen out and the bottom was loose. Check your bolts every time you check the oil

    Comforting video my 03 7.3 starter dumped last week.. Went to O'Reilly's. Got the Ultima.. new one.. because I needed it same day. Installed it.. it's starting my truck fast.. I'm liking it.. Such as easy install.. if it only last as year. Then I'll just go to the closest O'Reilly's and say swap in the spot.. very happy with it.. so many Denso recs..

    I made a few videos on the 7.3 service truck I had and I got the same comments every time I started it. People just wouldnt believe it was because good batteries, cables, and starter.

    @@Zach_A I think Ingersoll Rand still makes some models in the US however I'm not exactly sure if it's MADE IN USA or Assembled in USA which is most of DeWalt stuff bragging about their "American" tools. I still prefer Makita or Milwaukee.

    Nice trucks. I once had a 6.0 starting this fast...after I sprayed some ether in the intake 😆 Had a dummy plug o ring leak and it wouldn’t start without it lol

    High speed starter gets the the high presure oil pump to 800 psi so it can start faster. It only uses 2 bolts instead of 3 like the stocker.

    Dan Stennis it’s generally batteries but sometimes an injector’s return line can go bad and lose prime and then it will have a hard time starting.

    Just put this starter in today, so badass. The manufacturer on Oreiley is a variation of denso.

    My 6bt is the same. Even in the cold. First crank except when it's around 30 degrees once it does start takes a little for it to reach idle it puffs and puffs

    I'm glad I ran into your channel. Beautiful. When and if I need batteries I will step up to a new non-refurbished battery because all batteries are refurbished but not Odyssey.

    I put the new big boy starter in my 02 and it was fight to get that big mother in. Time to make some new cables and buy those Odyssey batteries!!

    Hmm I replaced my stock one when it broke with a regular input shaft and it starts right up with no problem. Even this past winter cranking in the cold for a few never seemed to slow down. But I’ll keep it in mind when it goes

    Ok good video. The used 01 350 7.3 i just bought had brand new Duralast Gold 850cca batteries with a 09/21..date..they have never turned the starter over like i would like to hear it. No corrosion on the hefty new cables. I'll load test them this week before i try a new heavier starter. To bad i don't have the receipts for these 6 month old Autozone Batts.

    There are ways to put the 6.7 starter on the 7.3, I think you just change nosecone.

    Bought a NAPA Denso gear reduction and it lasted 12 months. Of course it went out on vacation. Luckily a little whack with a hammer and it started up. Had to do that twice on the trip.

    First time watcher but, did you modify / hack the stock dash cluster and install it into the more modern dash assembly 🤔. That is a dang good idea and doable with enough effort maybe. Laminate question, that is not the interior of a 7.3

    The late model 7.3 came with a better gear reduction starter. My 2003 has one. Fires up insanely good. If you have a early model 7.3 upgrading to the later starter is cake.

    @@zacharymcfarlin1270 I have watched a few of your videos and you are no doubt very talented when it comes to these trucks.. I almost bought a 16 F550 wrecker that had the 6.7.. it had caught fire under the hood and I had a 7.3 I wanted to put in it. I've always loved the 6.7 I currently have, it's got 307k and still going strong but I think the 7.3 is the best diesel engine ever made. I was glad to find ur channel cuz it let me know I'm not alone in thinking the 08 to 16 interiors are the shit.

    Well my reason is to go for that starter is because it's easier on the batteries for if you need to use glow plugs to warm up the engine to start easier in the mornings and it also the starter will pump oil faster into the injectors for a can help it push the fuel into the combustion chamber to help startup faster

    shouldn't need to do that. The later model 7.3's came with a better gear reduction starter. It should fit right in

    Same starter as a newer kubota diesel in the rtv they make. Just had to replace mine yesterday. Wish I woulda seen your video before cause the price I paid was way higher than what’s on your laptop. 🤦🏻‍♂️

    The thing is guy it's not just your starter he have done the proper battery cables negative and positive proper batteries the proper grounding of your vehicle all that goes with starting up of your vehicle and not just your starter

    GOD DAMN, watch the oil pressure gauge when he is cranking it. The gauge was actually showing oil pressure, that motor is spinning with that starter!
