How much did Vocaloid producers improve ? Comparing producers' first song with their most recent

Музыка

We all know that popular Vocaloid producers like DECO*27 and Giga make great songs but were they always this good ? In this video I'm showing the first song, the most popular song and the most recent song of 10 different producers so you can see how much they improved over time.
Some of them were clearly not that great when they started and would not be as popular if the quality of their songs didn't improve. But it proves that a producer who is not very good today may become way better in the future.

I'm working on a part 2 with 10 more producers. I'm trying to finish it for the end of January. Some people seem a bit confused by the most popular song for some producers so here are the actual numbers. Those numbers are from January 2022, 6 months after I made the video because that's when KZread decided to recommend the video to more people. The difference between old and new songs was a bit bigger when I made the video. I'll write a separate reply for each producer and I'll put them in the order of the video so it's easier to find the producer that interest you.

DECO*27 Top 3 on Niconico : 1. Mozaik Role, 11.8M views 2. Ghost Rule, 10M views 3. HIBANA, 6.9M views Top 3 on KZread : 1. HIBANA, 46M 2. Mousou Kanshou Daishou Renmei, 39M 3. The Vampire, 37M Top 3 on Spotify : 1. Ghost Rule, 17.6M 2. The Vampire, 12M 3. HIBANA Reloaded, 8.5M Conclusion : there is no doubt HIBANA is number 1 if you count only official uploads but Vampire will most likely take that spot in the future. If you also count reuploads and fan works Ghost Rule has a bigger presence but it's hard to tell if it makes it more popular than HIBANA or not because of the huge amount of videos I would need to consider so I counted only official uploads. And for simplicity I used the same rule for each producer.

Hyper Reality Show, 1.2M Note : Hyper Reality Show was above OGRE at the time I made the video Top 3 on Spotify : 1. Corpse Attack!! 1.7M 2. Hyper Reality Show, 1.2M 3. Living Ghost is Alive, 771k Conclusion : There is a surprising difference between each website but I thought I was an angel is clearly above because of its much higher view count on KZread.

cosMo Top 3 on Niconico : 1. The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku (LONG VERSION), 10.1M 2. The Singing Passion of Hatsune Miku (LONG VERSION), 2.2M 3. Rampage of Kagamine Len (LONG VERSION), 1.9M Top 3 on KZread : 1. R.I.P. Gossip Sea, 13M 2. THE END OF HATSUNE MIKU (2018 remake of Disappearance), 10M 3. The Intense Voice of Hatsune Miku (2018 Remake), 7,2M Top 3 on Spotify : 1. R.I.P. Gossip Sea, 1.6M 2. MACHINEGUN POEM DOLL, 650k 3. SHOUSHITSU (I don't know why it's called like that on Spotify, that's Disappearance but they didn't use the full title for any of the songs of that album), 412k Conclusion : I can see why people in the comments were confused but as you can see Gossip Sea is above if you take the number 1 video only. If you start adding views from multiple websites it's still above if you count the original and the remake of Disappearance sepparetely but it becomes number 1 if you count it as the same song. But I was using the same rule for each producer so I put Gossip Sea in the video. Also note that Machinegun Poem Doll (which wasn't out yet when I made the video) is getting views extremely fast and may become number 1 in the future.

Pinocchio-P's one of the few producers where the original vocaloid song is up to par with real people/singers for me. He just has a way of producing and tuning that instantly allows me to recognize it and it feels like it's a perfect fit for the song rather than taking away from it. Inabakumori is another one which hits a similar sweet spot I've recently found.

THANK YOU FOR PUTTING YURRY. As a huge fan of him I'm really happy Also the video is really interesting, I wonder if a part 2 will ever be made in the future. Is cool how producers first songs like Pinocchio, cosmo or deco are very basic at first, but they still have something in common with their current style, being voice tuning, or the song's melody. They really resambles their future style.

Mmm...🤔 I feel the years specially on pinnochiop, but in all of the examples, the characteristic style of vocal is here. Pinnochiop more sweet, nanawo more robotic, Deco more human, omoi more vibrato. The aspects that have improved the most are the soundtrack, above the vocal.

i need this this off my chest. Does anyone think mothy(akuno-p)'s tuning is worse than before? He redid some of his seven deadly sins songs and they sound really bad. Like evil food eater conchita or the tailor of enbizaka. The voices do this weird high flip and low dip and they sound nasally, more mechanical, and even less real when they do the talking bits. His new songs sound okay and they fit more to the newer tunes he's making but any of the remakes is like...no. I can't tell if I'm feeling nostalgia for the older songs.

gotta say as an UtsuP fan his work has improved quality and vocal wise but music wise GOD DAMN its always a good day when a new song is put out by him. PinnochioP very much improved and imo i prefer his newer songs over his old works. DECO, cosMo, LIQ, and HachiojiP i got into their music a bit late so hard to tell how much they improved. Giga OMG THAT MAN IMPROVED. irucaice and YurryCannon i have not listen to. Man NayutalieN iirc the YT was taken down and that was sad but damn i love their music, not much change though but still banger songs. Also UtsuP older songs are still good, i still say that his best album is Traumatic, but DAMN Unique fucking kills it with the tracks it has. His weakest album though is Galapagos, as much as i love some of the tracks it just doesnt hit like the others.
