How John Fetterman broke Trump’s red wave in Pennsylvania

In the vital swing state of Pennsylvania, the progressive Democrat John Fetterman defeated the TV celebrity Dr Mehmet Oz in a race that could determine the balance of power in Washington.

Oliver Laughland, Tom Silverstone and Joel Van Haren followed the grassroots campaign that helped Fetterman enter the US senate and could loosen Donald Trump’s grip on the Republican party.

I think she meant she wants MORE than just shelter, food, clothing... so she took on extra work - and she thought maybe that was selfish. I think that's pretty American. Americans take very little time off for vacation, or just for themselves... They work when they are sick... do overtime or extra jobs... and still it can be hard to get ahead. Get seriously sick and you can be bankrupted in a blink.

That lady who approved of poverty wages is not only immoral, but she is also incorrect. Large firms DO have the money to pay higher wages. It’s just that they’d rather maximise their shareholders’ wealth than pay a liveable wage to the people at the bottom who actually make the system run.

I assume they’re talking about small & medium sized businesses which can have a much harder time competing with big corporations, especially today with all the consolidation happening. But in that case, I don’t see why you couldn’t do tier wages based off business revenue so those bigger companies should pay a higher portion.

They think $15 is a “little high”? I literally make $18 an hour full time and have to live at home because rent is simply TOO HIGH for a single average citizen. A studio in my area starts at $900, a 1 bedroom (that isn’t even nice) is $1,200 STARTING. I think its ridiculous that someone working a full time job still can’t afford shelter. There’s a massive problem.

America used to have it but Reagan got rid of it which is when Faux news and other disreputable channels arrived with their "versions" of what is happening, their refusal to show news which is bad for the Republican party and their cheap jibes at the leaders of the country - think back to "Blame Obama" and how the deficit left by Bush was blamed on him even though it was that high 8 months before he took office, but the job growth and economy that Obama left behind was credited to Trump... Raising the minimum wage to a constantly adjusted living wage should be coupled with fighting corporate greed. Raise the minimum wage, and you raise the cost of the goods being produced at every stage above and below that worker. The factory worker making the cheese gets more, the cost of the cheese goes up. And the cost of everything that uses cheese goes up. Then the fast food worker gets 15$ so the price of the burger goes up. You'll jump from a 5$ burger to a 9$ burger. Creating a minimum wage caused a lot of problems in itself. But keep voting for more inflation.
