    I’m a driver with JB Hunt, but not intermodal. I am on the Corsicana Mattress account. I’m home on weekends and I make close to 90k a year. I make 69 cpm plus 30 dollars a stop and 65 dollars per load. Good week for me is $2500 gross.

    I’m a heavy hauler for JB Hunt out of Salt Lake City. I drive either DRY or WET to Boise, Idaho. Start Monday and work through to Saturday morning. I have all day pretty much Saturday off Sunday off and Monday I go back in at 2:30 Pm. I do make it back to the Costco DC with like 12 minutes left on my clock so it’s close. I go home every day. I do 702 miles a day and my paycheck is around $2420 every week before taxes. 2,080$ after taxes. Can’t complain.

    I use to work at jb I first started night shift weekend wrap. My first fleet manager was really cool. The no force dispatch was really nice becuase working at night could be hard on you specially if you get no sleep it takes a toll on you. You could make decent money there but you got to move all night not really sit around. Plus you gotta know where are all the empty's and know how to put expectations. And you be good I honestly when I started I was overwhelmed with so many information you need to know specially knowing all the rails but once you know everything it's really easy. Overall it's oright just gotta move your ass to make money here 14hours a day it's where it's at but will get burn specially at night. If you got a good dispatch and everything your golden. Just gotta put in work

    I couldn't have said better. You have to give it 6 months and you'll know what your doing. It's hard work but I've had drivers tell me it's the easiest truck driving job they've ever had. The money is there to be had if your work hard and know your exceptions. Exceptions are so key to making a good pay check.

My question is how honest were they when they told you how much you’d make ? Was it close to the amount you’re currently making ? Also , do they give raises ? And how are their benefits ?

    The downside of working on performance pay. It is all determined by everyone else but you, emptys, loads, customers, and traffic. We could skip breaks and lunch and it will all be out of our hands. This is why I picked a hourly wage job. Jbhunt and other companies do this to avoid paying OT

    @@kiwi8476 Yeah I'm with them now. If you have a good manager you can get lots of money like I was in the beginning. They switched my manager to a new guy and he's screwing up my flow. It would take him hours to fix a screw up. Dude sent me 90 miles out to pick up a load that wasn't there like 4 times. He'll have you waiting thinking he making moves only to tell you to head back and pick up something else. That's four hours wasted in big cities. The miles are garbage when you are new so all those miles equal up to barely a load.

  • @R.O.T.C._SEEM
    @R.O.T.C._SEEM Жыл бұрын

    I went from making about $1300 a week with them to barely over $1000. They use to pay for empty moves but some jackass messed it up because if you only moving empties that day you get paid hourly plus the miles. This fool gonna move one empty and sit the rest of the hours. They went back and saw that he did it at least 3 times and now they don't pay to move empties anymore. The empties use to balance out the phantom loads they always give me but now I'm losing hella money with them. Today I sat at a shipper for 3 hours because they couldn't figure out what happened to the load I was suppose to pick up. Didn't even get paid for the wait because they canceled the load so detention time, nope.

J.B. hunt pays for empty search yes, but J.B. hunts equipment is junk they don’t fix the trucks half the time. I’m not taking up for either one but worked at Schneider intermodal for six years and the pay is better at JB Hunt but the Health insurance is better at Schneider, the equipment is better at Schneider. JB Hunt has more intermodal work than Schneider, both are good companies. JB Hunt will give senior drivers new trucks every time they don’t want to deal with their current trucks problems and keep passing down the ones that have problems to drivers under them. Shift bids go by seniority so every year people above you steal your shift and you get what’s left when they get to you, so you may not have the shift you want. Did you receive the exceptions packet it has all of the exception types in there but the only true way to learn is while you’re actually doing it just think of it this way everything you do you should be getting paid for so after you complete a trip and you’re looking for an empty mark the time and start charging empty search if you’re moving equipment from one yard to another that’s another exception and these are important because exceptions are not automatic so if you don’t input them into the system you’re basically not getting paid for your work. For my area when I do 4 trips I tend to do around 300 maybe $350 depending on the mileage as well
