in austria the airforce still flys the c130 and yes i also was surprised that my country has an actual airforce they where for example used to transport the austrians from Israel "back home" "when the war broke out" obviously with austria being austria we started rescuing a few days after the war started cuz before nobody cared when the rescuing started the people where only flown to an island nearby Also there was the thing that out of the 3 c130s we have 1 was gone (nobody knows why/where) and another had smoke in the cabin during the mission injuring the cru so we only had 1 funktioning plane in the end the austrian airline (aua) flew to israel with an a320 and resqued everybody in 1 flight

Have heard a couple reviewers talk about the duplicate landing gear and controls. Remember that this is an aircraft used in combat situations. I'm pretty confident that the duplicate controls are so the copilot can land if the pilot were to take a round of flak and be no more. They are likely sitting far enough apart to require it.

Can you also make about C-130 again I guess? They say that C-130 is capable of "everything" like dropping military tanks but have to be careful, landing on ice by being modified or.. stuff like that it's crazy.
