Very nice of you to do this. Video, but really there’s no need to excuse or defend yourself! I moved to Spain 1.5 years ago and I too have very low expenses, due to owning our piso and coche outright and only paying for living expenses. We live in the Alicante area and we eat out once or twice a week, mostly cook in cause I enjoy it and our expenses are roughly 800 to 1000€ monthly, as you say it’s a very personal thing and we all have different needs and likes. The Fact of the matter is that we are fortunate to be able to live here and enjoy life at a slower pace! Thanks for sharing your personal expenses and anyone that has negative comments are just haters!

I'm sorry l didn't see your comment earlier. It just appeared today along with the one from Monika above. Thanks so much for those words Deisi. I really appreciate it. Thanks for being able to verify the truth haha!. It never occurred to me that it would be something that needs explaining but here we are. Spend a lot, it costs a lot. When the biggest expense is taken out of it, it is certainly less. We are indeed fortunate. I'm glad you're loving Alicante. Definitely a place l want to visit 🙂.

Darling your expenses are quite high!😂 I do not eat in restaurants, I eat at home anything I want for a total of €300 including beer, wine. Rent €250/month in Torrevieja or Alicante. Any extra I did not have, in the future might have to add up more for travel. Cheers! I like you guys!🍻🍻

I love this comment... haha! You better be careful Jim, you might be accused of underestimating yours as well!🤣😂. Your rent amount is awesome! WOW!!!! Our problem is that we love to eat a lot of seafood, and love to cook for friends (or should l say l volunteer him to cook for friends😊), and lately the expensive pate. The dog's medicine is also quite a high monthly amount (€150 for hers vs just 20 for me). Obviously, it's still not enough for some people, but I'm with you, eating at home rocks!

Thank you sharing! Yes, I agree with you, it's very personal. I have my own spreadsheet of possible expenses, we are planning to move to Valencia probably in less than five years and I'm adjusting every time I see changes. And this is just to have a approximate idea. At the begining we plan to rent until we really know where we want to live, and then buy a property in the desire area.

That’s great what you’re doing. It really helps you set realistic budgets. Prices have increased since we moved, but overall still a great bargain. Everyone experiences life differently. There is so much free stuff to do too. Yeah, it took us about two and a half years to find a place we wanted to be. Good luck with everything.👌🏽

@@nextbiteoflife I'd love to know other neighborhoods outside of Rusafa who might be the Valencia capital for most Americans! Maybe some nice areas close to the metro and 10 minutes ride to the city center.

@@JuanKis En Corts and Montolivete are about 10 minute walk to Russafa, and a half hour walk to the city center (we are here close to the City of Arts and Sciences). On the bus, it takes about 10 minutes or less. To get to the beach, it's about 20 minutes on the bus. Arrancapins and La Petxina are also close to the center - about a 15-minute walk or 2 metro stops. Arrancapins has a metro station that connects all the other lines so it is super-convenient. They are mixtures of foreigners and locals so more Spanish and cafes are cheaper etc. I enjoy living here. Russafa is not my cup of tea despite it being a favorite of most people.

OK people. It should be obvious to everyone that the cost of living will vary depending on your lifestyle. Based on several VBLOGS it seems like a range between 1500 to 3000 EU per month is accurate for most people. If I was living in Spain I would be revolting on how the political leaders have caused all the economic hardships the citizens of Spain are experiencing.

Thank you, William, I thought it was obvious as well, and also...what kind of incentive would l have to underreport the figures? Plus, why wouldn't you go with the higher numbers if you believe that is right. No reason to bust my chops :-). Aah... politics... the taboo with immigrants. I don't know any Spanish people who will talk politics. My Spanish teacher dances around it and that's as close as l get. The citizens do protest a lot though, however little it helps :-).

with 1500 you dont live good in spain, you survive. 3k you are middle class. Spain is fucked for spaniards but a nursing home for retirees brits, americans and other ppl. But we are living in hell. We cannot go out of parents house until 30s with degrees and masters, we are foce to go somewhere else of eu just to live.
