One of the best things about deploying, along with the extra pay, is that you don't have to pay state or federal taxes. You could be making bank while deployed, depending on how you spend.

I made just over $400 every two weeks, combat pay included in Vietnam in 1972 as a Buck SGT E-4 in the USAF.

Concerning Perdiem… It depends on the type of orders. I was recently on a TDY that paid for my lodging and I still received $80 a day for meals and incidentals.

Do you guys eat good when deployed and are you assessable to you money in other countries

I’m on deployment. Is per diem automatically paid to you (wrapped up in paycheck) or is it something you have to claim later on (like by using a bunch of receipts)....Also do you have to use the government travel card for purchasing per diem or can you use your own debit card?. Sorry man, I’m new to this. Thanks

it honestly depends but both deployments I went on they gave it automatically. (see if you can reach out to the deployment manager to get a better answer because I think it depends on your orders) hope this helps!

Could you please make a vedio on how to start securing a Bah cus there are some E4s who don't get bah. Or wah rank qualifies you to get the Bah please?

Any rank can get BAH. You just need to be living off base before you’re able to get BAH. Idk the paperwork anymore but if you are off base talk with your 1st Sgt or supervisor. Good luck!

So if you don’t use all the money they give you food? You will get that back. I’m about to go to tech school for the Air Force but I’m prior service. They don’t have lodging for me because the school is 5 months so. They are putting me in a hotel

I'm gonna assume you're already in tech school. So since they put you in a hotel they have to give you lodging per diem (that pays for the hotel room) HOWEVER I'm not sure if they are gonna make you go to the dinning facility or if they will give you a food per diem as well. They should tell you this before hand. If you still have issues please let me know.

Anyone been to Poland? Promotable E-4 already got all the schools in n shit they said if I took em id get that pay boost. Anyway I think we might be staying somewhere idk yet I know that we'll be gone for 10mo. And I sure asf won't be spending shit, I have my stuff together so I don't have any expenses. About how much per mo u think I'll get? Just shoot me an avg?

Sorry for the very late reply. I never went to Poland but you can check their per diem rates online aoprals.state.gov/web920/per_diem_action.asp?MenuHide=1&CountryCode=1103 This will at least give you ball park and you can add in COLA, OHA, dependents?? etc. You can also try posting in a subreddit and I'll keep looking to see if i can give you a better answer

That depends on a lot of things. Your friend could have shown you something that was back paid, it may have been per year, it could be something totally different. Any other details you can provide?

Correct (sorry very late reply) if you deploy you can break your lease and basically be "homeless" for the time you are on deployment (cuz you'll be living in a tent, or barracks, or lodge or something) then before you get back just sign a lease to a new apartment/home/condo etc. The military still pays you BAH or OHA even if you aren't currently in lease.

it's very possible to have money problems especially farther away from points of contact if something does happen to your money. So be careful and manage and spend/save your money carefully.

Hi there! So all deployments are different and have different policies/rules. The most accurate information will come from your unit deployment manager. Always remember to use OPSEC when speaking about deployments. Have a good day!

Hi thanks a lot! To my knowledge spouses don't get any extra allowance but as long as you have them listed as a dependent you can get a bit of extra base pay and BAH. Best of luck and hope that helped!
