Update: I posted a year ago about my struggles with PTSD stemming from military combat and sexual trauma (yes I am a male, and men still experience sexual trauma). I now have a PTSD service dog that is specifically trained for veterans! My dog has helped me so very much! At times, I still wonder How long O Lord, but it is all in His hands!

Waiting on Him in a wilderness season right now. This question rings in my head almost every day. “How Long O Lord. How long.”

Wow! That is all I can say…I don’t know what I expected when I clicked to hear this song,..But it is powerful! The pain is so real (for so many people) and I don’t have words so often but to say “how long oh lord”… Choosing to trust is hard…right, but so hard some days. Those days when you don’t see hope and you cling to faith and long for the day when faith gives way to sight. There are days you don’t want to keep going and pushing/fighting/telling/etc, but you keep moving in faith, walking through the heartache and wiping the tears…That is me tonight. This song has reminded me of what I know and don’t want to know…the “how long” is not for me to decide. This is for the Lord to determine and for me to trust…that’s the hard part. Thank you!

How long? Reminds me of the cry of the martyrs since the 5th seal was opened. We await the imminent 6th seal rapture. Come Lord Jesus!

This is truly the most beautiful song. I am a hospice chaplain, and this is the heart cry of many of my patients and their families, How long oh Lord? but this song says so perfectly that God will restore if we trust. His grace is our song. Thank you for this lovely reminder of God's presence in our suffering.
