@@tank2256 Compared to the past century and those before it we're in a pretty peaceful state, but yes I agree, we should shrink the amount of wars as much as possible, and we can do that by ending dictatorships.

To put that number into perspective, over 1.5 million Russians, mostly civilians died in the 29 month seige of Leningrad. A similar amount died in the battle of Stalingrad which lasted onlt about half a year. During the opening phases of WW1 there were hundreds of thousands of casualties. During the Crimean war of 1853 nearly half a million soldiers died in the grueling seige. In the late 20th century millions of people have died due to famines, wars and ethnic cleansing efforts, 50 million Chinese during Mao's rule, 3 million Bengolis during the 1971 war of Bengali independence, millions of Indians during the partition and many more in Cold war conflits. The situation today is vastly better than just a few decades ago, we shouldn't despair but rather be optimistic that the deaths are going down. The world population has expanded rapidly and yet through medical innovations even the most bitter conflicts in the poorest of regions aren't nearly as bloody as the great wars of the past were. This is a Good trend, wars are hard to end but with humanitarian efforts and strict enforcement of international law we can bring down the casualties of these conflicts.

if you think about it aliens would also conduct wars and have things like this, unless they lived in a peaceful wonderous paradise and we've seen how that's worked out A lack of food will inevitably lead to organisms wanting to hoard, creating greed they could start to fight other organisms for food, creating agression if an organism tries to steal their food, they will have to protect it, creating agression, & greed predators exist and will probably be common among life predators are inherently violent and agressive the only way for them to be truly peaceful and perfect(in our eyes) is if they never experience any potential threat at all but then... if another alien comes by that is agressive and will attack the peaceful aliens, the peaceful aliens would pretty much collapse they had never experienced something like this, so they are underprepared for it and now their civilization is heavily weakened or completely gone plus it's only been like 14 billion years the sun has been around for over 30% of the universes current lifetime, as well as the earth life on earth has been around for over 25% of the universes current lifetime we are very early, so the chance of intellegent life being advanced enough to be able to travel between solar systems(which would be incredibly slow btw due to the speed of light being the universal limit and space is BIG) is stupendously rare so uh yeah

Properly it's the Arab-Israeli conflict, the wars involved in the conflict are individually named but never as the Arab-Israeli War (Other than the 1948 one, but seeing a show all Arab states were in a coalition to invade Israel, the description fits), and this current one at least by Wikipedia is called the Israel-Hamas War.

I would imagine that the eras with the smallest number of wars are those we think of as wartime, like World War I & II: because the big countries are fighting, the small wars between unimportant countries that would be happening anyway get aligned with & considered part of the big war, whereas the rest of the time they would be seen as happening in isolation.

Palestine: was part of the nuremberg trials and allied to Germany in 1937 by Amin al Husseini, their grand mufti (as seen on the famous 1941 picture). in 1903-1929 there was a jewish massacre and exiling. the Israeli who returned are Holocaust survivors and the exiles the creation of Israel is usually called "colonizing" when in reality, under the Al Quasa temple is the "temple of solomon" and the exiles are coming back after 1-2 generations of european mixing. there are no "Palestinian" artifacts. "syria philistine" was a name given by Hadrian to Judea, in order to spite jews.

Because there's no such country or state called "palestine". You can't be at war with a country that doesn't exist. And Israel is fighting terrorists - not a conventional army. Therefore, it's a conflict, not a war.
