i think you need to understand alot to comment apms, however this protoss was actually very good, it was odd not to scout, thats cheesy. The protoss played solid.

I'm very impressed with Arty being above 250 APM and losing his barracks to dragoons at 3:12 into the video.

I like the camera layout because it makes Artosis look like a little kid reaching up over the edge of the desk to use the keyboard and mouse.

I sniped Artosis once. Knowing his stream I just kept building bases because Artosis never scouts or expands himself. It gave me a huge resource advantage because I don't have a family or 4 kids so I don't have the time to play broodwar 50 hours a week.

This statement is a result of not understanding the matchup. In a standard game, Protoss will always be up several bases on the terran past around the 6-7 minute mark, depending on variations in openings. Terran usually expands to 3rd at around 8-10 minutes (depending on map, spawn and openings), then at around 12+ minutes a fourth, depending on circumstances like if Terran is doing a 2-1 or 3-2 push. If Terran does either 2-1 or 3-2 timings, which has been the meta builds for several years now, there is no "punishing" Protoss expanding. There is nothing Terran can do to "punish", except macro well and hit a crisp and well executed timing while holding off against recalls and somehow finding a way to either 1) fight and beat the Protoss army or 2) get an entrenched position at or near Protoss natural, at which point the Protoss can still get back into the game through recalls, storms from highground etc. If Terran wants to "punish" a fast expanding Protoss, Terran must scrap the plan to hit the 2-1/3-2 upgrade timing, and surprise Protoss with an early attack. This can be effective, but is less used at the very highest level because it is trivial for Protoss to hold if they do their job, and if its held, its game over for Terran.

Actually in korea, people who plays this game calls recall "R of Judgment" or "Punishment R"

Also, it would be fair if Terran had a unit that can take all of the energy from an Arbiter...oh wait, Terran does, but Arty finds it more useful to cast defense matrix so he can fire off an extra shot from his tanks

Wraith is useless in TvP, unless that toss player only go carriers, and even then, valk is better. Their ground laser is literally pathetic for harassing any ground units. As for ghost, similar situation. they takes way too long to get, upgrades are different and their usefulness is only their lockdown vs toss. Goliath is the better investment. Better range, less gas and upgrades are shared with tanks and vult. If you are good enough; vult, tanks and goliath is all you need against toss, hence why TvP, it's always mech, there is no other strategy. That being said, it is true what Art says, Toss arbiter recall is a pain to deal with, and even the pros can sometime get hit by it. However, having good EMP, turret positioning and a few goliath is enough to deal with them. Art just needed to be more aware of his surrounding so he can spot arbiters before they go in for the recall. He should've known toss would use the north as a place to go in. Even Scan has told Arts to build goliath against arbs.

@@DamnitMan88 Wraiths aren't good against carriers because they suck at killing interceptors unlike marines/goliaths, while the only thing that keeps them alive is cloak. Interceptors are immune to air to air splash(but affected by ground to air splash), so valks aren't too good against them. Carriers have 4 base armour, builds faster than 8 interceptors and have more heath and hence Flash and other pros choose to kill interceptors rather than Carriers. Wraiths, in TvT and TvZ are actually used for their ground atks too. Cant remember it was against who? But against a protoss who was skimping on observers, Light used wraiths to great effect at harrassment(killing probes AND dragoons). It really felt as if Wraiths were legit from that game.(like assuming if someone just watched that 1 game) Wraiths are used in TvP against small speed shuttle count. Agree with your points about arbiters.

Flash and other pros "chooses" to kill interceptors first? LOL!! No, they don't. Wraiths vs terran or zerg players? Sure if you're playing non-ranking or some D rank player, or you know, trolling someone. Wraiths are definitely good for map control if that's what you're implying, pros use them all the time for that purpose... but that's essentially it. "kill interceptors rather than Carriers." Made me burst laughing. I would win so many games against terran players if they just target my interceptors and not my carriers.

If you ACTUALLY follow pro games(ASL or just sponsored matches between pros), you will often see (when the carrier protoss is losing) full carrier fleets(even 10 carriers), but with barely any interceptors. Instead of laughing maybe you should watch more pro games.

@@1991justforfun Small advantage. They give up early pressure for a spike in their mid-game, but Toss is generally out-matched in the mid-game by Terran so it isn't easy to capitalize on. It's a big advantage against Arty, though, because he's already behind on expansions by default.

Wraiths don't scale well because Dragooon and obs pretty much destroy them. With that minerals/gas, you might as well make Tanks.

he only ever builds vultures and tanks against toss, and only adds Goliaths when he sees carriers. He is super predictable, there is no need to map hack him. In fact, if a toss got smart, he could proxy star gate a handful of scouts and rush him and win easy. He would never see that shit coming.

The problem is he never trades the vultures (and their mines) for gateway units. He did one successful probe harass and got 8 probes for a few vultures, but thats it. No mines between the protoss bases, no exchanges. The protoss camped a handful of dragoons at each nexus to deal with vultures, so Arty just didn't bother to hit them with vultures at all. He had a couple "token" mines on the map so that he could tell himself "I am mining the map!" but not nearly enough. He set up a wall outside his corner of the map, mined the hell out of his own entrance, and waited for the protoss to walk in to it. Instead, the protoss recalled over top of it and Arty raged. A tale as old as time.

This isn't fair at all. I took not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 perfect recalls where you completely missed the EMP for him to finally win. Terran is so OP.

Artosis "look at all the things he did this game" -- Well, he did at least 2 more things than you did ,as you sat on your 3 bases doing nothing significant.

Memes aside, arty really does play some weird freaks. Anyone trying to argue a nexus first no scout, Into a double dragoon scout is a real thing needs to get their heads checked. That being said, arty only gets this upset when he gets beat by someone awful. Which in broodwar is surprisingly easy. I’m no pro but I’ll beat five 1800 MMR Zerg’s in a day then lose to someone with 1600 because he does a one base lurker drop… there’s a reason he’s 1600. And it’s probably because he does dumb shit like that every single game and it works 3-4/10 times so they just keep doing it. These freaks will spend hours fine tuning a build that designed to do nothing but get cheap wins on the ladder in like.. half your games. Which is why you’re 300 games deep at 1582 MMR with a 100-200 WL record

You scouted him first nexus first and did nothing about it. Make like 7 tanks and sit in base wait for him to bust the bunker when the range kicks in for the dragoons, why not do something like dropship play. Also you hardly move out you just turtle.

It really is that sitting and waiting that is failing him. His other trick is trying to rush with 2 tanks and 4 marines early in the match against toss. As you can imagine that doesn't go well either. Arty just can't figure out timing against protoss for some reason.

Not a lot of choices out there for RTS bro. What is there? SC2? AoE4 (Age of Empires 4)? I'd choose another 20 year old game called Age of Empires 2 myself. SC1 is awesome and all but it's hard and the people playing it are maniacs.
