The latest LEGO modular building finally delivers on years of requests in 10326 Natural History Museum - but is this one for the ages, or does it deserve to be lost to time?
The Modular Buildings Collection has only once before journeyed beyond the confines of a 32×32 baseplate, in 2017’s 10255 Assembly Square. That set arrived across 48 studs, celebrating the 10th anniversary of what was then a Creator Expert subtheme. Normal service has since resumed: every subsequent LEGO modular building has reverted to 32 studs wide, suggesting the bigger template was something special; something sacred.
10326 Natural History Museum is here to remind us that there are no rules - designer Chris McVeigh says pushing to 48 studs wide for a museum was always on the cards - while smashing more than one boundary for one of the LEGO Group’s most idolised subthemes. It’s got a piece count to beat, and a size that can compete, but can it shoulder expectations to take its place on your street?

A lot to people don’t seem to like the color, yet I believe it makes the set. It seems so cozy and perfectly fits into the ‘colorful yet not too bright’ vibe that some of the older Modulars gave off.
They did a great Job, with the museum. Deffinitly my most favorite, from the past 5 years.
Museum color is perfect
I like how well it goes with the hotel. And I also love the way Chris’ enthusiasm about the story telling. I can’t wait to build it
I love those designers interviews and insights. They're so interesting. This one particularly, so thank you for that !
Im so sad I missed the Police Station. Somehow missed it was retiring last year, thought I had another year. Not gonna pay aftermarket prices either, Bricklink used ones in the US are already over MSRP. Oh well.
Lego; “we also consider recent Modulars when choosing a color” DownTown diner 💀
color is great, all modulars in olive green are ahead of the curve
Blooming fabulous stuff from PowerPig himself!
I currently have the police station (amazing build btw), the jazz club, and the hotel and I'm looking forward to adding the museum to my collection! It looks awesome!!
Mmm want to love it but the color, mildly dull facade and oddly proportioned columns bum me out. Also surprised they did an extrawide for the 19th modular as opposed to the 20th anniversary like assembly square (still easily one of the best of all time)
Awesome designer interview, always awesome to see Isn't forestman part of the castle theme? Why is it one of the themes represented alongside castle if its part of castle
I love it
I know I'm probably in the minority, but I'm a HUGE paleontology nerd, and history nerd, and museum lover, and LEGO lover. So when I heard the rumors about this I was so stoked. But, honestly, I'm not planning on getting this set. The color isn't even the problem for me, it just seems too plain. The facade is way too flat and uninteresting as compared to the likes of the police station or the boutique hotel. Just not feeling this one... Oh, well. Saves some shelf space!

I am all of those things as well and couldn't tell you how much I was looking forward to it. And I can also say I'll be saving $400 by skipping this. The colour is a big problem. I saw the reddish brown alternate online and it was way better. But this also seems so plain. The shape is boring, and looks odd on the street. It's too low and wide, and there isn't any detailing compared with the others. The interior is also lackluster, I was excited for the exhibits but I feel they are a let down. The interior should be more crowded.
First
Should have been the 1st $600 modular. It's just too small for a museum. It definately needed a third floor. And a lg bionicle figure would have been better than the dinosaur. Some semblance of a collection(bionicle) should have been represented, since that is the actual reason why we have museums.

Agree, it looks a bit skimpy for a museum. But many people would than complain about the price tag. It is impossible to make everyone happy.

Modular aren’t really realistic in terms of size. The recent hotel has, what, three rooms? Parisian restaurant has three tables, etc. $300 is already a lot of money. $600 would break the bank for most families

Awful idea

I was actually expecting it to be wider as the first double 32 baseplate, rather than another 32+16; A build maybe allowing for 3 windows each side. I just feel it looks a bit... squashed. As for the price, would gladly have paid more for a grander looking set.

Buy two and modify it! It's Lego after all
