This is like the 4th time you’ve released one of these videos and gotten a creator taken down the same day.

well Sam congrats on highlighting this creator to GW as he's just been hit by them...as someone who has paid good money for the STLs from this creator to then receive a message from him saying it's been deleted, I do believe as a community we need think twice about showcasing things like this, especially the stuff that can be seen as "on the nose" or a blatant copy.

But in this case with GW nuking the creator he might never be able to put them back up. If he does I will buy from him for sure. If he doesn’t or can’t because of GW then I can only hope someone else puts them up for free or sells them second hand. In any other circumstance I would never ask in the first place. Sorry.

Nice video but I can't help but feel suspicious that the creator's files got nuked as of this morning...not long after the release of your video. These videos are interesting and all well and good to people who are thinking of getting into printing or just starting out...but shining a massive light onto them causes them issues, and now one of the best creators of proxy space bugs has had their files taken down...

That's BS. Creators who have their original take on substitutions for GW models need to be protected, but not by hiding them. Creators who make basically knockoffs that wouldn't hold up in court not so much. Though I do agree it is annoying that this channel keeps showcasing basically copies of GW models when there so many other worthy creators with their own original takes to be showcased.

I can't know for sure that this video helped laser target Butov's files, so I'll take a bit of a different tack from the other comments and say maybe, in the future, if you want to showcase 3D printed models from talented creators you COULD use for 40k, don't focus on how much money you're saving because that's essentially sticking a thumb in James Workshop's eye.

The sculptor for these files would have been known to GW for a while. Then as soon as someone releases a how-to on proxying an entire 40K faction, they nuke it so it doesn't get more traction. It's 100% this guys fault

Pretty sure this isnt the first time that you posting like this has resulted in the take down of files. It's scummy to be prioritizing cashing in on sponsorships by pushing these videos at the expense of the creators and others in the hobby that can no longer get the files.

5 days after getting a creator nukes and not even a pinned comment apologizing and promising to do better? I really like this channel and you make good content and I want to keep supporting you. So please, be honest and communicate and apologize so myself and others can continue to do so.

Sad news if another creator got shut down. I'd like to see BBS just show what he printed and not a run down showing stuff online etc. And start showing more attention to detail with painting. Great models but are let down by the paint jobs. I guess his thing is printing not painting and sponsors giving printers won't sponsor for painting. I think though if he stopped showing the website stuff and just focus on the actual printing and then maybe a decent paint job after (not just slapping a wash on everything).

You should asked the authorisation of file designers before featuring any of their work on your video's even you if don't give names, links or sites, you know who's watching your videos. I think you may have helped to nuke some of the best alternative bugs designer around. No hate for you but you should think about the potential consequences of you video's from now on

I am once again asking you to be more careful.

I have, and will continue to spend money to support creators. Think about it this way: if I was to commission a sculptor to come up with a proxy for a Norn, it would cost probably upwards of $300-$400 for a decent sculpt, and realistically it should cost a LOT more. The time it takes them to actually make they may only be charging somewhere in the realm of $15-20 an hour, which-for a lot of these high-end sculptors-is a travesty. I bought the $50 file happily. It's still less than half the cost of the official model and if I ever want to run an "oops, all norns!" list, I absolutely can. The freedom and flexibility it offers more than makes it worth it. Cost of living is high, support the amazing artists in our community.

Way to ruin this for everyone. Glad you got to make a couple views

Wel, these WERE available until your video dropped. Now, no one else can get them. If you actually care about the community or the creators, you should stop making videos like this because you're damaging both.

Please take this video if you want to save the creators you are nuking multiple creators

I was able to snag some recently nuked Nid files a while back that blow GW out of the water. I have not bought many files as I am buying them as needed but the cost is negligible on files that will see a lot of use. I have obtained some shoplifting bugs that specialize in denim pants for about $15. That seems reasonable from the off especially considering the shear number of bodies and they are compatible with the free shootee lil bugs. By the time you reverse the sculps you end up with multiple unique broods where no two minis are alike and the cost is pennies apiece for the file cost. I am working on a big ship from Loot Studios ATM but once that is done I am drawing an army from the hat (SM/DG/Nid/Necron) and printing out three kilos of minis.

The thing about expensive files is this, once you buy it, you don't have to buy it again. So even if printing it once is around the same price, the second you print it a second or even 3rd time, you'll have saved money still.

All the files are gone. At least the ones you had to pay for. Maybe he will repost them as free?

I'm feeling the itch to start a new 40k army, but i have no clue which one so I am going to 3D print a battle Iine unit proxy from my short list of factions to see if I like painting them, and then print a full proxy army to play test with before investing in a g-dubs official army for tournament play.

Although these files are expensive for stl they are totally worth it considering the level of details. This is not a scan as plenty of people mistakenly think, this as been created by digital hand so it must have taken a lot of time to make all those tiny details since they are not an object or Armour or mechanical part, being organic they are more rounded and more difficult to create. Like cloth and cloaks, there are not a lot of great ones because it takes skill and time to create a natural shape

4000p of tau cost me 150$ worth of resin, 20 dollars worth of IPA and 40 dollars worth of stls. Buying original minis would have cost 1600$

​@@roytorres4714 mine are almost indistinguishable from the originals, except the heavy battlesuits have more dynamic poses, as components can clip into each other when assembled, leading to a greater freedom of movement in the joints, one riptide is flying on an upscaled inceptor smoke plume, the other has this hemispherical energy shield effect, too bad I cant post pictures here

Also worth noting is that many of the STL files from these creators go on sale, which GW never does, so even the 50$ ones could be had for 30 or so every once in a while

Another source if you want an alien hive suitable for far future grim dark play are the ones from One Page Rules. Not exactly a clone of the nids but has a familiar flavor and I believe they usually make sure to make a proxy for each GW model for their line.

Something that got pointed out is it could also be due to "the creator" messing up recently. They posted a paid file for Screamer Killer poses....and used the name Screamer Killer. So honestly it could be a bit of both, this vid highlighting an already known creator (as there's no way GW didn't already know of their existence), and the naming of a recent file giving just enough cause to get the strike. However I'm not GW's legal team so it's honestly all just speculation .

Nope they are gone. From the looks it seems he also doesn't seem to want to put them up again. Unless I'm mistaken. He want's to create new versions instead that are essentially quite "similar" and interchangable with the offical kits from the angry company... Don't know how to feel about this, since his original sculpts are/were far superior but unless a kind soul shares them with us were f*cked....

Popular creators get taken down fairly regularly, I bought all bar a couple of the files after watching the early videos so I think what you’ve been doing promotion wise has been double edged sword. Hopely the creator can bounce back in some way.

2 questions. 1) What army do you not have? 2) can you do adeptus mechanicus video one day?

ok I have a quick question about 3D printing in general. The curing process, if I am correct, requires a UV light. Why not use clear resin so that the UV penetrates the entire model?

Seeing as how they can't be normally purchased anymore, you could say that they've become rare and even more valuable now...". I don't like thinking this way, but we have seen this kind of thing too many times already. He had to know he was drawing a huge bullseye (from a company that refuses to define their IP clearly and is super litigious vs those who can't afford to legally defend themselves) when he made this video. Hope it was worth the ad revenue and any possible "extras".

So how much does it cost?

When your sculbs are That beautiful You don't need to charge a lot of money because plenty of people will purchase it And people complaining about oh the creators files got taken down The person can always make a new profile and re-upload them As long as he did not delete the files from his own computer And also he just has to change the name of the file for the post So while yes you can blame Sam here For some of it but at the same time GW Checks those websites regularly I mean I was able to find everything for my grey Knights army My sisters of battle And the iron warriors that r pre heresy style All for free files And they look 95% as good As the official models the only thing I'm paying for is resin I also found plenty of tyranids files for free And the sculpts look almost as good as this one And I mean sure I only get like 1 or 2 poses Not like 7 or 8 As the ones you have to pay for But I can very easily go into A 3D software program And edit the position of it

Ok. You say they are expensive, but it's still less than the overpriced plastic one and better looking, plus as you say, you can print as many as you want for just the cost of the resin afterwards. I'm 61 and have been modelling since my early teens, mainly aircraft and armour but I have bought the odd plastic model from 'that' company and I look at them and what strikes me about them is thick sprue gates and soft sh*ity plastic that is not good to sand and of course overpriced. Usually thick sprue gates means low pressure molding usually associated with low volume run kits. I built one of their 'tank' kits once and i look back now and smile at the 20-30 pieces (if that) that made up the kit and took a couple of hours to assemble. I have just been working on a modern AFV that had full interior detail, separate track links and the kit was made up of over 500 parts including etched metal detail parts. Different type of model I know but this kit only cost around £50 and took the best part of three months to finish. I find it incredible that there are these talented people out there creating these fantastic models. I'm not a gamer but enjoy printing and painting this kind of thing. The only problem I have is finding these great models for the obvious reason they don't want to be named. I think more and more people will go down the printing route as prices for printers drop. I saw a review of one for under $100 the other day. Ok, it's not a 8/12k but would still be able to print small figures which would be perfectly acceptable for table top gaming. Thanks for an interesting video.

The video was not worth it, losing the Creator :'(

I plan on making two armies. One being a Tyranid army, the other a Chaos army. It will cost me a lot less than even this, because I will make my own files. Also will purchase a few other files, my models will vary greatly because I will put a different spin on my models also through purchasing different bug models, my armies will be vast.

Since the files got nuked now, does anyone happen to know a third party I could get them from?
