Born and raised in OKC. Moved to Austin 5 years ago thinking it was the better place, but boy let me tell you… I was wrong. Austin is great, but OKC is far superior in my opinion. Moved back to the 405 two weeks ago. So, so happy to be back!

Don’t forget our burbs! Midwest City 15 min from downtown and I bought a home here for 110, 3 bed 2 bath 3 years ago on a 40k income.

I really hope the legends tower is built, that way there is even more growth and tourism, I mean come on the benefit of the tallest building in American being in OKC is far greater than the benefits of it being in a city like nyc or Chicago, it’s so out of the ordinary that people will have to go and see it to believe it

I’m sure ppl do love OKC but there’s really no NFL team there either. But, to be fair. I have heard that OKC is a city on the rise. I’ve heard they are building a really tall skyscraper too. I’m in Dallas now, was just curious about OKC. Great content.

@iamplaymaka yeah, I hope we eventually do get an NFL team- lots of Cowboys fans here though haha. Also college football is a huge deal here. Thanks for watching!

In order to live great in Oklahoma you have to work outside of Oklahoma unless your family has things set up for you 💕

@livinginoklahomacityofficial The financial opportunities in Oklahoma are as low as the price of living in Oklahoma...most of the successful Oklahoma people I know didn't have success until they moved out of Oklahoma or have clients paying them from other states. Cheap living is the best thing about Oklahoma but that's it.

@fairgodmother as a real estate agent who works exclusively with relocation home buyers, I can tell you that's simply not the case for the majority of my clients. Do the jobs here pay less than where they moved from? Sure. But not to the same proportions of the lower cost of living. As an example, the median household income in California is close to 50% higher than Oklahoma. Sounds great, except their cost of living is closer to 2X that of Oklahoma (or 200%). In other words you might take a job paying only 70% of what it pays in California, but the cost of living is cut in half. That creates a significant margin. The vast majority of people I work with 1. Do not have an out of state job, and 2. Do not have family here having things "set up for them."

@@livinginoklahomacityofficial Are your clients Oklahoma natives? Or did they come from a different state?

  • @livinginoklahomacityofficial

@fairgodmother they're coming from a different state. I am an Oklahoma native. I have also found success in several different industries, without out of state income and without a family "setting me up". I think it might be a bit of a limiting belief to say that someone can't succeed here unless they're given handouts or making out of state money. That's a bit of a generalized statement based in a belief.

Depends, they have secured funding for it but all they need is approval form the city which I mean come on there’s no way they don’t get that approval, but even then I’m pretty sure the height will be based off demand

@btcfromokc I'm sorry that's been your experience. That's a pretty generalized statement, are you referring to a specific industry? Oklahoma is routinely considered a top 10 lowest cost of living states, and generally considered to have a relatively robust economy. Also usually in the top states mentioned for best states to start a business. I'm curious, have you ever lived in any other states as an adult?
