It should be noted that all machines during the production process must contain dangerous heavy metals, or else the guitars would lose their edge and instead become angsty violins.

Edit:Joshua Korynta and Muffin McMuffin have the correct story below. @@traphimawari7760 Deep Purple was playing a show with the band Great White in a small venue with a low ceiling and wooden rafters. During Great White's set, a fan in the audience shot a flare gun which caught the ceiling on fire (this is stated in the song; "some stupid with a flare gun burned the place to the ground"). The title and inspiration comes from the smoke of the burning building drifting low over a nearby lake or body of water after or while the building was evacuated. I'm pulling this out of a book I read 16 years ago so a couple of the details may be off.

  • @hey9433

Its pretty ridiculous why they don't just leave it as one piece. I understand for the neck, because otherwise in order to get that shape you'd need to cut a bigger block of wood which is expensive, but for the body? Why cut it only to then just glue it back together? Maybe it's to make sure there's no cavity in the wood before going through that whole process and then cutting into it at the end to install the electronics only to find out it's rotted through? But aren't there ways to check that without sawing it in half??

I had to write an informative speech for my public speaking class (oh and the topic was 'guitar') and of course all college classes require you cite your sources, and so I used this video because the first couple of minutes sounded legit (I've never seen anything from this channel before), and so the part about the guitar's inception and changes, etc., Is what I used, and on my bibliography/works cited page I obviously pasted the link and title of this video... Then sometime during my professor's reviewing and grading process she watched the video to check my work I suppose, and about two weeks later when grades were finally posted on Blackboard... I saw a 70 and a speech bubble 💬 next to my grade (which is common. It just means the instructor has some feedback for you to read) and in summary she basically dinged me for using insufficient material and said "my sense of humor is not appreciated" and that she takes her "field of work" super seriously (she's a college speech teacher that also works a second job that isn't remotely speech/public speaking related, and she hasn't given a speech since she graduated college back in the 70s or whatever, but yeah, this field of work is super cereal); my APA format and all the technical stuff was on point, and my actual writing and my delivery of my speech to the class was great according to the grading rubric, yet also according to the rubric, this source shouldn't have knocked me down to a C-... There's a place for people like her and that bitch Carol Baskin. All in all, I think this is a funny little anecdote, and there is a lesson in this writing, and the lesson is to never go half ass, or even worse a 1/16th of an ass like I did and listen to a couple minutes of something and be like "oh hell yeah this will do" 😂 always go FULL ASS! This was my mistake and I own up to it but still, THANKS Oh, and I still passed the semester with an A 🤙🏻🤙🏻 THANKS "HOW IT'S ACTUALLY MADE!" 3:29 and when it is done, it will be played by a sexually frustrated guitar player that's into prog rock and djent

I can't imagine any professor would have the time to go through all that, even at my small school, but apparently it's the public speaking ones.

The one true thing I learned about finishing on a guitar or bass, after a curing period by applying a sealer to block the wood's pores and spraying onto 22 coats of stain and lacquer, is workers wet sand the painted and lacquered wood using fine sandpaper (i.e.; 220-grit). Then buff using a buffing pad for wheel until the finish is glossy, it produced a mirror-like finish and gets polished. I use 3M auto body imperial hand glaze (serial no. 05990) instead of car wax on my guitars and basses. EASY to use 'cuz it's paint shop safe to any environment.
