How Industry Producers Chop & Manipulate Samples | Fl Studio Sampling Tutorial

Музыка

As a guy who used to collect and slice samples for industry producers back in 2016-2017, I learned an insane amount of tips and tricks in regards to finding and manipulating samples. In this tutorial, I'm going to cover everything I've learned over the past 5 years.

3:22 I agree don’t listen too long, but disagree to just use the intros. Bridges or breakdowns could be a good section to sample too. I remember learning somewhere the best producers knew how to feel the grooves of a physical vinyl record to to be able to tell if there were drums or not on a record to see if it was good to sample. Just a fun fact and comment. Dope video!

Serato sample is the way to go. Insaanely easy and quick tool to chop/ pitch samples with and it automatically matches the sample to your bpm when you load it. I never got into sampling but when I downloaded serato I was immediately hooked and my beats w/ sample chops were getting a lot more attention. Seems like people really like beats that use samples.

At that point it’s not even gonna hurt you in the end because you made a very successful track and probably will just have to cut them a percentage

I just drag the sample in the play list of fl studio, make sure the stress button is selected in the upper left corner. Right Click on the little cursor icon in the left corner of the wave form select fit tempo select the project bpm. Now the sample stretches whenever I change the tempo. And just chop straight on the playlist grid. Zoom In so you can actually see where each slice sits per bar. Rearrange your chops in whatever pattern..I usually make 4 bar patterns after I arrange the chops in the four bar pattern I select the pattern with the [ ] icon and merge the chops into one loop by hitting command G (on Mac) and it makes a new merged loop. Click on the loop I just made and click fit tempo and repeat the process making different loops by switching up the chop patterns. That’s my mouse and keyboard method of sample chop in FL studio. I don’t like dealing with Fl’s sample editing plugins unless I absolutely have too especially newtime and Edison

Get your chop game up and chop the shit out of it so no one will know where it came from. The reason people get sued is because they sample 2, 4, or 8 bar loops and it's so obvious where the sample came from no matter how you pitch it. Sample in smaller chops and rearrange those.
