I just went to the garage, hugged my WLA, and re-did my vow never to sell her....44 years so far...Just fitted a Model 61 Genny for reliability, and have electronic ignition conversion to fit...
Selling my bike was the worst decision I've ever made. But weirdly watching these videos cheers me up and has made me start saving for another. Keep up the awesome content

Bought a 45 in parts for $50 in 1965. Put it together and rode and rode it for 45 yrs with 1 engine rebuild and sold it in 2000 for $15,000. A good bike for me .lol.
If you try to build for profit you will lose, you restore a bike like that to save a classic for pleasure of riding or for museum

Been through a pretty rough time lately, these two dudes kinda cheer me up all the time. I had some pretty big projects like a tank bike (Dnepr frame sawed in half and built around a 800cc inline two cylinder kawasaki engine with a mini excavator track instead of a back tire) all that came to a halt due to two cases of cancer in my family. These videos kinda always remember me that one day I will get back to work on these silly projects. I just want to say thank you guys, even if you probably won't read it.
The fact that you got even what many would consider a basket case 42wla for 9k blows my mind. I'd love to find another project in that condition for around 10k.
The WLA is more than likely enough to get you on Jay Leno's Garage if you want to.. He's a motorcycle nut too and has his own Harley 45 Flat Track Race Bike..

I like the antique blue with cream color. Seams like its really antique that way. Cool you guys moving forward building this.

The auto cycle is one of my top favorites. They are so weird and quirky it's awesome.
Mid 30's had a killer green / silver paint job from the factory that I think is a dam good combination, most of the work will be done by you guys so cost falls into labor of love and you can't put a price on that .. most of the the parts in the after market you can get from Twain Ted's ( V-twin) and order the vintage book from JP cycles,

Hi Sean, I first started watching you test ride bikes from your old shop in town. You took the same route for every bike which helped me compare bikes. It also helped me get through the long MN winter. I still watch your videos but am wondering why you stopped doing the test drive videos. I’d really like to see them back on your channel.

He mostly do that kind of test ride in Srkcycles channel, if I'm not wrong!
I am super excited about the WLA project and look forward to each new episode. You are living my dream to build this bike. Thanks for each and every detail you discuss!
Lol, I remember as a teen in the 70s you could pick up a copy of any newspaper in NYC and find at least 1 basketcase harley 45 for 100 bucks. About weekly you could find a complete runner for about 500.
Man I've been wishing you would do that auto cycle since you bought it, PLEASE do that next!

I`d love to see you guys rebuild the V45 Magna that Sean learned to ride on. I`m a little biased because the V45 Magna is by far my favorite motorcycle that has ever been built.
That last part, when you talked about how you get into stuff that you don't know to learn. I can relate so much to that. Been buying broken stuff out of my confort zone for a few years now and I'm having so much fun learning doing it, makes sense that I love what you guys do so much! Keep it up!

So true!
I think the battleship Gray with everything blacked out except the stainless steel spokes and maybe stainless steel springs or chrome in the forks and maybe chrome exhaust.. and that I think would be cool to finish the Indian and do it in the same color combo
Rebuild the Indian for sure, It needs it and deserves it. That bike looks rough in my eyes but I see a beautiful finish from you two.. Currently, the Indian looks like a hand-me-down that some kid junked up.. It’s definitely worth making look beautiful again.
That gun metal gray/black combination isn't stock but it beautifully honors its function.
We love you Craig, being a jack of all trades is what I have always been and it's by far the most useful thing.
Didn't think I'd like blue until I saw a video Matt did with a lightish blue '57 Panhead. Bike was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Think the Indian should come next, but I'm a sucker for great old machines...

Grey with red and black pinstripes!👌
I just started working on a two stroke Honda Hobbit pa50 and your videos have helped me figure out how to troubleshoot and work on it.
I'm hoping to see that beautiful grey on the wla. Good work you guys!!
Don’t give in! Be patient, I think in the end it will be worth it for such a beautiful bike.
Watching these videos are awesome. The two of you know how to have fun and you can see it. I don't even own a motorcycle nor have I ever owned one. But I've been watching these videos out in my garage since it started. Something about this channel keeps me entertained and I love the knowledge I learn from it. Keep up the good content.

Another great video , following this build is great. Getting all that info on pricing is so interesting. This bike is going to something to look at and ride when its complete!
Had a corner of my bedroom piled with new parts for decades. Slowly started chipping away when I had time. Shovelhead came together nicely. Time and patience is key. I feel your pain :)
Y’all I was torn between the Red with Tan seat and the grey, and I love the color grey. My own bike is the soft Charger “ destroyer grey”, but I ultimately ended up voting for the Red. It fits the bike and compliments the lines and curves of the bike very well.
i think getting it back to color red will justify its identity as a WLA
When I was a teenager in the 80s, I was getting into aviation and spent a lot of time hanging at the local airport here in south TX. A local ultralight pilot, I believe his name was Carl, was a dealer for the Pulse Auto Cycles. He had a demo model that he drove around a lot and kept in a hangar there. I never saw another one until this project showed up on your channel.
I watch all the bike builds and it keeps me inspired to keep going in a shitty world we all live in. Having these projects I do, keeps me sane. Mine is on a small scale but it's what I love to do...
Don’t look at the cost enjoy the finished bike the bug I’m sitting on cost me 30k over 10 years it was 1 off 300 it was fun to do Stay safe take care all as always love for London ✌️
Make the whole bike black and gray with a few Chrome accents I love that gray you showed so gray tins black frame chrome wheel rim and black spokes once again love what you guys are doing with the channel like did you hire a professional director and producer LOL you guys are doing awesome awesome job keep it up and God bless
I've been struggling with my demons lately, been your channel has spurred me into getting my Ducati Monster back on the road, please just keep doing what you're doing.
You guy have given me the inspiration to get at rebuilding my 78 KE250B. Thank you sirs
A bike like that... No cost is too much. When you love a bike the cost is secondary. This bike deserves a proper build. Stuff the general public thinks. In the future what you spend will be returned many times over. Do it right. Ride it and hang on for a few years. Pays for itself.
LIKE THE STONES SAID........ PAINT IT BLACK
I restored a 1964 Tote Gote with my grandpa a couple years ago and the process is actually really fun and cool to go through these videos reminded me of that thank you
Man, I started watching the channel a few weeks ago but, I have been binge watching, I love the content. I can't wait to get my first bike one day!
The Indian would look good in turquoise blue with white accents.
Gold. Some people think they know everything and you find out they know nothing. Humility is a sign of a good person. I know a little bit about a few things not everything but I'm willing to learn when necessary
Enjoying this build and explanation of the work and money involved. The BIG money is always in the engine and the sheet metal work and paint. Luckily you have friends. If you had to rely on shops and shop prices, you'd be at 40 no doubt! Can't wait to see the finished product.
Red of course!
Always love stopping by the shop, have a blessed week my friends.
Another great video thanks. With the forks you would almost certainly be better to wait and get them done by a specialist. We have a 1937 Sunbeam and did the girders oursleves. Gave up after 6 months of working and rebuilding them. They looked perfect but the thing wouldn't track straight. Sent them to Jake Robbins (leading guy for these forks here in the uk) came back looked exactly the same but tracked perfect!
Always enjoy the content never disappointed have a good day and stay safe Jimmy from North Attleboro Massachusetts

Great project! Any of those colors that you are considering will look great, but my vote for this bike is RED!
Cool stuff going on for sure! Keep it up!
I had to choose grey with those options really would like to see it done in Olive drab, but whatever colour it ends up, it will look great. Keep the old machines rolling
Awesome. Give me inspiration to do my own build. God Bless!
The fact that I've never really been into motorcycles but watching your channel is interesting to me says something.
Also guys, as I suggested in my last letter, get a 34 tooth engine sprocket, which will make for more power at less rpm's. You're stuck with the 51 tooth rear sprocket, as all Harleys were until the advent of disc brakes. You can go higher than 17 teeth on the tranny main sprocket, it all depends on how you're going to use the bike. Another thing that I suggested, get a 45 WL workshop manual, you can find reprints of them all over Ebay, buy an inexpensive wheel truing stand & do the lacing & truing of the wheels yourselves. Stop just throwing money at it & do some of the restoration with your own hands, that's where the real joy of the restoration happens, and you'll have more pride from investing your own time & labor!!
You've seen Robby Laytons work. Ask him to quote you on the fenders repair. He uses an aluminum metal filler that won't crack. Also, consider Cerakoting all metal. Much tougher than paint and adds only microns of thickness to part. In fact gun shops use it in high precision parts and high wear areas. Love the build an I vote BLUE
Loving the build guys
Your show causes inspiration for others. I can do this, DOING IT!
Don't forget to include a turbo on that 1000cc build, that and a supertrapp exhaust system just to give it that proper back to the future sound quality
Yes, definitely do the Auto Cycle next. It would be the most unique build on KZread. I would watch every day.
I really liked this video. It was a very realistic assessment of costs minus your time, which is considerable and worth money BTW. Fixing motorcycles IS about learning; you guys are just like all the rest of us. You show us the learning curve; this is nice. Color... whatever you like; it's your build not mine. Something OEM and tasteful just like you're talking. The original color was olive drab military, but unless you're heading for Normandy and D Day... The red is both OEM and fits with contemporary taste. This is a good choice for resale. The medium blue is OE and popular for HD restorations, but too close to baby blue for my taste. Do you see this color on anything contemporary, i.e. any vehicles bikes or cars? I mean Avacado was a popular color for kitchen appliances in the sixes... is you wife cool with that color in her restored kitchen today? Anyway, love your work; you Dudes go!
Feeling your pain. It hurts right there😭. I hope your build turns out beautiful, I’m loving the content keep inspiring! God bless
I can hardly wait until you guys work on Ed's, from Matt's Off Road Recovery!
You had some great green bikes in your collage, or blue! Thanks guys, also maybe Craig could follow you and Jay on some other vintage ride!
Love seeing this kind of content. 🤘
21:34 so true you got to own it to really know it. the first time I ever rode a motorcycle was after I bought one. Now I’m riding one every day.
It's a great Blue. Red is cool too. Grey and Black would be awesome. Black rims and Black the forks instead of chrome? If Black and Grey then Natural oiled leather on the seat? Blue with some Red pinstripes? Aren't the accents in the tank badges Red? If you went Blue with Red accents then Chrome the front and rims? W oiled still look cool with Natural oiled leather seat. Wish I had a CAD to run the possibilities...
Been There Done That Got the Headaches and Bills to show for it. For the most part do most of the work myself on bikes, learned to true wheels in high school from a racer of ole. Learned tin bending and painting over the years, fabricated many parts made out of unobtainium on the lathe and milling machine, Thanks to Navy Machine Tool Operator Course, welding work again thanks to the Navy. Have some strange projects behind my belt, grandkids love it.
i know you already finished this Bike WLA harley you could have sand blasted or soda blost and then powder coated yourself with a kit form Eastwood company and saved a bunch on wheels.
I feel the stress, I’m building my 02 Buell blast , had to wait for rare parts to surface and find people who know of aftermarket, currently waiting on my Force exhaust and head to come back from being ported/ polished, and decked 10.5-1
Rebuilding a classic: 25 grand Craig's work and experience: 0 dollars. Sean's Humor: priceless
It's hard to imagine the bright green being an original color, but the picture of it seems like it's at the Wheels Through Time museum, so it might be. If so, I might vote for the bright green, over the red.
Cool! I do believe there is or was one or two of those airplane type bikes over here in Wampum, Pa(western Pa.).. that was many many years ago so they maybe gone/sold now.
The bright green. Super unique and a conversation starter for sure.
Hey Sean and Craig , ! I’d love to see y’all rebuild a bike from every decade !!! Starting with this one and working all the way up and build one of a kind bike from each decade and then auction them off 🤫😮🤷♂️
I'd be interested in following your Indian build. I've been struggling with a horrible mess of a 1940 (ish) Indian Chief for the last three years. Progress is extremely slow, and I have had to correct some *MAJOR* screwups by parts of the project that were shopped out to "professionals" by my employer/customer. I could tell you horror stories. Best wishes to you!!
Grey for the WLA and the indian next !!! 🔥👍
I REALLY, enjoy your videos, and because of what I have learned about your characteer I told myself when the time came I would buy my next bike from SRK, and I have been wanting to buy another bike since I had to sell mine to help pay bills for my mom when she was out of work from cancer, unfortunately she passed away. 2 years later I was ready to buy a bike, but my son got diagnosed with leukemia 3 years to the day after my mom' passed away from cancer. My son is now doing well, thank God, and I am ready to look for a bike. So SRK needs to be back asap.

good for you for putting your family first, you will never regret that. thats what a real man does.
I'm not sure how far along you are with the WLA project but if you haven't decided on a colour yet, how about Sunburst Orange. I think Sunburst Orange would really Pop. I know I originally said Olive Green would be a great colour, but was put off when the guy you were talking to about colours said "Green is bad luck," I thought about Sunburst Orange as a symbol of sunrise which feels like an affirming colour for Bikes & Beards and the way you reach others with your faith.
