2:30 had to stop and laugh. I'm 61 and back when I was about 8 I did this test. I never ran or hid, of course I could have been hit and died. I do appreciate the safety and wish I knew that back 1968. It was a kid bow, blunt type tips...they took quit a while to return. Never near me. It's very difficult to predict the landing, wind, angle and such. I did not have anything to duck under or run to cover, so just stood there. Closest shot near me was about 30 feet. I like your videos because it reminds of my childhood days!

But they could test that really easily beforehand. The exit speed of the arrow leaving the bow should be the same as the speed when it arrives back at the ground (neglecting effects like wind, friction etc).Basically kinetic energy transformed to potential energy and back to kinetic energy. So They just have to shoot the table from very close distance to test if the exit speed of the arrow is enough to pierce the table.

Brings back memories.. Friend and I were doing this one way. There was an old smoke house we used for coverage. We were so small we didn't have the strength to pull the bow, so we laid on our back with the bow on our feet and pulled the string. We shot and ran into the building. Didn't hear anything and we both ran out and the arrow landed between us. We didn't play that game again.

A gang of us used to do that in a vacant lot in the 50’s. If you had kept playing it you would realize that the arrow came down right beside somebody every time, no matter how much you ran around like a decapitated chicken.

So 202 mph = 296 fps which normally would normally require 8" of very dense foam to stop a typical length and weight arrow going through. Crossbow bolt was shorter and heavier - he was dead under that table!

Me and my mates did this on the Barracks field in Warrington years ago. It was only when we saw it vanishing into the blue sky that we realised the danger. There was no table nearby but we scattered PDQ. When the arrow came down it buried itself up the the flights in the soft grass.

@@sumanniks In physics there are four kinematic equations to solve problems like this one: Vf = Vo + a * t Yd = Vo * t + 1/2 * a * t^2 Yd = (Vf + Vo)/(2) * t Vf^2 = Vo^2 + 2 * a * Yd you might notice that there are 5 different variables within the 4 different equations. As long as you know three of the variables you can solve for the other two. Vo = the initial velocity (unknown) Vf = final velocity (we know this to be 0 because that is how fast the arrow is travelling when it gets to the highest point) a = acceleration due to gravity (we know this because it is constant -9.8m/s^2 or -32.17ft/s^2) t = time (8.5s, 12s, 18.5s. However you have to split the time in half because it is the time at which the arrow reaches its highest point, so, 4.25s, 6s, 9.25s). Yd = change in position in the y direction (this is unkown and what we are solving for). you can begin by finding the initial velocity for the given arrow. You do this by using the first equation Vf = Vo + a * t 0 = Vo + (-32.17ft/s^2)(4.25s) When you solve for Vo you get Vo = 136.723ft/s Then use the third equation to solve for the change in position, i.e. the height. Yd = (Vf + Vo)/(2) * t Yd = (0 + 136.723ft/s)/(2) * (4.25s) Yd = 290.535 ft Yd (change in height) of the first arrow is approximately 290 ft. you can do the same thing for the other two arrows. I hope I explained that okay but if you want a better explanation you can KZread (kinematic equations).

I really enjoyed their show and they were funny, they were nuts, and good chemistry between them and they made me laugh.

I kept chuckling every time senor said Cabron. Definitely in good humor.

@@landonhprice - It probably would. It's probably traveling 300 feet per second on the way down, tip first. Straight through the table like it wasn't even there. And into some nice, soft flesh of his neck.
