How Instagram Fuels the Urban Explorer Movement
Subscribe! kzread.info...
A younger generation of urban explorers are rediscovering NYC and posting their exploits on Instagram where they have thousands of followers. These New Yorkers are scaling to the tops of bridges and exploring below the streets of New York in abandoned subways.

I literally loved this film! It inspired me to go out and shoot more in my own city. Photography is a passion and that passion fuels something inside of you to go out and make sure you get the shot you want. That is what I love about photography.

Ya these kids know what's up. Beautiful shots on so many of those photos. I've always been into urban exploration (from all the way back in the 90's....elementary school actually). But I never thought to take some pictures to share with everyone else.
YES!
Yes I've been waiting for a video like this love it !!!!
Guys you are really talented storytellers, keep up the good work and just thank you for giving us the chance to discover every day a new corner of our world
Such an amazing short documentary. Inspired me so much to go and do urbex and rooftopping myself and I've seen some amazing views. Now the dream is to hit NYC 🏙
The most inspiring video I've seen on KZread yet! Good stuff guys, keep it up!
Favourite documentary by far!
So much respect for these guys! Keep doing what you love while you can!
i'm getting serious vertigo just watching this
Thanks for this unique (and dizzying) look at NYC!
This is so cool. I lived in Arlington until i was 10 ( right outside of dc ) and i grew to fall in love with DC . Now i live in the suburbs and i hate it more than anything.
It's cool to see young kids doing this now. I was doing it at their age, only we didn't have thousand dollar cameras lol. Some really old places I went into are long since demolished now so see em while they're still there!
Nice video guys glad the Urbex world is expanding
Got into the photography game about a year ago now looking forward to do more urban exploring in my hometown Los Angeles
Such inspiration mate!
Nice work Jeff, very well made :-)
very fun to watch and see what young, wild and free people are doing in artistic photography.
Sick! Would like to see more videos like these
RIP Heavy_minds
handsdown inspiring, great video
Damn some of these shots are amazing!
Those feet shots make my hands go clammy.
That moment when I'm on FaceTime with @ Kostennn watching this 😂😂
Awesome and amazing stuff guys.. Fearless.
What background music was used in this video ? :) I just love the idea of urban exploring, I need to form together with a group of people who want to do it with me, but its so hard to find them.
We were doing this back in 1999 when digital cameras and phones could barely take a legible shot!
I love urban exploring, only thing I explored were WW2 bunkers, fascinating stuff
I need these types of friends..
Oh my god, this is so exciting!
This is awesome!
wow D: This was awesome...!!! greetings from Mexico. (y)

Great video, next time I visit NY, I'll try to take some shots like that.
Does anybody know the songs in the video? Thanks!
Can any of you recommend a good first camera?

Inspiring!
Explorers, shows interest in the world and how it works. You guys don't take for granted you go where others don't so its your responsibility to either address any issues you find or report them. A slight dilemma when authorities don't see it your way. A lot of these so called explorers aren't running to find something but from something and a dark dismal hole often provides shelter and quiet.
amazing!
Love the video! Would be cool to have a group of adventure seeking friends like that. Sadly, I live in London. But this is really inspirational ☮
Anyone know what music this is? Genre or artist? This vid features some smooth tunes.
their reasons are so true. you cant grow and explore ur potential if u have the same shot everybody has
im a little older than these kids. back in the day we used different web forums, email lists, etc to organize and meet to go exploring. when i lived in the city i met some of the ig ue folks and noticed things dont really change. just the platforms. hopefully locations will last though thats always been a problem with the 'sport'
Omg. Sick!
What's a good camera to start shooting with? I've been iphone based for a while now and want to make the switch to a DSLR. I'll mostly be doing urban and street shooting. I've been watching the Canon D series on craigslist but nothing good yet. Is the Canon Rebel series a good start?
@malik2246
9 жыл бұрын
The Rebel series is definitely a good place to start. The beautiful thing about the series is that all of the cameras are so similar. This is great because you can get an old rebel t2i (which i use) or a t3 and it won't be too different from a new rebel t5i or t7i, so it's easy to save money and get one.
@malik2246

Also, the rebel series is made to be an entry-level DSLR, so they're great first cameras.

West713Trey I have a Nikon d3300 which I absolutely love. If you go with it make sure to buy either the Nikon 10-20mm lense or the Rokinon 14mm. They are great wide angle lenses and they are good for filming due to them being manual focus.
anybody knows how i can connect with these guys. i wanna do this
nice video thanks for sharing

Mysticofshadowyhearts Ask around and don’t act like your a freshy.
I love this!! I'm an urban explorer and photographer (IG:@hennessyvander) based in LA, so I can totally relate. It's mostly rooftops and ruins here on the West Coast, but it's always amazing nonetheless. You don't know satisfaction until you've climbed endless flights of stairs, discover a way into a rooftop where you're not supposed to be, and sit at the edge, just drinking in the life and vibrancy around you. Each experience is worth the many risks involved. And Instagram's truly a valuable networking tool among us photographers and models. This episode covered a good portion of what we do, and I loved every second of it. Hope to see more like it!!
such bravery much artworks
+forever anyone ever figure this out? what it is this song?!

This is SO COOL, I only wish there were more interesting sites like this where I live. This and other videos have inspired me to shoot too, things of which are on my youtube channel.
Hey guys i'm 14 years old and I want to get into photography can somebody recommend me what should my first camera be for a starter or which is a cheapest camera and has good quality I already have like 127 dollars saved up. Please reply quick and Thanks :)

+Logic Boii canon t3 or t3i maybe even go for the t5 or t5i. Nikon D3200, D3300 and D5300 does are some pretty good choices to begin photography with but prices are pretty different, but affordable
@alyssab.5605

+Logic Boii Go for the Sony A6000! I reckon it's better than the Canon T3i and T5i. Video capability is better on the T5i but if you're shooting photos, the A6000 is much better, and faster to boot. Nikon has a better lens selection, but the body is a lot bulkier. Ultimately, it's up to what you shoot and how you want to shoot it. Invest in a good lens, it'll save you a lot of struggle in the beginning. The kit-lenses are ok but if you shell out $100-$200 more you'll be a lot happier, trust me.

+Logic Boii To be honest, an iPhone 6s is going to be fine for most stuff. My friend @alxmclrn is an avid photographer and didn't upgrade until just recently. Having a camera does open a lot of doors, but it's good to prove yourself with simple stuff to make sure it would be worth it to upgrade. If you can't make awesome stuff with an iPhone, the equipment isn't the problem.
@davidkerrliving
8 жыл бұрын
+Logic Boii The Sony A6000! It is a great camera to start out on, it is small, compact but still produces the same quality photos as big Canon DSLR's if not better. It is currently the camera I have now and I love it. If you are just starting out it boasts one of the fastest autofocuses on the market and has full auto capabilities. Once you learn more you can switch to manual mode and control every aspect of the camera. Also it has interchangeable lens which means if you really get into photography some day you can upgrade your lens. I don't regret buying the A6000, and if you do decided to go with the a6000 I would start out with the kit lens. 16mm-50mm. Best of luck!
Really wish there was urban photographers in Miami i haven't really stumbled open any urban photographers in miami
That is way cool, but just watching this video made my palms sweaty lol
