I saw Kano out shopping in Selfridges way back in 05 (I think)…. I was a big fan, and went over to say hello. Was thinking he might not want to be disturbed when out shopping etc, and was unsure how he’d react. He couldn’t have been any nicer. Really humble, and didn’t mind being disturbed at all. Gave us a load of his time; chatting about growing up in East London (I’m not far off his age, and grew up in Canning Town), and U.K. hip hop and garage / grime. Always been a big fan of his music, but even more impressed by his acting in Top Boy. Got an abundance of talent Kano, and just seems humble and down to earth all round

I think the difference is this, Americans look through this in an American lens . The street gang culture in Uk isn’t part of black culture but city culture there’s been street gangs in e.London and s.London way before black immigrants turned up on British shores going all the way the way back to Victorian times these areas were notorious for gangs and poverty when the vast majority of the population was white. Charles Dickens made a career out of writing about the east London rookeries . Unlike America there was no significant white flight from these inner city areas the poorest white families had simply nowhere to fly to . The black immigrants didn’t introduce the gang culture they adopted into it . The American concept of the black hood bears no relation in London because these areas were hoods before black people ever turned up . Glasgow a city with no significant black population has one of the highest murder rates in Europe much of which is gang affiliated. The UK has long tradition of gang violence, hell we invented football hooligans in the UK it’s a local tradition as British as fish n chips

Asking questions and then answering them for him. So annoying!!
kano is a proper artist he has never sold out. His music was and still is underground. His album Jack bauer 2.4 never got love, even with top boy never picked up and even still it doesnt get enough respect and remains somewhat underground. Also his acting is top boy is unreal.. he is by far the best actor as well as character.
Kano is a legend from the endz 💯🇬🇧🇯🇲
Kano is a legend. Love from the US.

That was the most wanky white question I’ve ever heard. You’ve got a talented man like Kano in your presence and you ask those questions 😂😂😂🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Kano displays wisdom every time he speaks. He’s exceptional in his address of opportunity, and how that impacts young people in poverty🫡
New season! I can’t wait.

Most people dont remember this but kano has a unlockable character in def jam icon
Most authentic character and performance in the show. Seemed effortless but obv it wasn't.
Big up Kano! Legend in music and amazing as Sully.
This podcast got too many dudes in a tiny space. Love Kano fr.
At this point, I've gotta say that if you haven't seen Top Boy, you're missing out big time.
That show is amazing! And the music xO fits Soo perfectly haha 🤙
Tbh I felt like the ending of s2 where Sully killed _______ was out of character too though. He just wanted a quiet life and then he goes and does that. Kano is a legend

Summerhouse Sully!
Kano so good as a actor and person I dead ass didn’t kno he was a rapper .. picked at his mind watched a few others thing .. hear him speak .. and no cap I didn’t hear the music til I was done hearing from him (I don’t kno I’m just like that) and I ducking knew he was a beast before I heard and then heard it and was like 🤯🤯🤯 shout out to sully (Kano)
Damn let Kano speak ffs, you guys keep talking over him and not letting him TALK.
Would help if they actually let him speak
I feel like that one guy desperately wants Kano to actually be sully 😂
Big up Kano
Yeah nah Kano definitely carries himself in real life like a real g so I fuck with it
East London 🔥💪🏽
hurt full
They are cutting in on him speaking so much, calm the fuck down, this is Kano from Top Boy, let the man speak, and anyone in your day to day life for that matter, LET PEOPLE SPEAK, WAIT
I kano believe kano on this guy show. This is amazing kano is from East london
There's acting, then there's what Kano did which is as real as it comes on the big screen.

people always bring up why it’s strange “black criminals” that have this “code” about snitching. but white Police don’t snitch on each other, white politicians don’t snitch on each other. so many white people don’t snitch on each other and have the same code

yeah wiley talks about this in his vlad interview (as much of a dickhead vlad is). its a very UK working class thing in general, from being a kid you learn "dont be a grass" "grasses get slashes". these cunts are so wet its unreal, feel sorry for kane having to put up with this.
3 wheels up kano is a direct rudeboy
He was 100% right

They both have their positives. The C4 version was more realistic. The Netflix version was sexed up massively. It was more entertaining, but ultimately more shallow.
Man Sully killed his boy, saw his youngin die by fire and put two in Jamie when no one had the radar to see his BS. My fav character on the series.
kano is purest he not will do things against instinct
Thank you thank you thank you. So glad that im not the only person to see this. Im from the streets and you can see how this is played.
I felt like the final scene was out of character for Sully I didn’t expect that
Shout out to the real TOP G KANO!!!
Wild crossover but I’m here for it! All the US guys reading this, please watch Top boy!
Let the man speak, got dayum I hate interviewing like this
KANO - PSYCHO-SULLY
"LOL ART IS GAY" was a pretty weak bit
Legend of a London MC
Pretty sure if someone breaks into Kanos house at night he’s calling the police
When you guys have a none-comedic guest on the show, I think it's better if it's just Schulz. More of a one-on-one.
East Ham legend! Newham in the building. Kane was talented, he didn't need to go the other way and was on his music, performing locally from early.
Random how Watercolor, paining and art is consider gay.. Kano is amazing for what he contributes to this show!
This is so unexpected but so welcome!
Let the man talk.
