Khabib have several major edges over Connor businesswise. The first one is that he is investing in people development - the EFC, the football academy, the gyms and who knows what future projects he will have. Because of his origin and religion, he have access to a pool of talents from regions with long traditions especially in combat sports. Plus he can get the necessary financial backup for future projects way easier if needed. This is setting a foundation for a long run success.

He invested in that Whiskey brand. Tried it... Horse pee... There are hundreds of better Irish whiskeys. Not quite successful investment. Khabib is disciplined and humble; this, is exactly what will take him to the top.

I hope they both do well. Fighters should get paid more than any other kind of athlete. Most sports are really just a metaphor for combat/war. Fighters are the closest we have to the real thing. Fighting is also the only sport where injury is the intent.

@Serpentis it’s supply and demand… the few people playing the game attract money from millions of people, each player’s “work” is actually only worth pennies to the people watching, but there are millions watching. Someone truly useful like a plumber, only services one household at a time. If a single plumber could service millions of people seimultaneosly, he would be a billionaire, but he can’t. My gripe with mma pay is that proportionally for the money they bring in with their time on screen, they are unfairly paid. Especially if you consider how few fighters there are per card. At the very least let fighters get individual sponsors again.

@bigheadrhino 490k a year to somewhat play a game… absolute insanity… no wonder why half the world can’t stand western “culture” Anyone who thinks what sort of salary is warranted by any means is NUTS… 30k a fight is not bad at all… IF your doing what you want to be doing and making money from it you’re winning… do that 3 to 4 times a year and your already making more then most… literally “working” for a 15-25 minutes… and then allegedly doing what you love the rest of the time… ie training sparring etc… So much time to utilize to make more money… Truth is too many people began doing this because they only want to make the money… so then it becomes work… that they feel entitled to compensation for… Better off just doing what you love and the compensation for it is the bonus… and never actually “work” a day in your life… some get it and some don’t…🤷🏻‍♂️

These all seem like large ambitions. Whether or not they get off the ground is a totally different story. Ideas do not = success. The football MMA hybrid idea makes me super skeptical. One could argue that you need to do a few of these short term, smaller projects that Conor has done to be able to have the financial health as a basel foundation to ascend higher. This sounds like a new guy stepping into the ring for the first time without ever sparing. You don't just jump right up to the top with no experience. I wish him luck though!

IMO Khabib doesn't really care much about having so much wealth. He's more like a visionary person.

This isn’t a bad theory, EFC will likely be a success in the long run. However with things like this there is a lot of unknown and for Khabib to make hundreds of millions of dollars I’m not sure about. I hope so.
