HOW JASON DAY MADE IT | Breakthrough, Ep. 1

Спорт

Jason Day was lost. He was a talented teenage golfer but then he’d lost his father and lost his way, too. He got into drinking. He got into fighting. He faced an uncertain future.
So how is it that just a decade later he’d climbed to golf’s top perch - World No. 1? Why did he make it instead of his Aussie mates? And once he plummeted from No. 1 all the way outside the top 150, what gave him the strength to battle back again? Put simply: Why him?
Day takes our Dylan Dethier through his rough-and-tumble childhood, his challenging relationship with father, his enduring love for golf, how he learned to do the work, what motivates him and much more.
This is Episode 1 of BREAKTHROUGH, where we sit down with golf’s most interesting people and learn about the moments in their lives that have made the biggest difference.

There could hardly be a PGATour player coming from a more modest background than JDay. It explains why family is so important to him.

I have so much sympathy for Jason. Great golfer, great bloke--despite his heartbreaking childhood.

G’day mate. ‘Funny’ coincidence. We went from Townsville, where I was born, through Mackey, rockhampton, Brisbane finally to Sydney. Later my mom took us to Germany and now I live in Romania, working for airbus. Play golf since 10 years and love to watch you and Adam playing. Keep up the spirit and please, don’t join LIV. Cheers.

I think owning your swing is , when you have completely designed your swing all by yourself. Obviously your going to pick thing up from other great golfers . But ultimately building your swing from the ( GROUND ) up Hogan's ⬆️ secret

@@Aaronbtc4 I agree. Professional athletes rarely have to speak. No media conferences or anything. I'm too hard on him.

All the guys on the PGA tour are absolutely amazing golfers , for sure . But there is a smaller group of guys amongst all the players . A small group .that at anytime if he gets hot and everything starts clicking. Its basically game over ..who is playing for 2nd place? Everybody not named JASON DAY
