We've heard from lots of you that you'd like to see an updated "cost of travel video." In early 2022 we made a video about how much money we spent on our first year of travel, and in this live we're going to share how much we spent in the 1.5 years after that! If you can join us for the live, you can ask us any question you want about our travel budget and costs, but if you're busy, don't fret, you can get all the juicy details in the replay :)
We're also going to try to answer some of the questions you sent in for our recent travel and money video that we didn't have time to answer in the video. You all had some awesome questions that we couldn't get to, so we'll do our best to answer them here instead.
We really hope you can join us, but if not, we hope you enjoy the replay!
If you enjoy our videos and want to give us an extra special thank you, we would love to have you become a channel member! Check out the perks here kzread.info...

Hey there! We are Nicole and Mico and in March 2021, we quit our jobs, sold our belongings, and began traveling the world! We never thought we'd be making travel vlogs on KZread, but after realizing that we had a unique opportunity to share our adventure and make the world feel more familiar and inviting to anyone watching, we took the leap and picked up the camera! We hope our videos show how wonderful, delicious, and friendly the world can be.

It's been great to see how you've grown your channel through your many adventures and discoveries of both trip and technical experiences. And as always you guys are so informative and open about so much that has helped me as well as I sure many other people with not over packing, being prepared, budget tips, how-tos, what not to do (never trust monkeys 🤣), and how best to be kind, patient, as well as flexible in traveling. I look forward to the next live and hearing about your further adventures, cheers.

Thank you @DLFH! We do our best to be open about as much as possible in these videos as we love being on the receiving end of that kind of content as well. We are so glad to have you joining us on this journey!

@@nicoleandmico it’s good to see you back home to be with your family. Traveling is exhausting and cost a lot if you’re away and be careful and continue your journey. God bless.
Thank you for your openness. This information is incredibly useful. It's great to hear that you enjoyed Mongolia. Being from Mongolia, I've been following your content since your video about my country. I can't wait to see more videos and live streams from you! 😊

Our pleasure! Mongolia was just out of this world and we can't wait to revisit and explore again one day. There's so much to see like the northern or far western parts!
Great tips! From Minnesota

Thanks Martin! We’ve both really enjoyed the few lives we’ve done, so we’re hoping to keep them up every month or two 😄 It will probably just depend on when we have good enough internet, but that’s the goal. Thanks for the great idea for another topic! We’re so glad you could join us 😁

Get to it!
So as of November 2023, Canadians now need to pay a fee to enter Colombia (about $85 CAD), and you just pay on arrival by card.
@85728itsmeee

Wow why is that? Just Canadians?
@jessicaireland1947

Yes, just Canadians. There’s a separate line at customs now just for Canadians too (which does mean you can get through quicker at least). When I asked they said it’s because Canada charges similar fees for Colombians entering Canada.

Oh man good to know! Thanks so much for sharing.
For us, living in Ecuador for three to six months at a time, we rent apartments and do daily menu del dia almuerzos for $3.50. We spend about $2200 a month living in Ecuador, not including flights to get there and back.
$106 per day and 462 days traveled, but grand total is $38,870??? lol the math doesn't check out

O you’re totally right! I (Mico) accidentally calculated average “daily average” per country and doesn’t really represent the true number since we spent more time in some countries and less than others. MY BAD 😅 the true daily average I guess is $84 usd per day… so I guess that’s better lol. Thanks for pointing it out!

38k not bad at all for that experience, did Adsense cover it or were you out of pocket for some
Why not travel in Canada while you’re there. Well I think there are not to much to explore in Canada and it’s more expensive. It’s just a big country. My sister lives in Vancouver where there are lots of Filipinos. Don’t you wanna show places in Canada?

Yes we do one day but we still want to see other parts of the world for now. Love Canada
It is quite difficult to listen to you guys because Nicole keeps talking over Mico and she doesn't let him speak or finish his talk. So much overlapping talks, which is quite annoying to listen.
