The fact that zhongli is just negating dmg and therefore was a unit that makes dmg irrelevant with kokomi being not worth because u allready have zhongli is not really true because the reason why zhongli is still to this day better then kokomi in terms of defensive utility is because u not only get a permanent kayle ult u also get a permanent olaf ult the reason zhongli is so strong in lategame content is not because u dont take dmg its because u dont have to dodge cc and therefore have more time to deal dmg thats why shields are always better then healing in genshin unless ur up against corosion the reason kokomi is so strong is not because of her healing its because of her 100% uptime on her offield aoe hydro application the dmg itself doesnt really matter and so is the healing. However its very likely that we will get a unit with similar application that doesnt heal but therefore deals more dmg or provides buffs wich is gonna replace her, most likely in form of the hydro archon, however with the edition of dendro and especially nilou she will always have a relevance in these type of teams because they have a lot of selfdmg, however she will still become more niche in the future.

Btw ocean hued damage can actually go over 27k because it calculates 30k like Bennetts ult 70% hp where you can go over 30k you just need to start under and heal to over 30k

I got her on her first banner accidentally trying to get Fischl cons, first time I got 2 copies in one 10 pull. She spent months unused, fast forward to now she's even in my default overworld team

Something to point out though is that while kokomi has been really strong it is mainly because of the jellyfish. The jellyfish provides strong off field healing, slow but consistent aoe hydro application, lasts for a long time, and buffs your on field characters damage through tenacity and thrilling tales. This was more of a case in which her jellyfish allowed for her to fill in many roles in a team composition especially due to how the following support characters after kokomi have been only off field damage buffers. However the actual design of her entire kit has yet to be utilized in its "intended" use as an on field driver and healer which is why people were disappointed in her kit as whole. Kokomi is strong no doubt but we aren't really using her kit as intended.

OG Kokomi mains are happy to see she is finally getting the appreciation she deserves. Absolutely great character, i've been using her in abyss since she came out, mostly for freeze but she is so fun in hyperbloom now as well.

Yeah, if she just have 100 cr and -200 cd then people wouldn't complain as much. She deals like 10% less dmg than Ayato in ST, but it feels like 50% if you listen to the Kokomi slander from the community.

@@leightandrew2616 Xingqiu's value comes in the form that he covers a ton of defensive utility (more than some healers even) while still providing damage. He not only heals you when you take damage, but he also reduces the total damage you take for a significant margin. It makes him better than healers because with healing you can still get one shotted (example, with a reverse melt of Kenki if you're in Bennett's circle), but Xingqiu reduces that issue. He'd probably still be popular even without the sheer amount of defensive utility, but he'd definitely not be as good without it.

I skipped her first two banners because I really wanted Childe and Venti. Lost the 50/50 on those Childe and Venti banners haha But pulled her on my alt from her release banner and realised she was really good. So, I saved my guarantee and got her in 3.0 and then saved and got Venti as well. So, Kokomi kinda blessed me hehe

I got her accidentally (won 50/50) on her first banner while trying to get a copy of Rosaria and I was kinda bugged 'cause I was saving to try and guarantee Childe and I thought she robbed me of him. Luckily I won 50/50 on him too, so I gave her a chance and she ended up being my favourite character to play on my account.

Kokomi is a prime example of a character aging like fine wine. I felt sorry for her on her first banner, but I couldn't grab her until 3.0 and MAN am I glad I did. She is seriously such a comfort pick especially since I don't have Zhongli, and her utility is frankly irreplaceable for me. Being able to combine the hydro and healer slot into one with her is just so efficient.

I feel like with each and every update that came and went after her release, her utility and hidden potential has just been getting better. From best off field/most consistent Hydro Applicator, to giving everyone amazing sustainability, to being arguable the best driver of reactions in the entire game. She's super flexible, being able to be an off field support or a on field driver. Her builds are also super versatile with both weapons and artifacts. She got better and I'm super happy for her.

It’s more of the lack of a need of a healer back in those days. With dendro coming out and bloom killing you as you use it kokomi as a hydro applicator and healer became infinitely more valuable

I think another unmentioned advantage Kokomi has is her unconditional hydro application. Xingqiu and Yelan need normal attacks and for the most part are single-target oriented. Kokomi, especially if you freeze enemies over her jellyfish, will always apply enough hydro to every enemy no matter what.

Something else interesting about this is that we have more characters that can do this now, and yet Kokomi STILL manages to stand out because of what she offers. Ayato is essentially an inverse version of her (and without healing), providing higher less consistent on-field damage, but exchanging her skill-based off-field application for burst-based off-field application and all the issues that brings. Nilou brings her own off-field application, but is so specialized in her own niche that she's a distinctly inferior pick to Kokomi (or Ayato) when you're not specifically building around her strengths. And if you are, the comparisons are completely meaningless, since you're almost certaintly using Kokomi with Nilou anyways due to their excellent synergy! It shows that even if and when they introduce more characters who have unconditional hydro application, odds are Kokomi will continue to be a good pick.

plus because shes a catalyst, she can hold a thrilling tales which adds to the 4pc tenacity set bonus, she gives much more power to the team overall and ur main dps in freeze teams (ayaka), losing on personal damage compared to xingqiu/yelan but still a buffer not a downgrade

4:05 I don’t think it was a double standard. I think at the time, the resistance to interruption made Zhongli the better pick because “why pick overhealing when shield takes less time, gives a buff and means you can’t get interrupted” was the main line of thinking back then. As you said in your vid, this is especially considering the gameplay back then was less multi-character reaction based and more one DPS solos the whole game, which meant resistance to interruption had much greater value because it directly correlated with possible DPS loss.

id say kokomi is overkill in a kuki hyperbloom team. kuki already covers healing. you could put another hydro character, preferably an on field character, and keep kokomi on your second team

I still don’t like her weapon. It’s for me during her rotations I won’t be able to make use of the 0.6 energy she would regenerate from her burst in her weapon passive mainly because I only use the burst to restart the jellyfish timer and swap to my main damage dealer (Ayaka) 🥲.

I use sac fragment instead since her heal is already too much in clam set, it also solves her jellyfish cooldown instead of resetting it with burst, she is the easiest hydro applicator i have as of now for freeze and hyperbloom team 👌🏻

I loved Kokomi right from the start. One of the most appealing factors of her kit for me was the lack of Crit; I found it really interesting and was excited to explore alternative ways to build and use a character that couldn't rely on crit, as we had become so conditioned to do. It was honestly all the backlash towards her (that I would honestly call elitism about high crit and damage) that made me take a step back from caring so much about how well a character was built and instead just focus on casually enjoying the game.

Just as the perfect strategist had planned 🤭 No but to be honest, as an og C0R2 Kokomi haver i am so incredibly happy how well Kokomi is doing nowadays. The pastel princess is finally getting the love she deserves. And I get to be smug about it too, which is always a nice bonus.

I lost her 50/50 the first time to C2 Mona, now that I have both I can say Kokomi is just as good as Mona is. Though in different ways, and the flexibility for teams having both feels so nice. Though I still swap one out for C6 Xingqiu if there is anything single target(That and Dendro MC, Venti/Xiangling/Bennet, Xingqiu, Lisa/Fischl make a nice Hyper Bloom or reaction spam team if I feel like some fire.)

​@@Crystal323100I have both Kokomi and Mona too, but I have a slightly differenr opinion. I think Kokomi is VASTLY superior. She provides defensive utility, better Hydro application, and better up-time. Mona's buffs are great, don't get me wrong, but I find my Ayaka doing more than enough damage with just TTDS and TotM from Kokomi. She provides less damage, but provides way more utility and comfort.

@@MonkeBrain07 Well the teams ran are also different, Mona I like having as the on-field driver since she does more raw damage. Kokomi is better for Freeze Ayaka(Which I used to have her on.) and Hyper Bloom if you lack a Baizhu, Shinobu, or built Yaoyao. Mona fits on the teams you already have a Shielder or Healer and in Nilou Bloom can group enemies, though so can Tighnari. I prefer Mona due to her buffs while paired with Baizhu or Yaoyao. They both occupy similar teams but different roles, which is why I see them as equally good but in different ways. Kokomi is easier to compare with other healers since she is one, and by far the most comfortable for me to play so far. Though none of them feel bad outside Barbara against anything using ice.

I accidentally got Kokomi on her first banner, and I was just shocked at how cool a character she is. And then I saw the guides on her and was very surprised at how much nonsense they say about her. And when I started collecting so-called broken meta characters, I didn't see anything special in them. As a result, Kokomi has remained the only character with whom I go through the whole game, and the rest can only hope to get into her team.

"The game is already easy, you don't need a healer when you can kill everything in one hit." This was said by a content creator with all characters at C6... Anyway, many failed to realize that Kokomi is not just a healbot

Glad and proud I pulled and maxed her on her first banner and believed in her all the way through, even through the endless constant streams of slanders that made some Kokomi players got too defensive. She is and has always been a great comfort pick and role condenser with arguably more utility compared to the other comfort pick Zhongli on certain situations. She has always been in the top 5 and top 10 in abyss usages since her release and she never leaves my abyss clear teams because she is just so damn useful. That being said, I think Kokomi is THE ONLY character that still gets some hate despite being proven again and again on how useful she is. I dont remember Kazuha, Yoimiya, or even Yae getting as much hate as her today. She has got to be the most hated character in gacha gaming history and that speaks a lot about the Genshin community. Which is sad.

Yeah i still remember how many people told me she was a waste of primos when she first came out. People told me to just use Mona for freeze teams instead. Well jokes on them i almost never lose 50/50 and i still don't have her. Meanwhile Kokomi has been a blessing. I can't imagine using Nilou without her either so much value in Kokomi.

Pulled for her since day 1. Never regretted it. Now she is my best companion in the 2nd anniversary, and a saving grace for my teammates.

the whole kokomi situation is a big reason why i never trust the genshin community’s opinions on new characters anymore. it’s the same story every single time: a new character comes out, everyone trashes them, then later they realise the character is actually good. i was a firm believer of shinobu from the start, even though everyone hated her (kit-wise). she was a great healer even before dendro, but now she really shines in hyperbloom teams. the same thing also happened with yoimiya, everyone thought her kit was weak and terrible when she came out, but now people realise that she’s actually a great unit. anyways that’s just my rant, great video!

My opinion never changed about Kokomi glad to see she gets the recognition she deserves.

I like Kokomi like a reactor version of Noelle. It's just so satisfying to see the party's health just increase after a serious beatdown. Exactly like her story/lore, she's literally turning the tide of battle. Favourite moment is Ei Domain vs Kokomi taking revenge on Ei.

I'm so glad you mentioned the floor on her performance. My Kokomi is barely invested and even has some straight garbage 4 star artifacts but she still work amazingly in any team that needs a hydro applicator or a healer.

🌸😼I could yield a thousand years worth of praise, and still it would not be adequate enough to express how much I adore this character and the value/enjoyment she has brought to my account! I had no regrets C6’ing her and utilizing her as a secondary main dps after Ningguang.😼🌸

@@iamspencerxunless your Barbara’s melody loop is the size of Nilou’s tranquility aura then yes, but her melody loop’s AoE is tiny like your brain so no her hydro application is trash since her normal attack is single target only

I rolled for her, and her weapon, day one. I invested in her and to this day I don't regret it despite the backlash she got back then. She's been a staple in all of my teams. Once I get Layla I can comfortably swap Zhongli for her for my Hu Tao team and know I can count on her healing and hydro application to keep me alive and give good reactions. She's even on my dendro team.

I think a lot of what makes Kokomi good isn’t really what you see on paper but like what comes about by practice. Kokomi offers a significant amount of comfort over her competitors plus can still do decent dmg or add significant buffs both of which aren’t rlly obvious from her kit explanation. Using her instead of xinqui makes my Ayaka team much more comfortable to play as Kokomi allows for much smoother rotations instead of having to spend time weaving in normal attacks (and also not using xq on the other half.)

Kokomi is so good, that i had never got 36 star abyss UNTIL i got her and now i consistently get all those stars. Her hydro application is massive is very hard to miss

Honestly it is pretty good to see kokomi more in the spotlight nowadays for potential. It was honestly a huge shame that they released her without any artifact set to benefit her playstyle, leaving you with a char you could either build for mediocre damage or just really good healing any other healer could do. But thankfully they made the ocean hued clam set so she can utilize her entire kit.

@@raken69 Kazuha is a 5star version of sucrose though, they have exactly the same role but Kazuha is just sort of more flexible cos his grouping is generally better and his buff is usable on mono-teams while sucrose EM buff and TTDS could pull ahead on reaction based teams Kazuha main value comes from doing double swirling rotations that sucrose can't do because of his E and W mechanics, that allows you to buff multiple elements and shred VV on multiple elements,if you don't do that then the difference between sucrose and Kazuha practically doesn't exist except grouping

At the time she wasn't what was most needed as we were in a different meta. She didn't change, just like kuki the new meta made it so brute force is no longer the only way so her kit became useful. Tho freeze was always useful but between that and pyro nukes there's a difference difference

The plague of "No big pp damage = not good" has always been an issue for many characters and people choosing who to pull (Even me) And I'm glad people are leaving that sort of idea that really fucks up the experience of actually playing for fun. Kokomi is a great example of that, she eventually found her niche position within her comps, it's genuinely great.

Best Hydro app for Freeze, best Hydro app for Nilou, great Hydro driver in Hyperbloom/Burgeon (if you're running 2 Dendro), comfortable Hydro app for everyone else, TotM + TTDS, decent DPS in Taser while freeing Xingqiu for another team comp, what more do you want? I 100% agree with your sentiment. She doesn't need to do big pp damage, but calling her niche when she's almost universal is a bit much.

I've always wanted kokomi since her release but Raiden just came before so not enough primos and mona came home. Before I used Koko in freeze, but now i use her mostly in bloom/hyper/burgeon teams. SHE'S SOOO CONSISTENT.

It's really nice seeing people learned to appreciate Kokomi for what she offers coming from a Kokomi main, I love her so much

She's the ONLY character I havent switched out of my team ever since I got her a year ago (i shed blood, sweat and a LOT of tears during her first banner cause she just REFUSED to come home. she eventually did and it was the happiest day of my week). heck i've even replaced ayaka from my team to become more versatile (but also because my ayaka is too overpowered. she kills enemies too fast jfehgjks). all in all, she's the single most versatile character i've ever used and no matter what new character I get she manages to synergize with them very efficiently

Yeah this happens a little too often. Mostly because my Collei is only level 60 and i don't wanna invest into her when Nahida is going to replace her in a few days. She gets wiped out all the time :(

I’m glad to see Kokomi started seeing play and is so much better now after Dendro came out. Now will you do a video on what happened to Keqing soon?

Kokomi main since her first banner, C1 with her weapon, triple crown, my MUST character in every abyss. I'm so happy of her finally getting the appreciation she deserves. She doesn't went from bad to good, she always was the best, just don't everyone saw it.

As someone who got Kokomi since her original run I can say this: The team she's in gains immortality.

Next a what happened to Keqing video would be really cool. Considering she's on par or better with cyno in Aggravate teams - and Aggravate depending on her strength, which is many small hits, exactly what was seen as her weakness before

A Keqing update video would be nice but a video detailing on why Cyno is so weak is also needed. Losing out to a 2 yr old standard character in the only niche hes good at is not a good sign.

@@kawaiimika7974 I love Cyno and he's 1 of my mains but I do think that Shogun is way better in the sense that she does more raw electro damage than him and that she can help recharging your teams energy. Cyno is definitely VERYY fun to play though and I'll be getting Nahida for him since she seems like a decent support for him

Keqing mains are the most dedicated players in the entire game. Imagine how much theory crafting they did just to make Keqing viable in the past which resulted to the famous Keqingmains site in the present. They've been ceaselessly asking for buff for her and dendro just became that buff-how ever indirect... She's come a long way ^^.

had her since day one and was my first 10 friendship character, I don't regret pulling for her on her first banner!

Somehow I feel that one of the main reasons players misunderstood kokomi is due to content creators writing her off without trying her out in different combinations, injecting their bias into their review and not being objective. Then we have numerous parrots spreading those views around as if they were gospels. And lastly we have players who only want to follow the crowd and not find out whether she is alright for their own team. If only players could think for themselves... :x

Most KZreadrs who were against her before she even came out and before they tried here..because "no crit" showed the opinions of all dumbasses out there. Pulled her since day 1 and she never left my party and I haven't used a statue in forever

Kokomi right now really fits the term "aged like a fine wine". Healing, constant hydro application, catalyst user (TToDS exist) and the best of all, not making your character WET... Just kidding, its the fact that she doesn't need crit in her kit that makes her less stressful to build. And as if those weren't enough, she can fill any role you want her to be. Give her 4 Tenacity set and TToDS and she becomes atk support. Give her 4 Clam set and she becomes either sub-dps (if you swap her) or on field dps. And recently with dendro, give her either 4 Deepwood set or Glided set and sacrificial books and she becomes a great bloom reactor. And all of this while she heals you a ton. Definitely worth it to pull her.

So glad I pulled for her, not only made my freeze team more comfy to play but also she's getting some interesting synergies with bloom/hyperbloom teams

She us still misunderstood. But in an opposite way. Now peaple think she is stronger than she actually is.

The main problem with Kokomi's initial reception is the fact that she was marketed as a healer with a dps window from using her burst, but her burst didn't do a substantial amount of damage (didn't help that she didn't release with her dedicated artifact set, plus she couldn't crit through normal means) and it was single target. Her A4 passive, her signature weapon and 5/6 of her constellations directly augmented her damage output from her burst in one way or another. With that in mind, everyone simply saw her as her intended role, rather than her *practical* role. Why waste a slot for a healer when there are better healers with burst healing or better supportive capabilities without taking up much field time? Why waste a slot for a healer's version of Raiden's burst that does 1/20th of her damage? This problem resulted in people not looking at how her kit could be used outside of its intended purpose, which is currently a healer with off-field, AoE hydro application and buffing capabilities through other means (TotM, TTDS, Hakushin ring). Now people see her as an incredibly useful and comfy hydro support thanks to TCs expanding on our understanding of team synergies and character mechanics.

I've been a Kokomi main since her release! Always knew she was good from the start :D She's so fun to play in freeze and hyperbloom teams. Love her lots!!

I fell for Kokomi after her story quest, so I’d pull for her just for the high Wiafu factor. The fact she makes the game go autopilot makes her even more awesome

Not much happened to kokomi tbh. Tenacity and TTDS build has been viable since she released, and while dendro adds a few teams for her, she was completely viable before dendro. People just learned to stop hating on a character who can't deal absurd amounts of damage that you can screenshot and brag about.

Thats what happens when a character is marketed as a DPS healer but can’t do dps very well, people don’t expect massive numbers from characters like Barbara (although it can be pulled off) while Kokomi’s damage will always be limited due to not having the ability to crit

People who never tried her downplayed her because "no crit " and can't do big peepee damage. Half of the people listened to equally clueless streamers who hadn't tried her yet either.

I got Kokomi on her most recent banner. I wasn't planning on it and honestly felt extremely indifferent towards the character (all I knew is she sold poorly and wasn't good). HOW WRONG I WAS. She was so comfy in the trials so even though I had been saving for Albedo, I used my guarantee on her (still got Albedo tho yippee). She's so comfy and versatile. An amazing healer, a great DPS with her burst, and perfect so hydro reactions and dendro. I absolutely recommend her to anyone who finds her fun. She's great and I love her.

Kokomi is my favorite character in all of fiction. And she has remained as number one ever since I wished for her in 2.1. I can already tell this will be an excellent episode 💙

What I extra enjoy about watching this video after seven months is that an update video could absolutely be made to cover Kokomi's further role expansion into an offensive EM unit via Nilou teams No need to crit with "bountiful bloom". Just stack that EM and all the HP you can scrape on the side. Grab a couple dendro units with off-field application. Congrats, you now have a Nilou-loaded Kokopuff bloom cannon

I was going to skip her in 2.5, but had a change of heart. She's been on every single Abyss run ever since and is one of my most used characters in the overworld just because of how versatile and comfy she is. Absolutely a worthwhile pull. The game ain't called Hydro Impact for nothin'. 😉

I feel many people are taking current meta as if it was always similar. Teams with Zhongli did not need healers and our damage tools were much more limited, so try making teams with what we had during Kokomi's release and the enemies of that time and you will find her still underwhelming Her status is the indirect result of Zhongli's indirect nerf

Zhongli and Kokomi both offers survivability and a bit more additional damage compared to let's say Support-build Noelle and Barbara. If a player purely wants the most big pp damage, I don't think they'd include Zhongli (unless it's a mono geo team) bc that fight isn't meant to last long. You'd add Mona, sucrose, diona etc. Zhongli wasn't nerfed, there are only like two enemies that's been introduced that ignores shield and even then Zhongli still offers no interruption and lowers enemy res. If you're talking about the bleeding effect, zhongli's shield also didn't work on the freezing abyss floors back then. Kokomi still functions the same as she did at her release + bloom or maybe ocean hue (but most players still use tenacity on her). What Kokomi lacks in lower res and no interruption, she makes up for elemental reactions and a more consistent damage compared to a shield bot zhongli

I got kokomi on her first rerun and I have never regretted it since. She has been my go to for any team that needs a healer, and when my bennet is already being used on another team. Her offield hydro application is crazy, and her healing is insane, she is the first character I put into any bloom/hyperbloom team I create, besides for maybe nahida.

Got C1 Koko on debut banner with weapon and loved her (though my Hu Tao didn't so much haha) she kept my teams alive whilst applying a load of hydro for my permafreeze comps and made Abyss a breeze for the team she was on, it just made me kinda confused that people were complaining about her on release because of such trivial matters just because they can't understand her team role, but that's the good ol' Genshin community for you I guess.

Fun fact: people who hate kokomi don't even have her

At first, I was angry because I accidentally got her on her release then I used her I realized that she makes my team invincible so I defended her now I'm proud to see that the perspective on her changed since her release.

Nothing happened to Kokomi. On release when she couldn’t crit people overreacted. Exact same players who trashed Kazuha on release. Genshin community is filled with some absolute clowns. Edit: same with Thoma and Kuki.

This is a shit take. Kuki was literally useless prior to dendro. People shat on her at the time because AT THE TIME she was ASS. Thoma is STILL ass. Kazuha came at the exact same time as EM changes, so people didn't really understand his kit scaling at the time.

@@yououttapocket Kuki wasn’t useless. Electro healer with 100% aoe skill uptime (with constellations) who had good synergy with Tenacity set. Thoma also has a great shield for units that can utilise it effectively. People like you see low damage scalings and say a character is shit. Utility > damage.

Well for Thoma and Kuki something did happen, aka Dendro. Kokomi was good on release it's just that majority of community crossed her off because she is a healer. She was always a good tazer driver and she was always a good freeze support. She just got more damage in tazer trough clam and Kazuha always existed as a freeze buffer and people still usually run her instead of Mona even tho they have Shenhe. Kuki was a good healer, but her teams weren't improved by her presence, she was just a comfort pick and a good one at that. And Thoma was a really good shielder but that was all he had. His burst, unlike now, was considered a hindrance instead of something useful. His ICD prevented him from prock overload on every hit which would have been at least something to bump up his damage. Of course, that's a good thing now but before it wasn't. Besides burgeon, at least now we have Cyno so he has another character who synergizes with his shield like Yoimiya and Hu Tao do

​​@@yououttapocket Tankfei is just a meme build and she is a waste of a party slot. I would rather use a shield character that does something than just shielding. Plus, Thoma's shield could regenerate and shields are only use to prevent stagger anyway. Kuki was never a best in slot but if you wanted to make your team more comfortable, you could. Dendro did buff her significantly but she was clearly designed to work with it, so I don't understand why did you people just cross her off like that.

It's not that people misunderstood her They literally gave her artifacts, weapons, and designed dungeons and spiral abyss floors based on her kit She got indirect buffed to hell and people just slap her into almost every party because her E applys wet fast and heal the party They even changed the Hydro resonance to bonus Hp which she benefits the most alongside Yelan

the first day of her re run, in the very first 10 pull, she came home. never regretted pulling for her. playing the game had never been easier with her around

Oh well, where do i start... She's not "the most heavily misunderstood", she's the most inderectly buffed char. 2:48 Everyone thought Raiden was bad because she just didn't have a team she would excel at in the first week. Rational wasn't discovered instantly, in most other teams she's worse than alternative chars to this day, and Raiden Hyper is not that impressive without her c2 (plus, according to kqm guide, it was incorrectly calculated back then). At the time the only team she'd feel comfortable is Eula team and even then she's only a side grade, sometimes even a dps loss to fischl in the team (according to zajef's stream at the time of her release). 3:55 What damage, her personal damage is still nonexistant anywhere out of taser where she can use her ult without taking the other chars's on-field time. Take that away and she's essentially a water sprinkler... which can heal and use ToM and TTDS so that's worth something. 4:07 Zhongli was and is frown upon in meta community for not bringing anything but shielding and slight res shred. The double standard was only present in casual part of the community. Speaking of, nowadays he's better thanks to Tao double hydro and aggravate teams making Petra set viable first time in genshin history. 4:55 That's straight up a lie. The players who were well read on genshin mechanics aka Zajef and Kqm were the first to lash upon her at the time and for a good reason which is *not* "she can't crit oh no". Check Tenten's "shinra tensei" comp review for some proof, he has a lot of screenshots with kqm opinions from the time, or find a zajef stream recordings from her release if they still exist. 5:33 Well, lets see. At the time there was no clam set, no corrosion, no sukokomon, no dendro, no shenhe, the inazuman craftable catalyst wasn't calculated for kokomi taser so even her taser was meh, the only team she had any chance of seeing a play in was freeze where she to this day does the same job mona+diona do with two asterisks: more comfort because more hydro uptime (which doesn't really matter because mona has enough uptime for any of your cryo damage dealers' dps window and kokomi barely boosts anything out of the dps window), and higher primo cost. At the time the stance was that if that comfort is worth 12-24k primos to you - go ahead and get her, if not - you can either play mona+diona or just not bring a healer at all as freeze is one of the safest teams around to play with no healer. Then more teams were discovered, shenhe came out and the opinion started to change: she now had a decent taser (not the best as there are ayato taser and sucrose taser), sukokomoin is a quirky yet effective team, freeze now has shenhe and if you aren't willing to play with no healer (i personally would rather have some defensive option than no healer at all) then you have to go Kokomi. Primo cost is still questionable but that's for another topic. And now when she got hyperbloom and nilou teams to her disposal its just impossible to deny she's good. She has 5 teams she's good at, maybe master of none but an extremely effective jack of all trades, much like Ayato. Lastly, I agree with the second half of the video but the misinformation above just won't do. That's a dislike from me.

watching this made me realize how far we've come!

Kokomi has been a mainstay as my main healer since the first day of her first banner. I have never regretted getting her and in co-op I'm often the one carrying the team as in I'm keeping everyone alive. She may not deal the highest damage but damage means nothing when your team is dying and each update is actually gradually but subtlety raising the difficulty.

Am actually glad you did a review of her before she became meta....that way I knew whether to pull for her or to wait...and if I had pulled for her then ...then I would have regretted it cause I wouldn't have enough for Ayaka after Kokomi

Kokomi is my favourite unit in the game not only she's super flexible because hydro is arguably the best element and at the same time she's a healer , she's also have very decent DPS and works amazingly with sub DPS like fischl beidou yelan etc , she's also have one of the best visuals design

Seeing how the meta shifts with the elements, and artifacts is kind of amazing. Like I remember the outcry when Yae came out, then rage after her first line of buffs, then silence after they rolled back the E change. Meanwhile as a Yae main I've been trying to figure out how she works best.

Nice video. Hard to relate because i do not use a single water unit (except Barbara sometimes). Absence of hydro limits teams a lot, but still possible. No matter, video is as good as ever. Maybe next time debunk myth about "electro is good now":)

I spend 25k primogem on her banner in 3.0 because losing pity to mona and double high pity. Her banner is the most unlucky pull as far as i have played genshin but still i feel it is very worth it

Kokomi and Klee are the only 5* that i have actively tried getting c6 on, seriously love them

first limited 5* of mine, dont really play genshin anymore, but i still love her

Picked her up in her latest re-run before 4.0, having got Zhongli as my second five-star, having got going in 2.8. Given the familiarity I've gained with Rift Hounds since that beginning, it's definitely nice to have her in my pocket when Zhongli's crowned shield ain't enough.

First Kazuha and then Kokomi, both got severe backlash upon release but i fell in love with both of them opon first glance. And i pulled even tho people discouraged me (specially during kokomi). Both times i laughed at people when they finally saw their worth and got desperate for them lmao I got good choice it seems haha

i feel so glad i got her on her first rerun cos back then i jus got her since she was pretty and i wanted a healer now seein her in my new teams w cyno and nilou its amazing to see how amazing she is

I've kept all of my characters to 80/80 with 2/8/8 (or 8 attack if needed), with the exception of the Archons and Ganyu (who is my 2nd 5 star on her first run). This has made my resin usage pretty casual, and my open world & domain gameplay actually challenging, when compared to using one or more of my four 90s. Thus having a healer like Kokomi, in my team, is a must in the newer bosses, area or events with lvl 90ish enemies units.

been playing kokomi carry in abyss since i built her and its always a success because of her sustainable damage and healing i love her so much im so glad she gets the love she deserves now -- will pull for her cons after i get nahida/kazuha cons

i took a break from genshin impact after ayaka banner came out and when i came back i got her and her weapon early which encouraged me to build her and she was my saving grace in abyss since i had no second dps at the time

Back then i was jokingly roll for kokomi and by now I think i made a very correct choice back then

I feel I should be happy about this since she is my best companion on the 2nd anniversary, and I got her on day one of her 1st banner run.

In 2.1 I wanted raiden but I didn't manage to get to her in time, so I decided to pull on the kokomi banner just to get rid of the 50/50 and I managed to still get her and since then with all the stuff she got I actually never once regretted that pull

Getting her was a pain since I lost the 50/50 and had to buy one multi to finally get her a few days before her first banner ended, but I never regretted it and now she’s pretty much a constant on my teams!

Kokomi is my first 5 star character. And she never left my team ever since. She's truly a blessing.

Got Kokomi and her donut on the first run and she's stayed on my main team ever since. I never die, and she has so much utility, especially now with Dendro. Really glad that people are coming around because she was always the goat :D
