Nah, "dating ban" is pretty much here just for fans to be calm and not worried that their fave isn't actually dating some pretty idol) There is also no information about dating ban in any other company except for JYP with their 3 years rule (and I think I heard about some rule in YG, but I ain't sure), I've never heard anything like this about Bighit, SM, Pledis, etc.. Dating isn't really encouraged (mostly cause of fans' reaction if they found out), but the main rule is: everything is fine till it's not known publicly.

@@yarikun325 as was stated, if dating wasnt hidden or banned there would be no issue. In the US our music artists date, and are married and have families. It doesnt bother fans, and is actually expected. It's hard to write and perform good music if an artist isnt experiencing life.

@@jonok42 I think it is somehow the downside of kpop industry. In US or even in my country, we stan or support an artist because of artistry and talent. Lots of kpop idols sure have those talents and artistry but their companies attract fans by putting those delusional mindset to them. "They can be ur oppa. Look at them, choose what type of looks u like." They even make idols play some sort of "personality". Damn. If they rely solely in their talents, they can actually debut w/o caring much about image. But the question will be: In a very competetive industry, how would u create ur own fanbase? As bullsh*t at it is, the idols are actually very well aware of these but they agreed. Same goes for senior idols who wants to start a family but can't. The fans are delusional but it will always be their choice if they will choose career or lovelife. I don't agree w/ the bashing and everything cause thats totally insane. But I think the idols know what they signed for when they chose idol life.

But this makes me think aren't there idols that DON'T date too? They make it sound like every single idol date. It just sorta annoyed me how people who date or have dated seem to forget that there are singles in the world... like it's an obvious thing to have a boyfriend or girlfriend... I'm turning 20 this year and I've still never truly been in love. I've had short-lived crushes who didn't like me back and some guys who liked me but I wasn't interested back... just never happened to me! But I'm trying not to be bothered by it anymore. I have priorities lol. I'm trying to graduate university and find meaning to my own life. Finding a boyfriend is at the very bottom of my "necessities."

I think I understand bit of restrictions especially when you just debut and doing well in the business should be priority for those season but if they became to have sertain sucses then entertament should loosen some restriction such as dating. I want see who is my favorit idol choosing their partner. I want to see them in love with someone serious. but they should prioritize being sucsess until they hit sertain point. but I guess entertainment will worry any bad thing or bad image or more problem gonna happen. I want to see my favorit idol having healthy relationship. I don't want them to sacrifice their private so much. I want them to have good life with their private too.

Yes honestly though. Like I’m not saying that they definitely ARE or NOT dating but they are HUMAN as well. It’s sad that some people don’t see them as that and think that they “own” or “can control” them. Like NO they are not anyone’s “property” they are human beings just like you or anyone else. Well, first of all there are a lot of other people, beside fellow idols, who idol can date and information about which wouldn't be so easily found out or spread. Just few examples: dating non-celebs (like daughters/sons of rich ppl, for example) won't be even published in news, it's kind of not really allowed, same gender relationships won't be ever published as well, dating ppl from different area of entertainment world (actors, models, etc) is also harder to track, also there is such thing as "some relationship" which isn't actually dating but a lil bit more than just a hook up but is also harder to track. Plus you should realise how dispatch actually work in case they found a couple: they don't put news about it immediately, they send info about it to idols' companies and ask for money (basically blackmail) if the company wants cover it up and not reveal it to public and then it depends on what company actually wants. Also if you think that sasaengs will reveal everything once they find out idol is dating then it's also not exactly how it works, cause basically they'd do it only if idol pisses them off. So yeah, a lot of opportunities actually)

Definitely managers encourage it (which actually doesn't mean that idols can't be touchy naturally). The thing is that skinship between same gender as a marketing tool (just like a concept of kpop in general) kind of came from Japan (& jpop) to where it came from stuff like yaoi, which is marketed for women a lot. How to say, the implication of smth going on between boys sells very good for females, plus it allows to fans kind of imagine how idol behave in a relationship (or even imagine themselves on the place of one of them) without involving a female figure (and without revealing any info about actual dating, which is dangerous when it comes to kpop) and thus getting jealous, plus it makes an illusion that idol is already taken and thus there is no chance for him to have smth with pretty female idol plus skinship implies that idols are close to each other (which is not always the truth, but for outsiders it looks like it cause in general there is that idea that ppl don't touch or ven hug/kiss someone they don't like). A lot of pluses in overal but main reason is that fangirls like it and pay money to see it. Same goes for female with female skinship, I mean, that's one of popular fantasies for males. I mean, it's kind of a known thing, that managers/company push it, but I still would love to watch a video about it)

I find most of the time its the managers who are the jerks unless they are close in terms of understanding each other in work and struggles of pressure. I seen enough reality shows or vlives of idol groups to know this. It could be as simple as managers walking in and their whole demeanour changes. Like they are scared or very careful of everything they do. other examples like managers not knowing they are being filmed and they look like they are going to hit them, grabbing phones off idols and going through them. Telling a member they are not eating particular dish and they are suppose to be on a diet etc... Of course not every manager is this intense but I mean i would be shocked if idols dont get into arguments with their manager from time to time. IDK ive just seen too many examples of idols that wont say anything back cuz you know 'disrespectful'. Sometimes i think without the idol you dont even have a job but then again some cases its just the managers following rules.

Yes they do know.. Actually they are the one doing bookings in a resto and going with them.. Usually on a not popular place the idols do date especially the well guarded idols.

This is kind of a private topic so I understand if you don't want to answer or talk about this in a future video. But something I have been wondering about is can/do idols 'relieve' themselves sexually? It's something that everyone does (and is healthy for you, to a limit), but I have never heard or seen anyone talk about it in Korean culture or media (aside from dirty jokes). Also, events where a bunch of 'attractive' people come together like the Olympics has shown to have a really high rate of sexual contact (between the athletes), this isn't that different from many of the competitions/variety shows that idols participate in. I've also read in the past that JYPE (as well as SM) make all their idols complete a sex-ed course while trainees (thank goodness). I guess my question boils down to; do idols masturbate/have intercourse, is this allowed or frowned upon by their managing staff or company, how do they manage to keep it out of the public knowledge so well. This is not meant to be a creepy question/topic of discussion but I do realize it is just inherently that way. I guess it just came to mind since this video is on dating, and the whole 'Burning Molka' scandal that has been happening over the past few months. EDIT: From a few replies I can tell I worded my question really poorly, ofc they masturbate, they are human, much like the rest of us... It was more leaning towards does your company allow it (and intercourse amongst idols)? I don't think it would be that out of character for companies to not allow their idols to do such things, seeing as they have no problem removing some other fairly basic things like phones and snacks. Also, when you live in an apartment with 8-9 other members (for example TWICE or Cherry Bullet, or living with the manager) it could be really rare that you ever get "alone time". Question wanted to also lean towards, how do you deal with that as an idol?

There’s an interview from MBLAQ G.O. mentioning that he asks his friends or people around him to buy condoms. Pretty sure that means that some idols are sexually active during their career. And some idols are open about watching porn and that usually leads to masturbation. I don’t think a company would be that strict to restrict that.

Tbh, if I’d be dating an idol, the last thing I would want is someone to know that. Gosh, I get shivers from thinking about crazy fans and public in general knowing me. Hell no! If that kpop boy goes: I really like you, I want to have a future with you! We have to keep it a secret for now but I promise after my contract ends we can be openly together. And I’ll be like: I don’t think so. Just let’s never tell anyone 😬

Melissa S I think a lot of them get to borrow clothes that the company buys for them to wear to get photographed in. As it is know that a lot of idols that are not BTS level famous don’t make that much money. Most idols only wear really expensive peaces once so I think that get them from a wardrobe that the company has and they give them back after an event, variety show or outing.

A few companies do allow their idols to date. For instance, Pledis allows SVT (Seventeen) to date and to have days off. They are just encouraged to be discreet about it.

Can you tell how many days free do idols get as in it dosen't have to be a vacation just kinda not on duty days. Like after music show promos or after an album?

you can also keep phone numbers written up as passwords, just add letters or symbols. Keep in wallet - tada I think all Idols need to date openly. It really will stop the sasaengs except for a few. Right now they are put up as innocent, pure, saving themselves for the lucky fan. Take that away and it will be safer for everyone.
