How many restarts does it take to turn AFGHANISTAN into a LIBERAL DEMOCRACY?

Ойындар

Afghanistan and Liberalism aren't often spoken in the same sentence, but today, we attempt to turn Afghanistan into a Liberal Democracy in Democracy 4 - a political simulator. I'd say it's still a grand strategy game, and well worth a look if you're interested in political simulation games!

What fascinates me about 91.631 is that you managed to pick out a prime number, but not only that, it's also bigger than its prime predecessor by exactly 10, meaning there is only one digit difference. All that is to say, 91.631 is a really cool number.

I really enjoyed this. Afghanistan is the most challenging country in the game. I made countless attempts at this and failed many times. But eventually I figured it out. The trick is to keep the Middle Income voters happy. Giving them mortgage tax relief, health tax credits and school tax credits plus the welfare fraud office will help to win that second election. Great video, thanks for posting 👍

Every sitting party sent their leader to support the wedding, to get some patriotism points in the polls.

1:33 Afghanistan is Sunni I think, but at least with Shia that does not seem too out there. I have heard that in Iran there are a lot of transwomen, since homosexuality is outlawed, but transitioning is legal (obviously forced gender-reassignment is really fucked up, but this entire situation is really interesting imo and shows how even fundamentalists can interpret the same texts differently.) As far as I know their reading is "gender-reassignment surgery is not specifically outlawed (since it was not something people back then could even imagine was possible) so it is allowed." which is kinda neat I guess...

They may not give that much of a choice but it's because they care for that person's health and the society sexual health condition in its entirity. And no, it's not really fucked up, because they do the sexual transitioning surgery and hormone theropy or even phycological theropy for anyone with a condition to make sure of their issue and the solution needed for it and do it all for free. If you knew the many many bad thing that homosexuality and unreasonable transitioning does to someone you would not call what they doing fucked up or something like that.

Afghanistan, like many other non-Western contries, isn't really an ethnically homogenous nation state like people in the West tend to presume. Most African and many Middle-Eastern countries are characterised by a variety of different ethnicities or tribal groups that have been incorporated together, either by an arbitrary colonial power or historic conquest, and are ruled over by a privileged minority who typically were installed by a colonial power or exploited the upheaval it created. With regard to Afghanistan, the Pashtun people (formerly known as Afghans until that name became associated with the multi-ethnic state) occupied lands in the south that were ruled by the Mughal Empire in the east and the Persian Safavids in the west, and took advantage of the upheaval between them to establish an independent state under the Hotak dynasty. They were quickly supplanted by the Durrani dynasty, who expanded the area of Pashtun control and established the Afghan Empire, which was later supplanted by emirs of the Barakzai dynasty who ruled until the monarchy fell in 1973. Despite their political dominance, however, the Pashtuns only constitute about 39% of the Afghani population, barely more than the Tajiks who are the next largest group at 37%, not to mention the dozen others. Although the Durrani dynasty set a precedent of ethnic inclusivity in their empire, it has not always been upheld over the years and ethnic tensions have always continued to exist, with Pashtun governance facing constant challenges by other ethnic groups in the country. Even today, most political groups or movements within Afghanistan are drawn along ethnic lines, with the Taliban arising during the Afghan Civil War to champion Pashtun interests and political dominance, primarily against the Jamiat who were the Tajik faction dominant among the mujahideen, and who thus posed a significant threat to traditional Pashtun hegemony if they were allowed to entrench themselves in the new Afghan government nascent in Kabul. Contrary to popular imagination, the Taliban isn't about religion, it's actually about ethnic dominance with only the trappings of religion.

Just like you are not exactly the same as every other person in your country, the Afghans or Muslims aren't either. Hell, if you want a modern example, just look up Afghanistan before the Soviet invasion when the former king was liberalizing it.
