India's population is 1.48 billion, while the total population of Europe, with more than 45 countries, is about 740 million. China is a highly homogeneous country with 90% Han Chinese population and 80% of the population speaks the same language, Mandarin. The most spoken language in India is Hindi, spoken by only 48% of the population, and this includes dialects like Bhojpuri. Standard Hindi is spoken by only 27% of the population. India is subcontinent functioning as a country.

All 4 corners of India as well as central India are wildly different in almost all aspects of their lives. We have forcefully brought these wildly different people and made them stay together as 1. Every state is the size of a European country. One reason why India hasn't progressed as much is because of totally different people forced to work together as 1 when that is far from the case.

China is almost homogenous now but it was due to the forced assimilation policies of the long lines of emperors in China's history. China was made of many warring states with their own language, culture and traditions. First emperor Shi Huangdi went on a bloody forced assimilation process. He forced one language one system with brute force and conquered almost all of present day China. Which is why China is the world's oldest and longest lasting empire. The current communist leaders are not unlike the emperors of the past. They are continuing the policies of the past.

People like this r trying to use academics to tear it apart with these baseless theories from within and without. Diversity has always been their strength. Until u mix a group that believes u r not acceptable as u r but they can help change it; all u gotta do is surrender to their ideas/book. Then there’s no chance. Up until that point, u can live together. Doesn’t mean there’ll always b pewce. Even families never live in complete peace. But they love and value each other

Christains and Muslim societies can advance rapidly because its easy for them to organise an entire population under a Pope, Caliph, or Imam, and have a consensus over what they want to do. But the same cant happen in Hinduism because Hinduism is not a single organised religion with a strict code of law, its a set of many religions and beliefs co existing, One community will say its bad to do animal sacrifice, another won't see any issue with it, the only factor binding them is that they all come from the same vedic roots and are under the Dharmic fold under which they organise when needed.

Hundred percent agreed. There are so many diverse groups here. People generally talk about the positives of diversity in terms of architecture, cuisine, religious events and languages. But they forget that almost always these groups have different versions of development and interests. Often these interests are opposite to each other. Even if your decision is rational and suited for the growth of the nation as a whole, some group will find it abhorrent. When protests happen, they will be portrayed as failure of the government. Not every leader is willing to take that risk. And that lack of risk taking appetite is holding us back severely.

This is further amplified by the media run by the various parties to act as their mouthpieces. After all this people are told to celebrate this "diversity" 😅😅😅. WTF. The Hindu Dharma in itself is extremely divided. Not by caste, All Hindus don't worship the same God. Hindus don't belong to the same race, they don't have the same origin. The dharma in itself is so divided, it's impossible to unite the entire nation on its basis.

If you think it should've been a Hindu Rashtra, then free the states who have different religions, culture, tradition aka northeast and some more other states

Man you have just encapsulated and captured my emotions and assessments after 4th June. I have been slightly disillusioned as well even though Mr Modi has come back for a third term. But I can easily see that this jubilation is transient because we are just one Election result away from blowing up our economy as the opposition in India can quite effortlessly lead us down a spiral into a dark future. The examples cited of Argentina, Brazil and South Africa in your video are quite apt but you missed out on the example of Venezuela. Its downfall can easily be mimicked by India as the ingredients that were present in Venezuela are also present in our country. The Maduro regime and Hugo Chavez in Venezuela explicitly stated that they will not enact socialism, but once in power did the exact opposite that led to V's current situation where there is mass starvation, poverty and inflation even after it being a high oil rich country. Just a glance through the opposition's(particularly the INC) manifesto is enough to scare the living daylights out of any sensible being interested in economic affairs. Their only USP is to divide the Hindu vote to carry out their massive social engineering and bring about their communist utopia. What pains me is that the Janta clearly hasn't learnt any of the 40 years of Nehruvian Socialist Sh*thole phase of this country where everyone of our peers like Korea, China, Singapore etc raced ahead to become rich while we were stuck redistributing poverty.

I see India's independence in 1947 unique in the manner that India not just freed itself of British Raj but also pulled itself out from the Persianate cultural sphere that it got sucked in under the Islamicate rule (Pakistan and Bangladesh carry that culture instead). But, it is a harsh reality when we see the exact same problems today that we saw in Pre-Islamic Indian society - behaving like crabs, where we hate ourselves, we feel jealous and disgust at one-another and cannot see each other succeed unless we have a share in it. We don't truly associate with our past and yet we also don't want to let go of something from that past, perhaps it's the seemingly noble values. It is a frustrating mental scenario Indian Hindus are going through, as they realize that Hinduism has now effectively become a folk or tribal religion with perhaps some potential, but no immediate practicality in bringing people together. Perhaps we are in need of another Adi Shankaracharya-like figure who can truly map the whole of this country and bring a collective cultural consciousness again. Or perhaps another foreign invasion. But this Hindu nationalism rhetoric isn't working in my opinion, at all.

Finally, a rational angle to the looming discourse on the maladies of Indian society which are many. This wasn't a ranty episode but a message those concerned with India's development need to hear. Before one has a chance to solve a problem, one needs to first accept it exists and ask the right questions. The Hydra analogy fits the Indian societal malaise well. One can't change a nation with massive population pools operating on a religiously retarded mindset, drowning in ignorance and superstition. To even broach this conversation with a fellow Indian, one has to pierce through layers of denial, delusion, and cope. Modern world has been engineered by rational minds and countries like India are functioning at the bottom-rung of that global order. India is in a dire need for cultural reinvention. Every generation has to have conversations and confront issues that their predecessors have ignored and neglected. Culture goes beyond costumed role-play. How you dress, what folk songs you dance to, and what deities you grovel at has no impact on what feeds you. But what you produce and offer to the economy does. As was perfectly posited at the end of the video, the cult of the village must be supplanted by the creed of the polis!

I aggree on almost all points Except the point about Defence Reforms. The main Problem with defence forces is not a Qualitative issue, rather an issue of Modernisation which is very Sluggish due to all the red tape involved in procurement processes. Take for example the MRFA Tender, where they couldnt even decide on a Fighter playform in 21 years. This leads to Governments sanctioning emergency procurements which is just a simple way of legalising acts of Corruption, Like the General staff decides to procure a Foreign gun platform when comparable Platforms are available at home. Secondly, I dont think that Indian Military per se is having a bad time, we have seen far worse times in 90s and 80s. And Recent Examples such as Ukraine Teaches us that No matter how Advanced Technology you have, warfare always takes toll on manpower. So you need well trained forces in big no. ESPECIALLY If you aim to defend against China. And Agnipath messes that up entirely. You have a slashed manpower with way less training and exposure and are NOT REGGIMENTED(The scheme puts an end to Regimentation). Regiment system has worked very well in the past, no indication that it wont any further. If something isnt broken, dont fix it. But slashing down manpower can prove to be an enormous blunder. TOS may work for smaller countries with low population like Israel but not India. In Recent Jammu attacks , the Security lapse happened because the Units were streched too thin to provide any any necessary coverage and are still struggling with low troop strength. The need of the hour is a well trained Bureaucracy that understands Defence and a strong Defence Minister who can stare the Generals into taking indegenous options.

If you look at Darwin,s theory of natural selection and evolution and also add the concept of genes then Indian society has the largest database of cultural genes in the world. And therefore it is very likely to survive through multiple changes in human history. Whjcg is why the Hindu civilisation considered on of the oldest and outlived the Greeks, Egyptians , romans and even the Chinese and sumerians

I think there will be a violent identity crisis in the coming years…we are already seeing the preludes to this. In my view, India’s biggest problems are its diversity, political system, and over population. India needs following revolutionary reforms to achieve China like growth: 1. The state must be created based on population rather than based on language, culture, religion, ethnicity, cast, etc. If any state’s population surpasses more than 3 cr, the state must be bifurcated immediately. The smaller state would make the administration much easier and transparent (less corruption). 2. The state level parties are not allowed to participate in national election (loksabha) and the national level parties are not allowed to participate in state election. In short, any political party has to make a decision whether they want to be national level party or state level party. 3. To be eligible to vote in national election (Loksabha), one must have at least 12th pass qualification. However, everyone can vote in state level election without any education requirement. 4. The selection of ministers in parliament must be based on meritocracy. For example, the person who has served in foreign service as an ambassador is only allowed to be a foreign minister. 5. One county One election 6. Population Control Bill (Only 2 child policy).

Spot on video. Our chatterati class usually waxes eloquent about the beauty of our diversity, it's like a salad, like a thali, a tapestry of colours and fabrics...yada yada, but it also comes with a whole load of detriments. We have 10s of millions of different races, hundreds of millions of religions, ethnicities and languages. Everyone in India is a majority in at least one minority category.

The "unscrupulous amount of freebies" promised by opposition parties, for which the BJP offered nothing substantial in return, costed Modi a few seats (a possible majority on their own). A few other issues include rural distress and the Agnipath scheme..

India is not a normal country. It is true that India has made some progress but there are so many underlying issues which are getting severe as time goes on. Suicides are increasing.

Each and every country has severe underlying problems. Even developed countries. India's task is just harder because of the diversity and population. For a very long time we haven't had bold leaders and reforms in laws. Also our close relationship with Russia has steered us more towards socialism. After liberalization and a competent government we are just starting to see positive effects. It takes time for change.

India is an empire. That will upset a lot of Indians, but the fact remains, all the semi independent countries under The Raj were forced into one entity at independence, some like Kashmir and Khalistan, against their will. India should put it to the vote whether it remains an empire or become a federation of sovereign states.

Which homogenised nation is ideal and heavenly ?! Thank you very much, we have been doing just fine since thousands of years even before the world knew about the word democracy, autocracy, monarchy, dictatorship, etc... "Reform" is not necessary in agriculture and wherever that's done, is not a nice experience. The only thing that comes out of reform is packaged food !

Nehru's socio-economic policies are responsible for many problems India is facing today. China rejected the socialist economic policies in the early 60s itself and focused on industrialisation while India stuck to it until 1990s.

Re: 12:09, Congress encouraging redistribution and economic progress being the preserve of the privileged lot sounds very much influenced by the likes of Jean Dreze and Thomas Piketty and their BS theories. They expect India to conform to European welfare standards without tackling corruption, creating avenues for wealth creation, and enhancing state capacity on law & order. They want first world benefits and handouts without first world state capacity.
