Factories astonish me. How humans were able to design and produce these automated machines with such precision just baffles me. Major kudos to the scientists, engineers, and everyone else involved!

Yeah, I always wondered what are the companies that design those custom manufacturing machines. Also, how were those intricate patterns created on the molds before the advent of CNC? Were they cast in plaster molds?

I swear now that I’m 22 almost have my AAS in manufacturing and working towards my BSME in Mechanical Engineering I swear this show is what got me into this whole machinist scene, crazy how I was a kid watching this to now making modern ceramic medical components. America needs all the independent manufacturing it can get.

Old repeats are still there.
These machines are amazing. So complex. And to think someone or some people had to figure the way the whole process would work out, and then BUILD the machines that would do it, including casts for all the parts of the machine, of which there are thousands of moving parts!
I'll tell you what amazes me about high volume mass production, is how factories find markets to sell their products by the millions. It just doesn't seem possible there could be enough people out there to buy them all

People lose their tableware all the time. Many throw them out because they get bored of them. And then you also have hundreds of thousands of babies being born EACH DAY. There's always demand for products, especially in this consumerist culture that modernity promotes. And if there isn't, the markets will tell them based on the sales they get.

So basically the cement in the knife is a cheap way of making the knife feel heavy without using real metal.

Less about weight, moreso about rigidity. The tang of the knife is held solid by that cement, and it keeps the thinner nickel handle from being able to dent or bend.

Shoutout to the machine operators in these who run the machines extra slow so we can really get a good look at the action.
Love this videos from México
One of the useful inventions.
They don't make the utensils like they used to. A table/butter knife should be one solid piece without a hollow in the handle, strong to stir peanut butter. Spoons should have the edge ground smooth.

Where can I get the sparking thing? Asking for a friend :>
Stainless steel is also cheaper than silver.
Okay so they fill it with cement to hold the tang in place, but cant that be acheived by welding it to the body?. Im assuming the cement is also to support the weight put on the knife.
