A lot of premier league watchers never truly understood what a Raumdeuter does because people like Tifo and others said Dele Ali was one and so they looked at a creative 10 with license and thought Raumdeuter rather than Mueller’s workhorse presence for Bayern. Because if you analyze Bayern, you see he plays as the 10, the 9, and the 7 in their 4-2-3-1. He’s their pressing trigger and he moves a lot on defensive duties but also knows when to break off and let others defend so he can be the break-away. Havertz does that. He is a Mueller. The flexibility is part of the role. They don’t interpret space to interpret it. They find the space and switch roles according to the space they are in. Not only do they have to be extremely flexible as a player, but their teammates do as well. That’s why Havertz at Chelsea wasn’t working. The players didn’t understand each other’s movements because the coaches constantly rotated players in and out to find the best 11 and the players weren’t as positionally flexible. That 2020 Bayern team - every single one of them could play across that front line. This Arsenal team, every single one of them can play across the front line.

Havertz is probably our most important player currently ( the best way to explain it is that hes a better version of Henderson). He adds target man abilities whilst being able to play a false 9 still. Arteta is merging 2 systems into one basically

If Kai could work on his finishing, he'd be insane. He's almost always in the right spot at the right time and because he's so big and unassuming, he ends up with ball in front of goal more often than not. If he had a "killer instinct" or just a more technical shot, he'd get 15-20 goals a season. As it stands; he's a hard worker and a good team player. Hopefully that's enough for right now but he's definitely got the potential to be a decent goal scorer.

If Xhaka was coached into an attacking 8 at the later stages of his career, I trust Mikel can coach those goals into a 24 yo Havertz. I think he’ll be the biggest surprise in the Arteta era.

@@Callisthenicskid Yeah, maybe. Judging by his off-the-ball work, he seems like he'd be a natural. I think he knows what he needs to do and is capable of doing it; he just gets to the point of pulling it off and seizes up. So many times i've seen him end up with the ball in a great position in the box but instead of firing a shot (like he should be doing), he immediately tries to find someone else to give the ball to. Maybe it's stage fright? Hopefully it's something that he can work on and eventually fix.

Most of us baulked at the idea of spending $65 million on Kai at the start of the year. But looking at the amount of positions he can play it shows his relative value. One player, covering 2 positions at least and working with the former wonder kid whisperer in Mikel, Kai will be hitting new levels in the years to come.

Kai has a calmness about him that I really think helps the team, he is composed even in the biggest of games and it shows that his experience is very high. If he wasnt 65 mil and 250k a week, I think people would see him as a better signing then a lot of people do

The praise that our fanbase has been giving this guy has been so OTT. Granted, he's been a bit better than what I was expecting, but our fanbase seems to feel the need to completely exaggerate how impactful he has been since joining as a defence mechanism in order to justify the £65 mill price tag that we bought him for which everyone raised an eyebrow at given his very underwhelming time at Chelsea. Dont forget there's been plenty of moments where he's been wasteful & completely anonymous at times in games as well. Our fanbase seriously needs to just settle down & incorporate a bit of realism, perspective & critical thinking into their outlook & wash themselves of this biased wishful thinking stance.

Havertz is a number 10/8 from midfield. Hes intelligent in spaces, duels, and blocks as a Raumdeuter from 3 - 4 - 3 / 3 - 2 - 5 diamond midfield..

No. His best position for this arsenal side will always be as a cf. However, he can definitely play almost everywhere. He’s not an amazing lcm, which is why we don’t play him there in big matches. However, he’s an amazing, amazing cf, and also a top top SS.

Feel like he's one of those players who managers will always appreciate more than fans. So much of what he does goes under the radar & won't necessarily show up on stats. After Giroud, I think Havertz is the 2nd player I've seen in an Arsenal shirt who knows how to find spaces. If Havertz was clinical, he should be on at least 12 Prem goals right now. He's that good at finding spaces at ease.

Think about how he mugged 2 centerbcks and GK of Liverpool by just being seen as though he is coming to attack them. He usually comes and moves them out position then pass the ball to whoever of our player available. If that happened to our defenders GK it would been seen every day.

I think that we need to stop looking at positions and start looking at profiles, Havertz’s profile is an aerial ball winner and a space finder, this makes him a good 8,9&10 in the right play style

Seriously on them. I once hosted a space on X with Chelsea fans & they almost killed me when I was telling them it’s a mistake selling Havertz to Arsenal. I knew this when I realized he had the best off the ball work rate with Xhaka second to him. I really saw why Arteta was okay with Xhaka going cos Havertz was his replacement, plus his experience in different roles & his unpredictable movements & behavior makes him a pain for any opposition. I guess those guys on X will understand what I was trying to tell them

Havertz is a tactical player

Really good video on havertz. But going forward into next season, is he our starting 9, starting LCM, or does he get replaced and dropped to the bench?

I'm the one doubting him sorry King Kai.

Havertz was signed to play at the tip of a diamond midfield in a 343. This hasnt happend yet, mainly due to injuries on Partey and Timber. So Havertz should really be judged through the lense of a player being played out of position. Concidering that, he's like 8.5/10 so far and just keeps improving.

For some reason, this video made me think, "Imagine De Jong playing LM with Havertz CF. We'd have a ton of clever players in our attack, which is a good thing"

So much work to do this summer, so many loan players to sell and move on from. I would say at least 3 more additions or upgrades are needed.

Havertz is a ghost. He drifts in and out of games like a 12th player they’ve sneaked on without anyone noticing. He plays blind-side for long spells then turns up just when the opposition have forgotten about him.

Kai Havertz is the 11th and 12th player in the team. Whether we sign a striker or not, Arteta will use him in most games because he is the only one who plays all the roles in the team at the same time. One minute, he is in defensive midfield, the next minute, he is in either wings, another minute, he is in attacking midfield, and the next minute again, he is playing striker. The lad has bags of stamina and workrate. The only way he can improve his scoring ratio is if he starts training and shooting a lot more with his right foot like Saka is doing. Most times the ball falls on his right foot and before he could get it to his left foot, a defender has sniffed it out of him. He should be shooting with his right foot and more goals will come from him.

Kai reminds me Giroud, and like Giroud, I think Kai will be a great team player but never a prolific goal scorer

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat????? Giroude had/has amazing ball skills, accuracy and instinct for when to shoot or assist - these are the areas where Havertz is grossly lacking. Even his goal against Burnley - accidental nutmeg and a soft shot almost straight at the keeper.

I watched him from his first games on for Leverkusen (like 7 years ago) and I sad to a friend of mine that he‘s gonna be one of the best one day. Well maybe not top top shelf but what I dont understand since he went to Chelsea: Why is/was he so often used as a striker?? He just isnt!! He‘s a brilliant 8, 10 or what we call „hanging striker“ so just behin a number 9.

His only problem, is shooting...he's scared of hurting the ball

his shooting is godawful and I think that's why he has no real position. He doesn't excel at anything really, but he's pretty good at most things. Pressing, controlling the ball in the air, short range passing, movement around the box, some strength in duels, but man he really lacks the killer edge at important things in the game, the final pass, shooting on goal. I don't know if many notice, but Kai basically shoots straight at the GK, it's basically luck and poor GKing that allows him to score most times.

Love his work rate, but I don't love Kai as a player. I would prefer still having Xhaka in there rather than Kai. I also would like to see Rice, Partey, and Odegaard in the lineup if Partey could get healthy.
