I didn’t catch the part where the rotor blades minced tomatoes and onion into a dip. Ooooh, you meant salsa dancing?? Pretty sure no one goes out to “make” dancing. Also, you’re an idiot, and this is free content. Did YOU make and publish an animation of a swashplate?

May I help you? The red ring which is shown in the video can also be pushed upwards on one side and downwards on the opposite side. The blades now change their pitch from upwards to downwards while doing one turn. If the ring is pushed upwards on the back, the blades will have more pitch on that side and therefore will push the back of the helicopter upwards. That's how a helicopter fly's forward.

  • @WitchidWitchid

+AsStrange0815 The direction the helicopter moves is controlled by the cyclic stick. The cyclic stick causes the rotor to tilt in the direction the cyclic stick is moved and the helicopter will in turn move in that direction. Collective is used to increase or decrease lift. The cyclic stick is used to move the helicopter around.

I know that this answer was given 1 year ago. Plus, I have to apologize for my poor English, but it's not my mother tongue as well I won't use any stupid translator... BUT... this answer is basically WRONG! What it's correct is that YES, when the swashplate tilts on one side, the blades are moving as described, BUT it is TOTALLY INCORRECT to say that tilting it on the back, the helicopter is moving forward! NO WAY!!! NO WAY, man! You forgot to mention Newton's 2nd (or 3rd, I do not recall which one of the 2) law of phisics where it clearly mention about MOMENTUM! It means that if you tilt the swashplate back, the helicopter will move SIDEWAY, not forward! Ergo, 90° after its adjustment! Again, sorry for my bad English. Regards.

what im wondering, just curious of is, how the roll and pitch work, i know that that instead of collective, it only changes the angle of attack of certain blades (that i know of , im a bit dumb ;w;) but since the rotor is spinning, it wont stay pitching or rolling in that direction, what keeps the blades angled in the right direction as it spins? i am so curious to knoww , i hope this wording makes sense :

Interesting! I've always been fascinated by helicopters, and someday I would *love* to own a gyrocopter ...basically a "mini-helicopter" that can be owned and flown by everyday civilians, though I imagine not nearly as high up as a regular chopper, and I would imagine you would need a special kind of license, and probably complete some type of course, and obviously know which air spaces are off-limits and such...but as fascinating as I have always found helicopters, I'm surprised I never really inquired more into how they actually work, when it comes to adjusting height and landing and whatnot. I like how the pitch of the blades actually adjust! I guess I always just assumed that the speed of rotation changed when flying higher or lower, but the adjustment of blade-pitch seems to make much more sense, and would probably be much more accurate, and you would certainly be able to adjust your elevation much more quickly and accurately

+Elmo Anisto By Cyclic control. Cyclic pitch changes the angle of attack of the rotor blades. When you push forward on the cyclic stick it causes the entire rotor to tilt in a forward direction causing the rotors too provide forward thrust and the helicopter moves forward. If you pull the cyclic stick backward the rotor will tilt in the opposite direction and the helicopter will fly backwards. If you push the cyclic to the left or right the helicopter will move sideways to the left or to the right. If you keep the cyclic in neutral position the helicopter will hover and stand still in the air. So you have 2 main controls. The collective (as was shown in this video) changes the pitch of the blades giving the helicopter the ability to go up or go down depending on which direction you move the collective stick. The cyclic stick tilts the rotor so the helicopter can move forward, backwards, or sideways. The small vertical rotor on the back of the helicopter counters the torque of the spinning main rotor blades. Without the tail rotor the helicopter would just spin out of control. Hope that helps.

That's.... actually incorrect. It's a common mistake though. Both the collective and directional sticks are connected through linkages to the swashplate. The top part of the swashplate (that rotates with the blades) connects to the pitchhorn on EACH blade. So, if you (for example) pull right on the directional stick, the left side (relative to the body) of the swash plate pitches up. EACH blade as it rotates over the raised part of the swashplate has it's angle of attack increased so more lift is generated on the left side of the craft, thus it drifts/pitches right. See other animations of it. It's one of those weird "complicated but simple at the same time" kinda things. The entire rotor is flat and stays flat relative to the craft though (apart from the blades flexing due to lift etc). In effect the angle of attack of EACH blade changes constantly if you're directing the craft to drift/pitch in any direction. Constantly as in 203 times a minutes in the case of a sea king.
