Ойын-сауық

    John Bezz nope Kamikaze we’re listed as special attack corps in the Japanese Air Force. Kamikazes were the most loyal they were trained to surpress their emotions. They trained seven days a week in planes that we’re flying bombs to dive bomb from 10,000 feet and quickly avert if the target missed. Even take off was harder as they were weighed down my by 400+ pounds of bombs. Tens of thousands would sign up but the training was so brutal that a majority would drop out. The emperor himself visited them and gave them the special forces emblems to all of them

    You know, for awhile, I was so confused as to why/how the Empire, with as big as it was, was so easily be able to be taken down. In Legends, the Empire wasn’t really ever destroyed. But now knowing that Palpatine was setting up the Empure following his death, it makes a lot of sense.

  • @pll3827

    @pll3827

    3 жыл бұрын

    Palpatine was a Sith, first and foremost. His innate desire for chaos conflicted with the message of law and order that he used to control the Empire. If the Empire as it is failed him, he was content to abandon it (if not speed its' demise along). I think he treated his apprentices this way as well. Even back in Legends, he let the Empire ruin itself in a civil war before revealing himself in Operation Shadow Hand. If anything, I think the Jedi Order would fit with the Empire better than they did with the Republic, with their focus on stability and passiveness.

    I'm probably gonna catch flak for this, since preferring anything in Canon to Legends seems to be taboo around here, but I honestly like Canon's take on the Empire's fall more. The "victory" at the end of RotJ feels kind of hollow and meaningless if the Empire never really fell. At least in Canon the galaxy got 30 years or so of relative peace.

  • @Warhammered

    @Warhammered

    3 жыл бұрын

    I still prefer the EU (legends, ugh), version of the Imperial Remnants. Makes more sense, and the New Republic isn't a complete wuss either. So no, this version of 'canon' doesn't make any more sense to me. It's short-sighted and Palpatine was anything but, especially with cloning technology available to him in both EU and canon. Having typed that, I did love the video for it's immersion factor, and the details it got right. But this isn't the timeline I want at all.

  • @cdsworkshop2855

    @cdsworkshop2855

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@Warhammered The New Republic in Canon simply took the same pacifist stance that the Old Republic did after the Sith Wars, so if this makes the NR a "wuss," then the OR was too. Also, having the GCW extend for so long after the timespan of the films invalidates pretty much everything that happens in them. People have said that Palpatine coming back in TROS invalidated the Anakin "chosen one" thing. In Legends, didn't Palpatine come back *multiple* times over a very short time span? At least having 30 years of peace makes Anakin's sacrafice feel meaningful, as opposed to contant war and Palpatine coming back like 5-10 years later.

  • @Warhammered

    @Warhammered

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@cdsworkshop2855 Incorrect. The New Republic kept the Army and the Navy, they didn't disband it altogether like the nu-canon. And no, nothing invalidated anything. In this video, it showcased the many flaws, including visibility; the pilot was blocked from seeing anything beyond what was directly ahead of it. Your featuring, this new game, showed a heads-up display... with a, rear view "mirror", on the top of the many things to keep the pilot informed about the environment around his or her, tiny, fragile, ship. -Now ...the reperpossed into a tank, vessel, has a... slightly, better chance of survival... though still, slim.

    It's actually GRAND admiral sloan and (the last imperial) SUPER stardestroyer plus several isd2s. With her being the highest ranking official with the biggest remaining navy remnant she was not quite a too early pushed rooky or did a powergrab by selfpromotion. Also gayus rex wasn't an official superior in the navy chain of command and she doesn't knowingly carry out orders to sabotage the remnant, also stops following him as soon as she understands the true nature of the contingency plan. From the pure rank n assets situation, she is pretty much disneylucas' stunning n brave female poc version of legends thrawn (like he wasn't colourful enough,lol). That becomes even more clear if we take in cocideration that without filloni ,thrawn wouldn't have made it into the postlucas "filloni"canon wich at the time aftermath 1 2 3 came out, hadn't claimed a secure footing as - the - canon, n the storygroup of the print content was still in believe they would decide what's cannon n where it goes. Not they decide what is until the multimedia - creative executive decides it's no longer. Btw, hadn't she even gained controll over mas? So, at least officially in the fleed n secretly in political rans too, sloan was the head of the empires remain n by their rules every remnant forces, refusing obedience were traitors (like the gouvenour on kashyyyk 4 example.

    I don't feel like Disney's take on how the empire fell is it all realistic. I get that they try to Hornshoe the explanation that Palatine set it all up into the story. But it just seems like the rebellion and it's fleet of maybe 200 ships would have fought a 10 or 15-year war even after the Emporers death as was the case in the old EU. If squadrons starts out a few months after Endor and ends around a year after the battle of endor I just don't feel like 3 months is enough for the new republic to be building their own capital ships & the empire to have completely lost their industrial and training pipeline. It almost seems like endor emperor death would have been symbolic and MAYBE the Battle of jakku should be the turning point not the end of the war. But that doesn't sound like what's coming.

    @Jean Ken - per Disney policy, and freedom to directors and writers, and to film only fans - ALL novels written pre 2013 are now deemed not part of THEIR particular canon (and especially post Return of the Jedi) So from that storyline point of view, there wasn't a Yuzzhan Vong war, a decade earlier... The state of the New Republic must have been pretty nuts early on. I remember hearing about all these civil wars in Africa and whenever the rebels take over they find themselves having to govern and sometimes have no clue what they're doing and another coupe arises. The other issue is the Rebel Alliance welcomed people with questionable and criminal pasts in the beginning but now what happens with them in positions of power? What about the economy, which depended on the Imperial war machine which is now disconnected and off running away from the Rebels/New Republic? Also factor in the confidence or lack thereof in the Imperial Credit after the takeover. And the fact that the Empire nationalized the banks and is now on the run, even if some had money in the bank, they may not have access to it for who knows how long. Sounds like a recipe for chaos.

    Sounds a lot like the latter days of the war for the Luftwaffe. Few surviving decent pilots, insufficient time to properly train new ones, plenty of decent planes, on par or even superior to the allied warplanes, but insufficient numbers, insufficient quality of pilots, dwindling fuel, and in some cases insufficient fuel quality for the jet planes at least. Also for their navy as I recall. Their last new submarine, the type XXI as I recall, had four boats completed before the end of the war but only two were deployed due to a lack of trained crew.

    I love this whole time period in general for Star Wars, especially since it's unexplored, feels very much like 1945 "Endsieg" style, like watching a Star Wars version of Der Untergang. Wish they made it a tad longer in lore since it's about a year from Endor to Jakku, just so we could really jam some solid content in there and explore some characters without having to deal with extremely short timelines.

    who in Disney authorized the choice to have the civil war end just one year after Endor? That has to be one of the biggest wastes! This period is so interesting with the rebellion becoming a real government, the empire struggling to find a new leader and the constant changing of tactics by both sides. Even if it is just a 5 year war that could be so interesting. I also hate the idea that Palps wants the rebellion to win after his body transfer thing using secrets only the Sith knew. Not only does it take away Anakins victory but it means the rebellion only won because he let them too....but thats a whole different issue

    I hope We'll see Imanuel Doza and Griff Halloran in Star Wars Squadrons, Because *Star Wars Resistance have better Characters than the Sequel Trilogy itself and Those characters was not Sidelined.* Doza and Griff went defected either during or Post Battle of Endor. I wonder if they were Imperial Remnants too till they met Venisa and Yeager. Squadron probably takes place before the Battle of Jakku, "5 ABY" the Colossus would still be active at that time. Doza deactivated The Colossus in "14 ABY", 9 years after the Battle Of Jakku. This is a perfect Opportunity of a more fleshed out backstory of Doza and Griff a captain and pilot as underdogs of the Imperial

He grew to be more serious, and responsible Leader. Kaz is a far better leader than Holdo, because he actually communicates with his friends and makes a plan. Doza say it himself Without Kaz's Help The First Order capture the Colossus and put the people work in prison camps. Kazuda Xiono earns my Respect. The show can so much they was most likely going for the Twist that Kaz's Parents are First Order Sympathizers and Centrist Senators funded the First Order it was ties in The Bloodline and Aftermath books. There was a lot of hints and foreshadowing before the show got cancelled. Even Leia Said *"The New Republic Senators are profiting First Order Weapons"* so most Likely Kaz's parents are one those Senators. Kaz's Dad is alive, after Hosian Prime destruction, he conveniently knows and warns Kaz that Bounty Hunters are after him. If There was a Season 3 Kaz's Dad or Parents would tried to manipulate or guilt Kaz into joining the First Order and gives more development the Centrist Senators and the New republic's flaws of demilitarized the Navy. I appreciate Dave Filoni and his Crew putting effort of connecting everything together for Cohesive and Consistency. Resistance even developed and flesh out First Order's Perceptive and Goals with the best Villain of the Whole Sequel trilogy Tierny and and a sympathetic perspective with best character Tam.

    Everyone keeps crapping on the TIE fighter but can't really understand why it was the better ship for the time. The Empire had many capital ships so hyperdrive was not needed. Rebels did not so it was mandatory that their fighters had hyperdrives. Shields don't make a ship invulnerable. They're a 2nd chance. A few hits and the shield is gone. They're to save you from when someone gets behind you. Even the heavily shielded and armoed Ywing was easily taken down if targetted by a TIE. TIEs were faster and more maneuverable than the Xwing. Shields couldn't save you if a TIE was on your tail. You had to have better tactics, comms, and luck to survive. The TIE's twin cannons were plenty to kill every fighter type. Against capital ships they had superior numbers so massing firepower was easy to accomplish. TIEs only feared the Awing. TIE interceptors made short work of those. With no armor and small shields the Awing was more fragile than even a TIE fighter which had heavier armor.
