the biggest game (and rockstar) development snub of all time has to go to Manhunt 2. despite the violence, it would have been one of the greatest games of all time there was literally too much cut from the final product. still a masterpiece though

The scrapped Avery Carrington mission down to the Gator Keys would probably have meant going to Avery's out-of-town condo park called Shady Acres that is announced on Flash FM iirc.

Damn, the biggest thing I want is getting a playable GTA VC that had all cut content. Even more so than GTA VI....

I've actually seen all this stuff, at least 90% of the dialogues in this video. You just need a mod apk of GTA VC that has all files and dialogues enabled. OR just play V1.03 on PCSX2. It had all the Hatian related stuff. Vice city might not work now because Rockstar has removed all the previous copies from Play Store before DE release. Even sideload versions of VC crash now on Android.

Compared to other games, Vice City have a lot of removed content and it could be nice if someday Rockstar decided to work on them and make it avaiable as an extra for the Definitive Edition to at least make it worth the purchase

All because Rockstar couldn't be bothered to give the Cuban and Haitian gangs their own distinct names, they're not even allowed to say who they are in the later releases of the game. At least they eventually gave the Cuban gang a proper name (Los Cabrones) in Vice City Stories, but nothing for the Haitian gang (who are completely absent and replaced by the Cholos).

Living in east Europe, wasn't a problem here. Because there was no censorship.

I remember as a kid in 2002, I really wanted that beta blue Hawaiian shirt Tommy wears. Looked every where but could never locate it. Seems I was a bit too young to understand beta and finished content.

More such content please. It's amazing to see how much those games evolved, especially in such a short timespan

I remember being like 12 when this game came out and always thought the dialog with Ken and tommy at the beginning in the care sounded cut up. When he says “shit in my face-“ it cuts out so quick. Always thought it sounded weird. Now I know why

The biggest thing to me is that I completely understand the controversy having cuban vs haitian especially with the game being based in the 80's... I recently played the PS2 version 1.40 with that content still in and it just makes much more sense.... without it Avery, Diaz and Umberto make zero sense in some cutscenes and gameplay. Again I UNDERSTAND the things were said were kinda messed up but thats probably how things were in Miami in the 80's and it all went into the story well.

Yes it was suppose to be an extension game to GTA 3 (like a DLC) so it was given 9 months of development time, later on it was decided vice city would be it's own game instead of an add on extension but because it was already scheduled for October of 2002 vice city was made in a serious rush for a full game.

In the first Release all the gang related names are still in. After some backlash they removed those, so we got the haitan friendly version now

Yeah wasn’t cut. Was also not cut on PC if you play with version 1.0. Later releases and patches removed it. Wasn’t made clear in the video.

One thing to note is that if you buy this game on Steam before the trilogy release, it is the 1.0 version with the Haitian Cuban slurs... Vadim M did a full video detailing the steam version of VC like years ago...

6:17 the censored version was very weird because they cut the last part of Avery's line and he just moving his hands around and pretend like he's talking while we can only hear the writing noises from Donald

I think the biker and girl dialogue was cut because Howlin' Petes is in Downtown - no way he could've just picked it up there if the bridges are still blocked.

The phone call with Umberto makes sense in the final version than the beta cuz Tommy got Leo's phone after beating him up. And how did Umberto get Tommy's phone number in the beta? See it doesn't make sense

He said he "heard through the vine of grapes" Meaning he likely heard about someone good at wetwork doing said work, and had someone ask around to get their contact details. or someone Tommy worked for previously is on good terms with Umberto, and gave him Tommy's contact details mentioning his skillset when Umberto was complaining about the Haitians.

the first release of Vice City on PS2 was the uncensored version, though Tracking a copy of it down now, is prly not an easy task. While I certainly I have it, the disc is so scratched it wont run anyway. I def remember the lines from it and it had tear gas as well, which was removed in later versions, because wehn ym first copy got to scratched to run, i got a new copy and it had no tear gas, which made me and my brother be like "where is the tear gas?"

In never understood the real story about vc. Now it makes sense with all that cut dialogue.

I never knew that so much of this game had been edited and how much had been scrapped before the first Final Cut of it was released. It’s almost like a totally different game!

Pre-2004 and Steam versions are Cuban/Hatian unfriendly(before the 2003 Hatian scandal). Every version onward, apart from afformentioned Steam version, is Hatian/Cuban friendly, meaning it has censored text and audio. You can actually get audio, text and models from the original and putting in the newer version, circumventing the censorship entirely.

I noticed when I played it on PS2 it was harder but this remastered version was more flexible

a LOT of these were censored POST-Release; I still own an early copy of gta vice city for ps2 that has much of the "haitian hate" dialogue left in.

Thank you Gaming Investigator, Wow I didn't know they censored gta Vice City until watching this video... I bought the definition version last week played a fair few missions now! All I'm saying is I'm deleting the remake censored crap of my ps4 and reselling it on ebay, going to buy the proper version on my compatible ps3!!! Just wow what made gta Vice City unique has been water down for the light hearted snow flakes.

Vice city imo is the best game and idk if that’s because of the acting talent, or just over all glowing visuals. San Andreas was fun but looked terrible in comparison

my favorite part of Vice City seems like the hardest mission and the hardest part of Vice City to make Burt Reynolds

in the version of Vice City I play Jethro and Dewayne are there but I don't have to kill them the only thing they want to know is if i am the one who bought the place and not much more but hey that was a fun fact

You know what I would have loved? If they kept some of these things and cut demolition man instead😅

It's sad that in video games you don't see real facial expressions and verbal expressions towards a person you hate to death because of censorship and probably all the things that some people like will end up as meaningless as any form of socializing today on the Internet. "BETA CONTENT" it's not beta content, if you have CDs with first release, you still have these lines there.

Not all the Haitian dialogue comes from the beta. A lot of it was censored AFTER the game was released because the Haitians complained about the game. Some of your info is wrong and misleading. Vice City 3.0 is when it got censored.

The dialogue about Haitians is not beta, it was removed after real Haitians protested it.

And the remastered version looks almost as bad

well I wish people would stop going Censor happy I got the version of the game for the PS2 that was by no means Censored at all and I like it better that way hell I don't like it when they Censor Movies or Music I like it better when I hear or see things the way they was first created and to be honest a Censored games take away from the story line of those games besides in my Opinion this is GTA who cares what the Censors think

Has the narrator even played the game? The narrator stays mispronouncing the names of GTA characters. His name is Rosenberg, with rose like the flower. Rose-en-berg. SMH 🤦🏽‍♀️

That is why rockstar is a sneaky horrible company they don't know how to make a good game and they don't tell anything that is in it or what there hiding in the game there so fake

The beta dialogue is better

I hate they left out the beta weapons and they how they made 3 versions of the game…Version 1.40 will always be the best no matter what 💯😒
