How Much Firepower Does Russia Have Left After Two Years of War?

Ғылым және технология

It has been two years since the war in Ukraine began. What started with a big Russian push has settled into a bloody slog in eastern Ukraine. Places like Donbas, once known for their rich farmland, are now riddled with craters and bombed-out buildings.
Before the war, Russia's military seemed unstoppable. They had all these weapons left over from the Soviet days, plus a bunch of modern stuff too. Everyone thought they would secure a swift victory. But the war has shown a different story. Ukrainian forces, fueled by Western support, have defied expectations with fierce resistance.
Russia is facing mounting casualties and logistical problems. Western sanctions are also starting to bite, crippling the Russian economy. The outcome of the war remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: Ukraine's resistance has been far more effective than anyone expected.
Now, as the war enters its third year, a big question hangs in the air: how much firepower does Russia truly have left?
Let's dive into this and see what the war did to Russia's fighting power.

Why did ukraine result to do a forced mobilisation where people get kidnapped off the streets and send to the front? Those things dont hapoen in Russia. Your comment does not make any sense. @@glebb..3416 Your claims are easy to go through. Why does Ukraine suffer manpower shortage? If you did not know, Ukraine is much smaller country then Russia. Ukraine is using conscription. This is common way to build a defence of a nation, and is used in smaller countries. This way also The average soldiers come from different age groups (average Ukrainian soldier is 37, average Russian soldier is 26). This means that most of the Russians that have died have been young men. Ukraine has not been "kidnapping people", maybe you should use a bit More reliable sources? Meanwhile Russia had to make a draft of over 300 000 men again due high casualties. Russia has not been able to do as much missilestrikes as they did before. No one claims they have non left. Happy to help to understand the complex situation better, I understand that your schools systems are not as good as ours, it's not your fault.

@@kasperssononeandonly BBC made multiple videos about it a few months ago, there is no conscription in ukraine, there is a forced mobilisation. There is a big reason why ukrainians cant leave their own country but Russians can. There are multiple videos on youtube and many on telegram about the kidnappings, its not a secret, you can find those because sadly I cant post links. Nothing to do with population, if Russia is suffering much more casualties then Russia would be the one having a non-stop forced conscription and forbidding their citizens to leave, but its the other way around, because those things happen in ukraine. You have a very rose tinted way of seeing whats happening in ukraine.

Russia is more than 5 times larger than Ukraine, yet they took over a year to capture a few towns like Bakhmut, Adiivka and other settlements. And you can't say its Ukrainian propaganda, There's thousands of videos of equipment being destroyed shows that Russia struggled to beat Ukraine with its WW2 style meat wave assaults. If this is the best they have then Russia is definitely not as powerful as they claim to be.

And the other hand they weakenimg europa, collapsing our economic and make us more dependent on them, so we buy their 5 times more expensive gas, oil and other stuff and not the cheap and reliable things that russia offers. I dont want russia to go till Berlin, but man if this continues we will slowly gonna collaps the whole union. The only one thats thinking and doing what is best for their people (it chose the better bad option) is Hungary. With not getting itself involved and still buying stuf from russian. Nonsense data? Like the Russian data about destroying Bradleys before they even arrived in Ukraine and the data about destroying 1000 Ukrainian drones when Ukraine didn't have that much at the beginning of the war, Like the data about taking out Patriot missile launchers on the roofs of the buildings (no roof would withstand that weight). Or the Russian data about the efficiency of their weapons and soldiers. Yeah, so efficient that despite withholding US aid for six months, the Russians were only able to capture a small vilage of 1600 people for the price of 50 000 of their own soldiers. Russia lost 26 ships to a country without a navy. The only thing the Russian army is good at is winning with overwhelming numbers using outdated methods and tactics. Right now, in this one war against one poor failed state that Ukraine was and is, Russia has lost more soldiers in a little over 2 years, whereas the USA has lost on all fronts of World War II during 4 years. Mighty Russian military, LOL, more like massive Russian military.

All data is manipulated to support a narrative. First, this war was prepared by NATO since 2011. The Donbass war started at 2014, with a Nato trained Ukrainian army. At the beggining of Hostilities the Ukrainian army was Nato second most powerful army surpassing Turkey with a lot more soldiers than Russia. Also, its needed to debunk the lie of the failed assault on Kiev. Russia retired forces after the cease fire settlement of Istambul that ukrained agreed, but betrayed the contracted terms. Russia has the biggest economical growth (FMI data) ahead of all western countries. Russia has surpassed all western military production, and have at this momment a best trained and equiped army, than at the beggining of the conflict. Ukraine has about 600.000 KIA, and a million casualties and was for all effects defeated, continuing his efforts only on western money and equipment, and, has depopulated is military age, productive male population, not beeing able to conduct rotation of forces nor a third mobilization, also because of desertion. Even about equipment losses, Russia has produced more aircraft this year, than all the losses is had. ... time to stop convince people that NATO wasn't defeated. It's interesting since that Mediazona report did say around 60-70k losses for Russia (including Wagner), but nothing about Ukraine. Which might mean their situation is way more bleak to mention.

How many soldiers they lost in Vietnam, they said 54,000. If 1 person dies in the bronk, nobody leaving in Manhattan should knows it and same case for queens, long island etc... don't talk about Florida and the other states. I think they lost between 130,000 to 160,000 soldiers ask to any honest veteran who was under the Nord vietnamese fury.

If you look at a map of the Russian controlled parts of Ukraine and compare with a year ago, there is no noticeable change over 12 months. For all Russia’s endless ‘meat wave’ attacks there is nothing much to show for it over the past 12 months. What is it costing in terms of blood and treasure? To achieve what?

The West started all of this, by ignoring Russian security concerns and realistic proposals, in the arrogant assumption their sanctions will devastate the Russian economy within a month which will lead to a toppling of the Putin government. Furthermore, they also assumed Russian military capacity was limited and no match for NATO equipment. All of that was proven to be completely false. The West's calculations went horribly wrong, and everything you see now is them trying to play catch up and planning on the fly. Of course Russians are dying and they are losing equipment, but they are fighting for a cause. To keep the vile, greedy Western capitalists out of their country.

"ignoring Russia's security concerns". It seems that you are ignoring the security concerns of Eastern Europe. Much of Eastern Europe spent decades, and in some cases centuries, under Russian control against their will. Poland, the Baltic states and Ukraine all tried to escape Russian control but were violently subjugated. Upon attaining their independence again in the 1990s they were determined to prevent Russia ever oppressing them again - hence the fact that they applied to join NATO. You seem to be suggesting that these nations had no right to freedom or independence but should instead have been left at the mercy of Russia. This is not justice - it is oppression. You need to look beyond Russia's statements about NATO and actually consider why NATO expanded in the 1990s.
