How Much Do Olympic Athletes Make?

Ойын-сауық

Welcome back, Richest fans! Very soon, after a year delay due to the global events, the Olympics will be back in Tokyo, Japan! When we see the athletes participate in the various Olympic sports, it’s easy to think that they have a mountain of cash to go along with representing their country. After all, Usain Bolt is worth millions. However, that’s often not the case. In fact, some of the athletes’ salaries mean they’re financially struggling. Today, we’re going to look at the history and facts of the Olympics and the rewards that some countries pay for their athletes to find a place on the podium.
Now for the spoiler paragraph. If you like surprises, we suggest you stop reading and watch the video multiple times. We start by looking at the United States. We’ll see how after representing her country, Ronda Rousey had only her car to live in. We then have Great Britain. We’ll see how they don’t offer incentives for getting an Olympic medal. Instead, they offer their athletes more funding. However, not everyone is so lucky. We then have Germany. We’ll see how they increased their rewards for their Olympians. Yet some athletes believe it’s still a big problem. We then have the nation to offer the biggest financial incentive with Singapore. One of their athletes won a gold medal and beat the legendary Michael Phelps at the same time. We’ll even explore how billionaire Peter Lim is helping to fund the next generation of athletes. Finally, we’ll briefly see what the actual monetary value is for the bronze, silver, and gold medal during the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.

This is no different than any other profession, at least in the US. You sacrifice and put in the hard work. Along the way, maybe you find a sponsor. When you're successful, you earn the benefits. You get paid for touring, speaking engagements, your appearances on TV, on commercials, and maybe even a book deal. You can turn professional after your Olympic career is over. You can either be a coach, open your practice, or create a non profit similar to what Nastia Liukin did. The door of possibilities have been opened and it is up to you to make the most of it. I think this is the reason why the US is so successful in the Olympics - we send athletes who are there to win it.

This only applies to the most prolific, most successful sports stars, who happens to have participated or will participate at the Olympics. That's only the top 1-5% of all Olympians in Olympics history. Olympians are meant to be 23 years old and under with three overage participants (for Olympics football, and maybe other team sports like baseball, hockey, basketball, volleyball, rugby, swimming medley of four swimmers per team, pass the baton 100 X 4 metres with four runners per team, etc..). So not many successful young guns, unless they play for a successful rich football (soccer) club (and is a top marquee player), a successful basketball player for a famous basketball team, top marquee player for first grade baseball, etc......

This video is talking about how much “Olympic Athletes make from their country paying them” Don’t be deceived, most Olympic Athletes are sponsored and make several thousands of dollars/pounds monthly. So for the people saying “I make more than Olympic athletes” no you don’t, your only considering how much they make from this video, and not considering all of their other sponsors.

look here's the reality if you're a young talented athlete they will scout you give you scholarship to this school and take a course in which 90% self study and 10% catching up lessons so you can focus on practice and paint you a beautiful picture after competition after competition until you broke give u consolation and hesitates to hire u as an instructor depending on your record of medals

The delta between the Broadcasting $$, is going to someone and without a legitimate expense that command those $$, so one, or group of folks are making a significant profit. Collective bargaining and or in the case of NCAA a large lawsuit was the only means to force that organization to the negotiation table. If all else fails their is power in collective activism. Protest.
