This is sooo cute, I felt so much love from this! My flowerhorn gets fed twice a day by meal worms and he is a big fella... I feed him pellets through out the day because every time I pass by he begs for food... My parents don't feed him until there's a bulge at night, they just feed him what the fish store clerk says and it's so sad.

He’s like a little dog. My betta is kinda like a dog but he still is against hand feeding so I just drop the food in near him and watch. We have been doing basic training, like calling him to me. I noticed he comes to where I am if I come over so I assume he’s bonded with me so it’s a start.

it's the last one in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fmejsNxvncXao9o.html for tips, I suggest checking out my playlist. especially the video thumbnail with "secrets revealed" one. for the betta, I would wait 2 months or more. or until all the plants are doing great and the tank reaches balance. the hardest part is finding the right light. it's the most crucial part, imo. good luck.

pretty much the same rule applies, imo. but for an adult fh, I wouldn't feed 3 times a day. more like once or twice a day until there's a little or hardly any bulge. if fed twice, a little bulge after the second meal. This is not set in stone or anything, but it's what works for me. If there's a big bulge all the time, I think it's too hard on the fish's digestive system. and that could lead to bloat or other health problems down the line, imo.

I get'em through a lot of searching. I look through ebay, forums, classifieds, calling LFS...etc. you can also find them at aquabid.com.

Hey what’s up bro me again. So I just got my 4” srd fh shipped to me from Thailand and I live in LA. As soon as I got him I made sure to acclimate him and I also added some of my tank water every 10 mins for an hour. My water parameters are good. Temperature is good but when I put him in after an hour he just sunk to the bottom. He hasn’t thrashed around or anything like that. What do you think it is?

wow, yea, the trip probably was very hard on him. give him a few days to settle into the new water. in the mean time, feed him, but don't bother him. just leave him alone until he gets his strength back.

Yes, it takes a week or more for you FH to get used to things and you. Try to provide him with a hiding place like ceramic pot or rocks.

flowerhorns can turn very dark when they are stressed. the dark color will disappear when he gets settled in and feeling better. yea, flowerhorns will eat pretty much any fish food, but some can be picky eaters. try to get fish food with at least 40% protein. or check out this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gGmmqq2Gkcuueco.html

it really depends on how big your flowerhorn gets. I think it's possible if you have enough filtration for a full grown flowerhorn and do big water changes each week. for a 12 inch flowerhorn, I think it'll be fine. but if yours turn out to be a monster sized, you might have to get a bigger one. but you don't have to worry for 2 years or so.

I have always had bad times with flowerhorn s everyone I have bought from my lfs has had hith....

What size for tank do you recommend for FH? Do you need lid ? What's their max size? How do i know if fh in my LFS are stunted? Im planning to get one

for a baby flowerhorn 20~30 gallons with a filter rated for 2 times that would be fine. yea, you must have a lid. they can jump out. you could probably keep it for up to a year depending on how fast he gets big. but full size fh can get 12 inches or more. for your final tank, 55g should be minimum, IMO. bigger is always better for a full size fh. try to get one that doesn't have vertical black stripes or darkened color.

Hi, my fh has big stomach (not very) from last 3-4 days, I starved him for a day, Also added epsom salt in tank, He is eating and pooping fine, idk if its bulge or his stomach just got big :p also when I didn’t feed him he didn’t poop. other day i gave 6-7 pallets in morning and he pooped fine at noon. No white poop or anything, hes is super active but his belly still looks a bit bloated Any suggestions still? If i dont give him food he tried to eat his poop and throws it out :p that means he need his food.. im just confused because i dont want him to starve for continuous 2-3 days. xD. Hope u reply!!

yea, upload a video and tell me, I'll take a look. lots of the time, a little bulge in the stomach is normal especially if your fh poops normal every day.

he looks fine. that little bulge is normal. if he's pooping normal, every day, you don't have anything to worry. when he eats his own poop and spits out, that's normal, too. he might do that even if he's full. he wants to eat all the time and he thinks for a second his poop is food. that's a healthy sign. a healthy fh should always want to eat. don't overfeed him, though.

Foo the Flowerhorn thanks mate, I was bit scared so i took him out of tank to give him some epsom salt, since his mouth is too small i didn’t feed him and put him back yo tank , he ate his fav pallets and looks a lil stress. :D Thanks for reply mate that really helped. Love to u and foo

if your fh is fine with a little bulge, you shouldn't worry as long as he goes to bathroom fine each day. I would suggest not feeding him for 2 days and see if the bulge subsides.
