I've been crocheting for a long long time and the way you hold your hand is so interesting, I've never seen anyone hold yarn that way! I use the knife method but I don't know what this method is called 😂

When crocheting, I wind by yarn 2 times around my index finger. This looks like you need to have a lot of will power and strength in yours.
