In the Marvel Universe, the immensely powerful Thor struggles to contain Marvel's version of Superman, the Sentry. it's actually pretty simple: Reynolds is a reality warper who is MASSIVELY mentally unstable. he turned himself into a superman knock-off becasue that's what his mind could handle. (and even then we got the Void, so....yeah...) but he's just as powerful as Molecule man or the Beyonder..basicly he's a low-tier cosmic being who thinks he's still human. thor coming at him was someing he was expecting and could counter. getting sucker punched with an exploding helicarrier (which would have been enough to give thor or the hulk a moment's pause btw) destabilized his train of thought JUST enough to leave that opening..and even then, it only lasted seconds. But becasue he IS a cosmic-level being..the death didn't last. Well, that, and there is no dead horse that marvel won't ressurect when it suits them.

This is when comic books piss me off, I understand they have to keep the story going, but they can do it a little bit better job of power scaling and making things actually makes sense. Like Dragon Ball, how can a human make a machine as strong as a universal level threat? That drives me insane!
people have to understand circumstances, if an mma fighter and me both had a knife but he didnt know i was behind him or something i could beat him too, its about situation and matchups, things beating other things doesnt mean they have more power
The Sentry once failed to catch a falling helicarrier too. I think helicarriers are his kryptonite.
