There has been a lot of discussion as to whether KZreadrs get paid when you skip ads. This is what I know from the google support forums. "With TrueView in-stream ads, you pay when a viewer watches 30 seconds of your video (or the duration if it's shorter than 30 seconds) or engages with your video, whichever comes first. " This basically translates that advertisers only get charged when the full 30 seconds is watched or if a use clicks on their ad. If you skip after 5 seconds then they get charged for 5 seconds which I assume is such a small amount that after we take our cut of 55% of 1,000 views it does not amount to much. That being said I want to clear up we do get paid somewhat but just a small fraction and they don't mention how much it is charged at so I'm not sure :)!! Hope this helps clear up some of the speculations :) This area is ALWAYS changing so this information may be outdated very soon if Google changes their policies so it's always important to keep up to date if you're curious about these things :)

This was a great explanation. She doesn't flat out say the numbers but if you follow along, you can get it. Basically if you have 1 million views, 600,000 of the views are counted. Divide that by 1,000 views (how they get paid) and multiply it by anywhere from $1-$5. So as an example, for every 1 million views you get, you can make $600-$3000 on your video.

She legally has to. Any monetized youtube account holder is legally not allowed to tell exactly how much they make or have made. It is in the terms of service.

But then the title is pretty misleading, isn't it? I'm sure that a lot of people who clicked on it did so because they really wanted a specific number, and wouldn't have otherwise been that interested in the video.

I remember watching this video back when you were under a million subs. I bet you're making WAY more now! You should do a video on that next! Congrats on 11 mil subs!!! Haha, this video was so knowledgeable, I'll be honest, KZread is my first job, straight out of Highschool.. I hope to make it full time, I tried to make it full time but I doubt it'll even put food on the table for me CURRENTLY, so I guess I'd have to get another job for now.. But until I make it a lot bigger, somewhere like where you are at right now, I'd make it full time (Even though I'm posting twice a week) I know 2016 is going to be my year! Your story and how you stopped your 6 figure job for KZread and your drive for KZread really did give me a boost in mine. Thank you so much for this video, I hope to actually make a video with you or something in the future! :)

All about setting up multiple flows of income, AdSense, affiliate programs, products or consulting, especially e-products with minimum start up costs. Then scale upwards in volume and extend your reach across many platforms (Facebook, IG, Twitter etc). Be great!

Your advice is not sugar-coated.. Being a full-time youtuber needs commitment. I like what you said that whatever industry you are in will defntly make u earn a lot...that is a fact! I am a nurse right now but I feel like I wanna do youtube full-time. I am starting with small baby steps... Thanks Wengie!

+Daniel Iliev That's cheap compared to NYC standards. Translates to $1,740 a month US. There are studios in my neighborhood that cost $2,000. One bedrooms are $3,000 and up. Regardless, $1,740 is a lot of money to be paying for an apartment.

i really hate the aspect of paid for views because people pimp out their kids and pets trying to get viral videos. it's only entertaining if they didn't intend it to be viral, and now people are trying so hard. plus you can buy views so it's like an investment in yourself. in general youtube was cool when it first started but now it's become so commercial and infested with people who steal content to make money, the entire internet is overflowing with this. it's an oversaturated market. that being said, I like this channel, and this girl. I like more of these channels and less channels of morons commenting on other people's content, that's not original.

+annie b I agree with you 100%, You Tube has created some real monsters. I didn't realize people got paid until recently and then it turned me off. People throw up titles like "kissing my mother" and other sick things to attract viewers. It's a real pimp mentality now.

I agree with you 100%. I still remember those days when really great videos struggle for months to reach 1M while pretty much any pointless video with controversial titles now reach that within a week.

My dream is to be a youtuber which can never come true because my parents don't allow me to show my face to random people
