The cars & tracks being manufactured here are not Scalextric, they are Carrera. Unlike Scalextric track, Carrera track is 1/24 scale, and the power rails are isolated from one another by plastic strips that run between the rails and the slot that the guide blade runs in. This feature removes the possibility of the tracks being shorted together if a screw or some other metal object falls into the slot.

Can I just say as a genuine badge-wearing paid up 1979 member of the 'Scalextric Formula one drivers club', those are not 'imitation' tyres. They are real tyres, miniature yes, but quite real. The plastic IS colored! Resins (plastic granules) aren't quite as "uniform" in color as are most paints. It's a pretty safe bet that Ferrari has "licensed" the factory to produce "Ferrari Red" which is why the cars must be painted. And each car must match in color before and after each car made. Lead-Based fuel was banned in Hong Kong in 1999. Plastic and paint are both petrol or fuel-based products.
@playswithtrains112 жыл бұрын
To be clear, the announcer says "Scalextric" meaning "slot car" (a generic term in the UK). These cars are actually Carrera brand slot cars which are good cars. Carrera has a wider track profile and are very nice to have. Well detailed but not quite as robust as a Scalextric brand car IMO. Keep in mind that these cars are for "home" racing. They are not really built for a Blue King track for example.

Scalextwic is not a "genewic term in the uk" it only seems that way because people selling slot wacing cars on sites such as ebay etc are lazy and cant be bothered to look at the weal bwand name, wether it be Scalextwic, cawewwa or even auworwa. Why couldnt the pwoducews of this video get a pewson who can tawk pwopewly
Woow never knew it took that much work so thats why their so dam expensive very informative vid
Just like every plastic kit is ‘Airfix’,all sticky tape is ‘Sellotape’.A Goblin vacuum cleaner salesman saying;”This is the best Hoover money can buy!” You think model racing and you think Scalextric.

Nobody is saying that at all .......... A plastic kit is a model kit, sticky tape is sticky tape, and a "goblin" is just a vacuum cleaner. When I think model racing, I think slot car.
Funny...it's Carrera sets and tracks in the video...not Scalextric
"It wont have the raw power of a real ferrari motor.." really mr narrator, really :o

The power to weight ratio and scale speeds of the slot cars are actually 2 to 3 times greater than that of a Ferrari
"Well, it's Chiner, of course!"
Us brit's sometimes refer to the vehicle itself a 'motor', that's the what he was referring to rather than the engine itself.
nice video thank you .
Payed pounds for a couple of scalextrics years ago for my both sons.. They were not at least bit interested.. couple of months after Christmas i took them to the charity shop....

Makes you wonder, why bother. What were they interested in? I always wanted a slot car set as a kid. Had to buy my own when I was 35 to finally get one
LOL i found this vid and my t-shirt is written Scalextric on it
Now they just need to stick a Wing Car motor in there :)
I hope the manufacturers pay their workers well.
watch out we got a badass over here
Deja vu, I've just been in this place before
and now we have mini-Zs, lol. man I'd love to race my Z around those tracks!
Voice over by the same bloke that does any number of shows out of the UK - the Guy Martin Speed series for instance.
WOW! you are sooo Intelligent :O
What is better to begin with. This or Carrera ?
@sssssssschoi11 how did you get that number when i am 45,994?
Wow. All of the expert comments about Chinese factories by people who have never been to China.
Pretty much handwork involved. One would think that a 'big machine' took care of it all. But labor have been cheap for along time in China, but not anymore.
Good video think these are Carrera slot cars. Must be hard going for the woman painting those helmets all day.
No Marlboro logo?
Holy Manual Labour Batman!!!
These are slot cars damn it!
HOLY SHIT THEY USED A REAL LORRY!?!?!?!?
the last part of the video shows CARRERA sets been packed and a CARRERA decorated race track. Is the same Chinese factory making CARRERA and SCALEXTRIC ??
And then the motor, "a generator that spins the wheels".
....feeds a small generator that spins the wheels. Actually it's called an electric motor, not a generator. Even my grandmother knew that.
thanks
Why the headline talks about "scalextric" an in the movie is shown "Carrera"?
Its not scalextric. It is carrera evolution, digital 132 or 124
