I’ve been obsessed with watching expats in the Philippines videos the last week I’ve watched maybe 100 plus videos … and I’ll have to say this is the first couple I’ve seen that ACTUALLY look engaged with each other and happy … this is just an observation … obviously some ppl may be shy on camera or have a more demure personality so I know many factors apply …

Thanks Adam yes I lived in a small camper I got for free on purpose. I stayed in the national forests and BLM land for free so I had no rent to pay. I only worked 6 months in the year. In the winter I stayed at my bosses (best friend) place in Mexico for free I would putts around keeping the place up for him he was not there. I was still able to save money meeting Rosemarie was the best thing that has happened to me in my life. I'm very happy and live a wonderful retirement here in the Philippines with her.

No family left in America and will be looking to find a good Filipina wife (w/kids ok) as well to settle down with out in the province (aka boonies) an do some farming, etc. Yea the dream!

You are lucky to have such a lovely and understanding wife. Enjoy your vices and don't worry about what some people may say. You worked hard to get your pension and your wife helps a lot. You both have a great life where you are living. Rose Marie, your dress looked very nice.

We are a mixed couple like you and have been in Mindanao for 15 years. We have a city house and and a mountain house, two cars, and a second lot in the mountains. Our total cost average 1500 usd per month but we have a paid house helper and a full time manager in the mountains. We raise chickens, ducks, turkeys, and pigs in the mountain property and all property is fully paid. So very much like you!

I guess I am slightly luckier. Since I reside with my wife in her family's fully paid for lot and house, 10,000 pesos per month covers everything. That's $200 USD per month give or take....

At last, well done guys, someone who lives a NORMAL life and tells it how it is. I hate all these other guys that live on the beach or big cities, live in rented houses and are telling people that you cannot live in the Philippines for under 1500USD. I too live in a province (Apalit) and we get by with 500USD a month. We also built are own house so no need for rent. we live a total normal life, we eat good have aircon and i also have my daily beers lol. Cheers.....

Wow ! That's good to know, my dream of retiring on $1500 US remains alive. Yes ! I hear so many of vloggers that, are mainstream have flip-flopped on the idea of living on $1000 per month and have now stated between $2000 -$3000. I believe it's because, they do t want guys like me to discovery I can 'live' on $1500 per month. My filipina wife doesn't need a manicure, pedicure, Starbucks or a 'personal trainer to work out ...She's is so happy I am moving to the province. And so am I

We love the province life and mountains here and it is much cheaper there. We have a camper and we have many free land management areas and one day want to live in mountain or forest area. Our home near city is separate at $1800 and is expensive as electric and everything adds up. We spend about $400 a month on food. We use powder creamer versus liquid as it travels well. Because of avaian and bird flu creamer and eggs have gone up in price alot So glad u built your own home. We grow lots of veggies n have chickens 😊 Thanks loves for sharing your life !!!! ❤️

Nice guys , I've been with my Philippina for 8 years we built a house in Solano Nueva in 2017 . You guys seen good together ❤ congrats .. I love the Philippines and The Philippine people . Our bills are cheap . Close to yours but we have a sari sari store built on our house so our power bill is 4 to 5 k a month . I don't drink or smoke anymore hehe .

I lived in the province and it was cheap to live but if you have livestock it gets costly. If you figure in the cost of Feeding them and the lose of money when they die before you can sell them then it all adds up. When I was in the Philippines it was 25 peso to $1...now it's 54 peso..

Perhaps you could cover a segment about human and cultural transitions, meaning how you both meshed your beliefs, personalities and characters together? The ying and yang. I am sure there would be plenty of humor in there and well as being entertaining. Just lay it all out there. This could be a very learning experience for many couples, especially for Filipnas and Foreigners.

Randy-you're doing great! You got this! The irritability will subside, just part of the side effects of withdrawl. Soon food should start tasting ALOT better to you. Think of the money you are saving too. And it sounds like Rosemarie is REALLY understanding about this. *Might have to treat her to something special. ;) In my case, I had about a week where I coughed up crap from my lungs, and then I was fine. I know I don't have hardly any sinus issues or even Bronchitis anymore. Love you guys, good people! Take care.

I live in lapu lapu and it is very overcrowded and the traffic in unbearable, with zero plans for infarstucture. There are 1.8 million motorcycles on Mactan Island. Iwould stay wjere you are at.

I have to say that I hope one day I can come there and find a cool Mountain place myself. My parents had a 2 and a half acre's but we got too many animals so when I was 14 years old we moved to a 80 acre farm. I love living out in the country so much better the where I am now in a city:)

I, too, retired early and moved here in the Philippines Randy. I was thinking of my remaining "Golden Years" or "Good Years" left and decided to take what ever pension they were going to give me after 15 years working for them. Our time is more precious than money, I believe, and thank God we have the Philippines! So, I retired early and moved to the Philippines like yourself, and I've been enjoying life like never before, stress-free of big bills, all sorts of debts and this and that, that will kill you with stress. I'm very happy for you Randy, and of course, for Rose,too!

Very interesting video, you two are absolutely hilarious and very honest about your life, l like that. l hoping to retire to Philippines soon, l will avoid the cities and go for the quiet province life, l would love to find a place in the mountains, it's much cooler l think....🙂

Yes she is and yes I am. Rosemarie is 39 going to be 40 in April. My only suggestion to you is stay away from the city girls. You might have to lower your age a little. I had the same age bracket and nothing then to 40 still nothing. Then for shits and giggles to 35 and whamo up popped Rosemarie she was 36 and the rest is history from there.

This is what life i want when we retire in Iloilo Philippines. I want to do farming and raise free range chicken and pigs. Currently i have 100 heads of free range heritage chicken and 50 heads of native and high breed chicken and 2 momma goat my brother take care ot them while we are in abroad. Also i paid my brother to plant me 200 0cs of Banana.

Thanks for making this video. Good information. I would like to know more about what grows there. I grew up in South Florida and from my studies I think the planting zone is very similar but now I live in North Florida which is a totally different zone. I tried Jack Fruit here but the first winter killed the juvenile plants though they grow very well in South Florida. I’d rather live in the Province rather than the city. I have lived in both. As full time Artist with my own business it has always been beneficial to live near a popular tourist city but just outside in the rural area. South Florida doesn’t have any rural areas so a lot of people are moving to central. I think lots of Floridians could adapt easier to Philippines than northern states.

Any tropical plants or fruits or vegetables grows here, In our yard we have the very common coconut trees, papaya fruit, pineapple, dragon fruit,guava, cotton fruit trees, mango, guyabano, lemon tree. and many others. Living in the province has many pros and cons too. Like amenities such as hospital and good internet. which is to be the main problem that is why if you chose to be living here You must not have a major health issues that requires medical attention My Husband Randy is blessed to have no health issues and he is just adopting here very good.
