Those super show theme songs are the best thing to grace Mario! You know what…….YOU haven’t aged well…

Something about your voice and animation style is so appealing to me. It's like an addiction to watch you explain all the classics to us.

Quick side note: The original Super Mario Bros 2 (the Japanese version) was released to America via Super Mario All-Stars on the Super Nintendo. The Famicom Disk System version WAS released via the Virtual Console on the Wii, Wii U, and 3DS afterwards.

Right!! Super Mario All Stars came with my Super Nintendo that I got Christmas 95!! And Smb2, Lost Level was definitely a challenge as a kid lol!!

Even though the Mario Archie comics sadly didn’t get to happen, The Super Mario adventures comic is everything I’d want in a super Mario movie and I’ve heard the Movie is taking some inspiration from the comic and that has me hyped! :)

Incorrect information at 7:15 Super Mario Lost Levels came out internationally in 1993 as a part of the Super Mario All-Stars bundle for SNES! 14 years before it released on VC in 2007, as claimed in this video.

Fun fact about the International version of Super Mario Bros. 2. It was a prototype for a vertical & horizontal scrolling platform game & the designers put Mario elements into it. But a promotional deal came through with Fuji TV so the team adapted the promotional characters into this prototype. So while Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic had different characters than what would become International Super Mario Bros. 2... ...spiritually this was ALWAYS a Mario game from the outset. That's why you see POW Blocks in the Doki Doki Panic version of the game. That's from Mario Bros. arcade. And if you notice the design of Mario in Super Mario Bros. 3 matches his International Super Mario Bros. 2 appearance in comparison to the one seen Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2. The whole thing with Power Jumps & Holding Objects was carried over into Super Mario Bros. 3 in different ways. Even Bob-Omb who came from International Super Mario Bros. 2 was carried over into Super Mario Bros. 3. So in effect, the Americans got the REAL sequel to Super Mario Bros. while the Japanese got a Hard Mode Expansion Pack as a sequel. That's why I call Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 "Super Mario Bros. 1.2" instead. It's not a true 2 to me. And that's why internationally that game is called "The Lost Levels". Super Mario Bros. 3 perfected the seamless vertical/horizontal scrolling they attempted in International Super Mario Bros. 2. So Doki Doki Panic/Super Mario Bros. 2 will always have more connected to Super Mario Bros. 3 because of that.

Well said. Also, Doki Doki Panic had 2 more Mario elements: the Super Star which carries the same power and effect as in Super Mario Bros 1, and Mario's coins. Did I mention Mario's coins also emulate the exact same 8 bit sound from his first Bros game in Doki Doki? 😎

The Starman & the Coins you mentioned along with the POW Block not to mention Bob-Omb PROVE that OUR Super Mario Bros. 2 was probably the true sequel all along!

@@johnlucas1543 Yes, Mr.Miyamoto was greatly involved. Nintendo of Japan had already canonized the Western version before its release. One other detail I forgot to mention is that Peach's 8 bit sprite in SMB2 was copy pasted or based off of it at the end of SMB3 if you look closely. 🧐

This is one evolution I've been hoping for for quite some time! Can't wait to see how many episodes this one will have, especially compared to the Evolution of Sonic the Hedgehog. Also, one thing I liked from the _Super Mario Bros. Super Show_ was all of King Koopa's (AKA Bowser's) alter egos in many of their episodes. Two of my most favorites are Professor Koopa-arity in _The Adventures of Sherlock Mario_ and Al Koopone in _The Unzappables._
