I work with this n breathe it in daily, I'm sure it's slowly killin me...That n many other chemicals are added together in a batch mixer, n comes out as nasty sticky stuff...then it gets pressed thin, cut in strips or sheets with wax paper to prevent it from clumping together, then packed in a box

The crumb tank looks like a big washer machine with cotton balls in it.... I never knew that they made synthetic rubber like this

Modern car and truck tires aren't made from latex tree sap. They are made from styrene-butadiene whose feedstocks are derived from natural gas or synthesis gas from gasifying coal.

I really hope this isn't how chewing gum isn't made!

Me too. I physically winced. I' have a bachelor's degree in chemistry, and 20 years in the industry. I'm a voice over artist now and I really get OCD when I hear chemistry mispronunciation.

Because you probably don't have to be concerned with Quality Control in your daily life. Remember this rubber is probably still sticky but I guess it would be okay to have some unknown dust from somewhere along the production, transport and handling of it to where it finally gets turned into a rubber container or something else that is in contact with food.

The Plastic wrap in this case safes cleaning later on. You kind of have to make a choice: Wrap it and waste plastic, don't wrap it and use water + detergents to clean it... Both have ups and downs.

How much cost for this unit as minimum std. Qty

But where do they add the schleem to the Plumbus? :V

Hopefully no one ever falls in those tanks. You don't want toenails showing up at Quality Control.

butadiene can be made from ethanol, hence “the soviet method of turning potatoes into rubber”.

Maybe they should shake the entire factory, it'd be simpler than having all those shake tables.

The catalyst for the BD is aluminum alkyl, very bad stuff. It comes into the plants mixed with a solvent cyclohexane or stuff like that. In its pure form, it's pyrophoric.
