The old but still in use green train system in China has been in operation since the 1950s. When it comes to safety and punctuality, it surpasses its counterparts in the United States by a significant margin. My personal experiences traveling on trains in the US were rather nightmarish.

of course,we have 1.4 billion people.Some parts of china do have great infrastructure(like guizhou,Gansu),but people in these have a relatively lower income compared with other provinces.So old people tend to take the slow train for cheaper price.We are still a developing country.

The sleep trains are created for the small towns and small cities in the undeveloped areas, not for the big cities (even there are 90 big cities). Because any big cities have their own airports-------even some cities have two airports （the fight time is shorter than trains and tickets are chapter if ordered online). The reason why the local trains are connected to some capital cities just for conveniences transferred to more transportations inside the provinces.
