How LCBO strike will effect restaurants and small businesses

LCBO workers are on strike for the first time ever, and retail stores will be closed for at least two weeks after the union and employer failed to reach an agreement. CP24's Courtney Heels has more from one of the picket lines in Toronto.

Not true. We deal with alot of bullshit in this trade as well. I don't live in Ontario, but I wasn't off when COVID was a scary thing. I worked my ass off too especially when everyone panic bought just like in this video.

Working at the LCBO is not the same as working at a grocery store. No one would work at a liquor store in Ontario, especially in a big city, for minimum wage. They would not be able to retain employees. It's much easier to work at Walmart, Tim Hortons, Loblaws, etc. and not have to deal with dangerous angry drunks on a daily basis. The small premium in pay is necessary.

    1) It's AFFECT, not EFFECT (this is not the first time too!) 2) I still don't understand the reasoning why the LCBO decided to shut down the stores for two weeks. 3) While I sympathize with with F&B stores, their "cry wolf" is starting to become the similar to the story. They're all complaining that they haven't recovered... after the strike is over, what's next? Are they going to blame the diners for not ordering enough (overpriced) food?

It is difficult to consider a news-media source reputable when the copy editing is so sloppy. The strangest part though is the deliberate choice to ignore the corrections and feedback from the comments section. It's as though they are adamant in their improper use of language. How difficult would it be to edit an "e" for an "a"?
