I suppose you already alluded to what you want to do in the future but have you ever thought about becoming a pilot or getting another job in the aviation space (ops, ground crew, cabin crew, management etc)? it's great once you can book hotels/hostels - you can do longer trips! flight are so much cheaper in Europe than Australia... but also so many airlines!
