Her father does not own the whole country. He is the Sultan of Johore, one of the 14 states in Malaysia . There are a few Sultans ruling some states. They take turns to be the King every 5 years. 2024 is the Sultan of Johore’s turn to be Malaysia’s king.

most of the facts here were terribly wrong. In min. 5:37 " He then PAID THE SULTAN RANSOM of 22 local ringgit or five dollars for the princess" What is this? Ransom?? Did the princess were held captivated?? Do u want the sultan sue you? The Ringgit Malaysia 22.50 are called Mas Kahwin or Mahar or Dowry in Muslim wedding. It is a gift given from the groom to the bride after the solemnization ceremony or nikah. Get your facts right!

You need to have royals blood from father if you want to be king.. if you father is commoner only you mother is royals you cannot be king.. if your father royals and you mother commoner you still can be king.. that what the sultans thinking now his will have commoner grandchildrens that cannot be a kings or maybe cannot be prince and princess either..

I am a Johorean. You got some facts wrong. No matter whom.she married , the Princess and her kids couldnt have any claims to the throne as succession is only throigh the male heirs. So I doubt that was a condition in the pre nup. Secondly everyone who converts to Islam changes their name or rather adds to it like Dennis has done. He is still referred to by his Dutch name in addition to his muslim name

@Peter-pe6pp from an Islamic point of view, there has never been an order for reverts to change their names, as the companions of the Prophet ﷺ were almost all reverts (Cause first generation muslim). I'm Malaysian spouse, mum of Malay kid and I was never ordered by any governmental organisation or municipality here to change my name, it wasn't even mentioned. Sure some people told me I should call myself Khadija or Humayrah but I just ignore those. :)

If you are a Malaysian citizen you need to change your ID( MyKad) with addition of muslim name. Also I have never come across a muslim convert in Malaysia who didnt take a muslim name. Are you a muslim convert living in Malaysia? Citizen?
