you can harvest crops with the iridium scythe

so the NPCs have new dialogue for a lot of stuff. I actually got married the same day as my fish pond got built, so I went around the town and the villagers were like "omg congrats on the wedding" except Pam who was like "hear you got a fish pond now. I love fish ponds" which feels very in character

Honestly, Demetrius being outside in a Hazmat suit during the green rain in year 1 makes the fact that no one is bothered by it during subsequent years make sense. He analyzed the event and realized that it was harmless, then let everyone else know.

My most disliked floor in the mines is 100. I swear, the only reason a lava eel can be found is because the trash gets tired of being perpetually fished up and manifests an eel out of itself

I only fish with the training rod and then the iridium rod with trap bobber. Fishing is a year two activity for me.

Mentioning Demetrius as the first to likely to die in a horror movie is probably an unintentionally hilarious callback to the fact that historically he would indeed be the first to die 😂

Fun thing I discovered is each house gets a smoker on the riverlands farm and you can remove them unlike the furniture. I started my file with 7 smokers.

fishing became even more awesome with the new machines. smoked fish+angler+artisan is a mean combo. 8 smoked gold quality sturgeon is already 10k. and now with the bait maker, expensive fish like super cucumber and sturgeon became extremely common. i still do the usual starfruit strat in summer, but fishing is really bringing the cash

Great video. You should definitely do a 200 days follow up so you can fully show off all the new stuff like the desert festival (by far best holiday in the game) and different masteries 😁

If you bought the wood and stone you need for the coop, bought the coop itself, and bought 2 chickens it would cost you 10,600. The fish smoker recipe alone is 10,000 but you need hardwood and the jellies to craft one. And that's like the worst case scenario since you'll almost certainly have the resources on hand just from your day to day gameplay. Yes, you'll want a coop eventually, and they definitely make a lot of money with the machines and artisan, but the fish smoker can make a tooon of money in such a short period.

​@@Leapalot yeah having the absolute worst farm layout to just do the most boring skill in the game using just one smoker is totally the ideal playing style sure sure sure...

Tea saplings are actually better to plant now since you get them back when you chop them. You can place them, harvest tea for a season, make it into to tea, sell it with artisan and then sell all the saplings when you don’t need anymore.

That was fast. Didnt expect a 1.6 100 days this soon 😊

A fun video, congrats on meeting your goals. I was a little disappointed that you didn't move to the full year (112 day) format a lot of other Stardew players have moved to though.

I did consider it! Those extra 12 days would have given me a lot of leeway to start working toward other goals, but the way I planned out the run I knew I could get it all done in 100. And selfishly, I was feeling pretty ragged by the time I hit winter to be honest. Late nights and early mornings. 😅 Thanks for your comment, I'll have to keep that in mind!

with the new dialogue changes, talking to caroline the day after the grange, she'll say pierre is not happy with losing to you (obviously only if you won) but it was a really cool detail to run into

i think the museum in animal crossing new horizons when it's empty at the start is VERY sad, maybe that's it?

Just a heads up btw, the Speed-Gro fertilizers can be placed on a seed even after planting, so can the Retaining Soils. Only the quality fertilizers are locked for before planting.

Fun fact about ginger island, CA added 3 tent kits in a crate in the jungle, so even if you don’t unlock the farm house you can sleep the night on gingerbread island

You have crazy luck. I go through the trash every single day and I’ve never ever gotten a trash hat in any of my saves. And usually I get an ancient seed pretty early in the game but I’m at the end of year 1 and still haven’t gotten one.

Yeah I thought they were a common thing at first too, I got 2 in my very first save. And one each in my following 2 saves. Then my next one I never got one even after like 4 and a half years lol

The smoker is bananas! The dehydrators are really cool too, it's really nice to get your money back in one day when you have a short time frame like this. Definitely not as much money as a keg, but I can use the money right away for more projects!

Might I say that I LOVE the references and such you make throughout the video. You're awesome leap lol

For my first 1.6 playthrough I also tried challenging myself to beat my Fall Year 4 Perfection record back when I first played SDV. I actually was quite surprised that I got the trash hat early on and eventually the trash catalogue during the second year. Funnily enough in the run I also got married in the last day of Fall. I didn't get quite as much done in the first year as you did. I only had 38% when I reached walnut room by Spring 23 Year 2, but to be fair I didn't care to craft and cook and ship as much than making money through kegs and skull cavern runs. I eventually reached my goal and reached perfection in Fall 13th Year 2 and was quite surprised with the minor but still cool additions to the summit cutscene. Looking forward to see another of your runs!

5 minutes in and I'm in awe. Lol I just started this game like a month ago. I have a year 2 farm, but I did start a new farm on my switch. My only goal is to get the Community Center done in year 1 (because I only missed one thing on my first farm) and I'm like... stressing! Lol this is like next level Stardew efficiency

Regarding sturgeon fishing--it's only a good idea on a rain day (even with targeted bait) otherwise the rate is too low and you waste too many fish on bait making. Catfish last all day so we get typically 40-50 (after deducting for bait) but for sturgeon you'd best only expect around 20-30. But the good thing is that super cucumber starts around the time sturgeon ends so you can just minecart down to the beach to continue. By the way, you can still go catfishing in the summer at the secret woods on rain days, so that might be a better idea...

Post Wiki reading thoughts. Riverlands gives a 70% chance of Pelican town fish and 30% chance of Forrest river fish, i.e. almost the same thing. Wouldn't it have been more efficient to go for catfish on the farm itself? Have a set spot? I do get it . On my Riverlands, I only seemed to get smallmouth bass and mostly lame fish.

I know the Riverland farm is kind of a meme, but it was my first 100% farm (before perfection was even a thing in the game, haha) and it'll always have a place in my heart.

Oh this was so fun to see. You should definitely head to the waterfall by the hat mouse on Spring 17 and there's a new secret area in town you should also explore. It probably would've served you better in your earlier days.

1:07:42 Good to know that about fruit trees. I knew that's how tea bushes worked but i never read it on Wiki and you're 1st I've heard it from. It does take a lot of pain out of doing fruit trees. 1:24:30 Oh Dang. Forgor to put pathing on the Riverlands bridges.But it is SUPER cool that GRain sprouted a tree on your dock. Who knows that might be super rare footage if it gets patched out in 1 of the many minor 1.6 patches. 1:28:03 I don't think I've ever seen anyone use a Rain Totem on Ginger Island. I guess I always assumed it was limited to the Valley I'm very surprised that the Giant Stump took till Winter given that its 1 of the easier looking ways to get Stardrop Tea. The video assures me things won't be bugged on console if that happens to me. Sorry for leaving sooooo many individual comments. Wasnt sure if I'd have to resume video sevreral hours later and the Tube has deleted my commentary when I do that in the past by resetting my session of KZread. Think of the effort i put into commentary as a thank you for your effort at creating the 1st 100 days video of 1.6 I've seen. Do know that there's probably only 1 or 2 comments I didn't make because I admitted to myself I was making too many and have been called out at least once for writing too many/too long comments windows. No hard feelings for naming a pig after my favorite (and I LOVE Penny in a green winter coat). While I'm barely willing to accept pigs on a Riverlands to get a trufflefor the CC, Goats on a Riverlands are just blasphemy (unless I'm still confusing myself about CC needs.). While I am going to call you out for switching to kegs around, let's say day 50(agree?)from focusing on your stated goal of embracing the new artisan machines i do know the math just doesn't check out on the new machines and the struggle would've been a bit TOO(is it just me or am I the only 1 who wants Italics that are simple to use in KZread commentary?)real without kegs. I'll most likely reference this video when 1.6 drops on consol and I either resume/restart/both Riverlands and need to get ideas on how to dig myself out of the hole I've put myself in going at whatever meandering pace I think is fun and watch all the struggles on this farm to not get discouraged. I very much do have it in my head that you lost at least 2 things to the waters of the Riverlands, couldn't get coffee or an ancient seed till waaaaay too late and that's the struggle bus of SDV. . The struggle-joy of SDV is real. I really do truly appreciate the work you put into this to be a clown for our amusement (or is the Joe Pesci line entertainment?).

Once you hit lvl 2 foraging you get the charcoal kiln which saves you 50 g by buying wood instead of coal

For sure! It would have been a good idea to bring that with on fishing trips, I was just pretty lazy about that when it could have saved quite a chunk of cash. I will say that I hate maintaining them all the time. Love them with automate though. 😅

The wiki doesn't have good details on the numbers for type chance and I can't seem to find any sort of optimized layout for them (preferably with tapper access). with the dehydrator it seems really good if not at the least fun. 34:51 I'm currious to know if Cindersap had time to properly regrow after your clear cut earlier. From what I've read about green rain the unique trees last for 1 day; there's room to game things if fixed trees on green rain day superceed earlier than the normal regrow cycle.

Sturgeon in Summer is better than catfish, but getting started can be an issue. Once you have Sturgeon Bait though, it goes hard. At 7 you can move to the beach and catch Super Cucumbers. They are more difficult but fetch even more than Sturgeon/Catfish. Stonefish are surprisingly decent too. If you need Cave Jellies, fishing for Stonefish in the meantime isn't too bad. An iridium quality smoked stonefish is 1800g with Angler. Still, even with the bait they are too rare to keep up with Sturgeon/Catfish and Super Cucumbers.

32:52 i had planned to marry Leahon my Riverlands because that's my crabpot play ground so that means my farmer likes to eat what he finds and Leah likes to eat what she finds. But I've never played the game far enough to get married and Penny is my favorite so that's what it'll be most likely whenever 1.6 drops for console and I change my profession to the proper path.

Here’s a tip for new stardew players, Always research the farm your gonna pick before your stuck with that farm on your file forever! Edit: the fact Joja cancels work because of green rain is just so confusing

Dehydrators are really nice if you get a lot of mossy stumps. I can fill 20 with how many stumps i packed together

When you do the clean the water quest just fish in any ponds on the farm I like to use the first farm to easly get the quest done

Molten Jelly is hands down my favorite track. But Forgotten World absolutely slaps too. I love the volcano music so much. Honestly I don't even think it was the best fit, but I needed to get it into the video at some deep primal level.
