I just picked up .3 carats in a 14 k white gold band for $300. Retail is $1200 on it. Thanks to this man alone, I was way too confident. And it worked. Thanks Trax.

In the gem and jewelry Business it's truly about being knowledgeable about what you are buying on Wednesday I'm purchasing a 2ct standard round brilliant cut white diamond in a white gold setting it is a e color great cut vs clarity non florescent and no treatments for $3,800.00 I know the normal wholesale for the stone is at least $16,000.00 but I already have my gem dealer in Thailand that is going to trade me for a Winza Tanzanian bicolor sapphire that's untreated that is normally around $20,000.00 I don't like white diamonds or working with them but when the offer came up I was honest about the retail vs wholesale and what I was willing to pay for it compared to actual value she wants to sell it before she goes on vacation so I'm getting a great deal plus I'm just sending the diamond not the setting. I will be able to make a very nice profit but it really is being honest firm and knowledgeable that is everything. I tend to mainly do custom and precision cut gemstones also I make mokume gane for other jeweler's. I didn't set out to be a jeweler a lapidariest gemologist I worked in the corporate world for over 20 years and retired at 41. I was born with a essential tremor in my hands my doctor said I needed to get a hobby that would make it so I had to control the movements and build strength. So I tried all sorts of things hated almost everything then I started making coin rings progressed to setting gems I purchased in them then making other types of jewelry using different materials then I thought why am I buying cut gemstones and learned how to cut gemstones myself then to learn more techniques and know exactly what I was buying and the quality I went through courses I now have several degrees and certifications and the best part is teaching kids to make their own jewelry I love it I provide all the materials and it is so satisfying getting kids into gems and jewelry making and yes if you are 21 or younger I think of you as a kid lol it's called getting old 😂 lol. Cutting the best gemstone out of a piece of rough for me is so satisfying as well as having some absolutely amazing mentors it now is at the point that I am only allowed to talk to my son's and life partner for maximum of 15 minutes a day about gems because I can turn anything into a conversation about gems and go on for hours. So just keep learning researching and learning. I also realized how often we pass agates jasper carnelian Jade moonstone varietys of quartz countless gems rough every time I go to beach hike in woods or even in the landscape rocks outside cracker barrel lol I found a blue banded agate that weights over a pound Saturday just sitting with other landscaping rocks I cleaned it brought it in with me asked them if I could buy it they looked at me like I was crazy but explained it was a valuable rock and they said don't worry just take it, that is one thing always ask you will rarely if ever hear no, but it is only right also you never know when that will lead to a special order or something along those lines. Sadly there are a lot of bad players in the industry like Harlem Bling I am sick that everytime I watch a video on Traxs channel and their advertising always pops up I went to the site watched a few videos and what they are selling is not anything I would ever handle or purchase and they flat out don't know or lie in some videos like they said mossinite is only lab created that isn't true at all it's extremely rare to find natural but they are available and the costs matches the rarity. Sorry for rambling also for spelling and grammar mistakes I had a stroke and it effected my writing amongst other things thank you

@@brgo_1787 no I have been asked to review products and show alternatives for expensive tools what the gemologist tools are and ways to make them yourself or purchase for much less costs also the tricks I use for making much higher profit margins doing Lapidary work and buying rough or recutting badly cut or damaged gemstones. I like teaching and lecturing in person I also have been extremely lucky with the contacts I have made. My hero Mentor was Dr Hanneman he was a chemist that made tools for gemologist his entire philosophy and life's work consisted of making tools and coming up with techniques so that anyone could afford to become a gemologist without spending thousands of dollars on tools. One of his greatest achievements was creating a technique known as "The Hodgkinson eye method" Dr Hodgkinson came out with a tool called the gem eye it was the first electronic refractive index detector and could detect higher and lower ranges then a manual Refractometer. They met at a gem convention where he Dr. Hodgkinson was premiering his machine Dr Hanneman said that is amazing every pawn shop and jewelry store should have one it was in the 1970's it was portable and $379.00 that was very cheap for what it could do for any gem business. Hanneman said to Hodgkinson but you know you can do that without any tools just using your eyes, Hodgkinson said no way that's nuts Hanneman said I bet you I can I will show you later today they actually were out drinking having fun with other gemologist and finally got back to the Hannemans hotel at two am and he turned down the lights opened the curtains just a small amount so A slit of light was coming in to the chair he sat in and Hodgkinson started handing him a spinel and told him it was a sapphire Hanneman put the gem up to his eye and said no it's spinel and he started handing him gem after gem and twenty gems later Hanneman identified each ones specific refractive index if it was double or single refraction even some other features along with positive identity of every gem without any tools other then his eyes. Hodgkinson was amazed they stayed up all night and Hanneman taught him how to do it. They became very good friends and business partners Hodgkinson went and lectured all over about what he called Dr Hannemans method but because Hodgkinson was the one out teaching it even though he always gave the credit to Hanneman It became known as "The Hodgkinson eye method" this always upset Hodgkinson because it didn't matter how many times he corrected gemology articles science and chemistry magazines articles etc Dr Hanneman thought it was funny. Hanneman was a chemist Hodgkinson was a gemologist Hanneman never had any formal training in gemology but the partnership between the two came up with countless very inexpensive revolutionary in design or method or new uses of tools. So I know how to teach their methods show people to make certain tools themselves use gem tools to do more then designed for to sixth graders or college students hobbiest or professionals . I am very animated and love teaching hearing my own voice and sharing knowledge about gems making jewelry Lapidary arts etc and doing it on a budget and I am always a smartass because I was taught only two types of people smart or dumb asses and I make constant jokes wisecracks and sarcasm. I'm also the definition of ego and idd look them up in dictionary there is my picture. So I am getting ready to start making those videos teaching people these methods and tricks. I also am looking for a personal apprentice in California to teach and eventually take over my business. But let me be clear I am happy to advise anyone through video chat or things like that if not in my area I love gemology hate white diamonds btw also I only work personally with natural Untreated gemstones or just heat treated and in the case of emeralds lightly oiled. It is easy for anyone to get ahold of me on Gmail my username is Davidariamir so if someone sends me a message I have no issues giving my phone number and doing video calls lol there is a rule outside of gemology or geology lapidariest friends I'm only allowed to talk for maximum of 15 minutes a day with my two sons and my best friend because I can turn anything into a conversation about gems and yes this is way too long of my rambling lol sorry for that also spelling and grammar mistakes I had a stroke and it effected my writing amongst other things thank you

“Dated” is much better than some of these newer pieces. I sell and deal in antique jewelry, and I guarantee those pieces are gonna have better stones and better quality. I love watching these videos but I can see that these newer things can’t compete with what the jewelers were doing over a hundred years ago ❤🎉 happy for your recent additions

Max, how great to see you on your channel again. I have been hanging out for a TraxNYC fix. As usual, super informative. You are genuinely helping to re-shape the diamond industry, while busting myths. I just adore you and your young team and the energy thay goes into making TraxNYC what it is today, under your leadership and stewardship. You are MAX a bloody legend, as we would say here in Australia. Your channel is priceless and gold!

Also a ROYGBIV bracelet would be cool. Similar to the 4 seasons but colors instead!
