    I think the system takes advantage of medical residents and fellows. Yeah, you get a big salary increase after you are done with all that training but really? less than an average nurse salary with a 4 year doctoral degree and 5 year residency... thats crazy. Question though, did you sign a non-compete? Thoughts on that?

  • @SK-mr6ov

    @SK-mr6ov

    Thomas Petersen take advantage not necessarily bc they are getting the training but I agree that they should be payed more for there and honestly I feel like surgeons who save lives are also underpaid, they should be making at least a couple of mill, I mean there so many careers that are not as important as surgeons who get paid more so why can’t doctors

    I’m debating on being a Physician assistant, or a MD. I’m a student at UTSA and hopefully I can shadow both of the professions to have a better understanding of them. Dr. Antonio J. Webb, are students allowed to shadow you? If they are allowed to would you be okay with it if someone asked you? Also if a student wants to shadow a PA/MD what is the right way or professional way to contact the individual? Through email or in person? I value your opinions and would love your advice on this. Thanks 🙏🏾

    Even though you are a new doctor fresh out of residency, do you feel completely prepared to take care of all types patients by yourself if needed? Or do you really feel like a rookie after all those years in med school and residency? Do you have older friends that can answer the question? For example, a doc looking back; does the experienced doc thats 10 years out of residency feel so much more prepared compared to when he just finished residency? Thanks

But once I found out how little ALL the European countries pay doctors compared to us in America... I decided not to do it. Perhaps if I grew up in Europe I would think differently but here in America the road to becoming a doctor is long and expensive... Sacrificing so much to get where I am now just accept less pay for it wouldn't feel right.

    Just depends on your specialty. It’s not required. Just makes your more marketable and improves your skill set. 90% of orthopedic surgeons do a fellowship. 10% of people go straight to work as a general orthopedic surgeon

    Dr. Webb, I really have this desire to study medicine but the debt that I’ll be facing is what scares me. Good thing is that as a veteran, my post 9/11 bill covers my education up to 36 months. But I’m using that for my degree in radiology. I’m just all lost on what to do.
