in hs my high school sweetheart and i were laying in his bed just talking and cuddling and laughing and i realized looking into his eyes at that moment in particular that i knew i loved him. and i was like “i wanna tell you something but i don’t know if it’s right to say it.” he immediately said, with a genuine smile, “i think i know. you can say it. say it.” i said “i love you.” and again without hesitation other than just the nerve to say it, he said it back. we were both just so happy! young and in love. it’s an insane feeling, there is nothing at all like it to just KNOW. i know 16 is children but we dated into early adulthood and i still know i will always love him, 10 years later. the first time you say it is intense and the best when they say it too, especially if it ends up LIKE KELSEY AND CODY HAVE! they’re so fucking good together :)))

my partner told me they loved me in their sleep about five months into our relationship. she obviously didn’t remember but two months after that she said it for the first time while conscious. now here we are, three years later and we move in to our first apartment together next week :)

My fiance technically said it first. This was a few months after we met we weren't officially dating, but we spent all of our time together. During this time, we were both going through some really rough shit with our families. So I was over at his place, and we were lying next to each other. He was playing video games, and I was playing a game on my phone. After hours of silence he sighs and says "I love you" I was stunned and nervous so I didn't say anything right away and he immediately said "ya know as a friend" and I was so disappointed but I was like oh okay lol. So, almost a year later, I officially tell him I love you after showing him a song I wrote for him. And he said it back. Recently, I asked him when he told me he loved me that time if he really just meant it as a friend. And he said no, I really was professing my love to you, but when you didn't say anything, I got so nervous and back tracked because I didn't wanna make things weird. And I told him, if he waited literally one beat longer, I would've told him I love you too. Lol But everything happens for a reason. Love is such a wonderful thing.

My partner did the exact same thing, two weeks into our now 5 year relationship I said some dumb joke and she laughed and said "I love you" and tried so hard to act like she didnt just say that lol little did she know I felt the same way since day one.
