    Paris, I watched this video very carefully. I think you were nervous for the first time, lol! It's hard to give advice to new business owners, it truly is. You want to give accurate info! However there is nothing like experimenting with your own supplies. Everyone's is slightly different from type of wax, to fragrance supplier, wicks chosen all the way to cure time and packaging. I've told people in the past that you really just have to do you. Do your best work and research and you'll come out fine. I hope every candle maker out there has a successful new year in 2021. Love your videos and always look forward to the next one. You did awesome!

    I was going to do three signature candles and scents, but decided to start with two , and do the same scent but in wax melts. So 2 candles and 2 sets of wax melts. I rough estimates to bring in about 2500 with the prices I chose, and I spent about $600 on supplies, so the profit would be good .

    Thank you for your videos. So informative and helpful. I do the same method for soy wax - heat wax to 185, pour FO in at 160, and pour into jars around 145. My hot throw isn’t always as strong. Maybe I’m not stirring long enough. Any suggestions?

    Ik I wasn’t asked, but I seem to get a good HT using 10% in soy if that helps. Like Paris stated, you will not get a strong HT with soy anyways, but this amount seems to give a decent throw.

    Yes for me even with 10% and began adding my fragrance oil at around 165 so avoid the aroma evaporating helped as well. For a soy candle, I was pleased with my scent throw.🙂

    Hello! Whatever came in the kit it should have instructed you on how much to add for that particular wax and kit size. If it’s so wax your not going to adjust strong scent throw due to the nature of the wax. I never used essential oils; I only use fragrance oils so I am not sure.😊

    The kit I bought also was essential oil and instructions were for fragrance oil. So after doing research and fining essential oil should be added at a lot lower temperature 140 made a new batch and was better but not like wowed by it. I don’t know why they would sell these kits with essential oils when it’s not recommended for candle making when looking for that great hot throw!

    Hi, thanks for the video. I’m in the testing phase and I burned a few candela recently to see what the HT would be like. After burning I noticed the top isn’t as smooth anymore and looks a bit rough to me. Is this something you’ve seen while using soy? I use 464 currently and I’m nervous because I keep thinking what will my future customers think of this. It’s very smooth before the burn but it’s the after that’s getting me. Send helppp 🤣🤣

  • @LadyCIMONNECandleCo

    @LadyCIMONNECandleCo

    Hey! Don't over stress about this. It's very common due to the nature of the wax. The rough, bumpy tops after burning a soy wax candle are caused when the hot wax in the melt pool cools and solidifies at an inconsistent rate. It does not affect the performance of the candle. If and or when you start an actual business, this can be included in your FAQ's and explain it as a good feature due to using a natural wax such as soy :)

I have started my little business on Etsy (www.etsy.com/shop/myminimalco) fearly recently, and I'm not sure if I am taking a big economic risk by buying more fragrances, wax and jars. I have started with melts and small 4oz candles and now I am including bigger ones up to 10Oz. Do you have any advice on how to draw a line so the profit doesn't end all in the new stock?How much would you say can it take to recover the first inversion? Love from the UK!

    Recommend doesn’t mean it’s what you have to do; making candles is not the same for everyone depending on the wax, wicks and oils you use. Based on my experience I just choose to do that because the oil is sitting there burning off. Soy doesn’t pack a punch for throw anyway. I found ways depending on what oil I was using to add at a different temp. Doesn’t mean anyone is right or wrong....it’s sometimes varies foe everyone so we all give a base recommendation. That’s why you have to test and try things for yourself after learning and adjust from there.

But others I added a little later. I want to give my customers the best so I test different methods and learn when to add what oil - with soy and now with the wax I use😊
